-This Lotte is not as good as the Centreville or Chantilly locations. -I feel like this Lotte location is just straight up poorly managed. -The product layout is a disaster; the aisles are a mess. -Terrible place to do grocery shopping. +They carry Magnolia brand ice cream. +Lotte has a loyalty rewards program. +Lotte carries unique Asian products not found elsewhere. Overall, I try and visit the Centreville location as much as possible, and make this location a fallback for items I may have missed.

This is a smaller location from other locations but it's got all the goodies you'd want in an asian grocery store. Goodies include cheap and affordable produce. I'm talking very cheap and bulk. Where else can you get 5 bunches of green onions (scallions) for only $1.49? I would caution you to be careful here as some of the produce items look rotten or outdated so be alert and aware. Different kinds of meat are avail (like pork & beef for different broths). Not to mention all the Indian and Asian items to make inspired cuisine such as curry or beef noodle soup bowls. Same with other items like desserts, spices, frozen foods, dairy products, the whole 9 and 10 yards! I'd give 5 stars for this place if they were more consistent for their produce quality. But the prices and the diversity of international Asian items make this a cool place for groceries!

I love this place, grocery fresh all the time and always sale going on. They also have a nice seafood selection of variety of fish. I will always pick Lotte over so many other grocery stores

I had the worse customer service today at Lotte. In the past they haven't done great but today they really crossed a line. I am nine months pregnant and in line to make a return. Even though the cashier/ manager can clearly see me he allows a buddy of his to cut in front of me. I didn't say anything but then he allowed an employee buying drinks to cut in front of me. I spoke up and said I'm in line and his reply was "well he is an employee." Then when he got to my turn he kept saying I was standing in the wrong place in line and that I should have told the men before me that they cut in front of me. When I told him his attitude needs to be better, he threatened to call the police. I asked his name to complain to better business bureau and to their corporate headquarters and he threatened to call police again takes out his phone to take my pic. I was calm through this entire incident but this was enough. I told him I'd call the police and I wasn't afraid of his empty threats. Awful customer service and he claimed to be the manager and that there was no supervisor above him. Shame on you Lotte!

I bought the milk yesterday the date is up to 17 May but it is already bad and not drinkable

They are well stocked! It can be a little overwhelming.. but that means they have lots of things to choose from!

Despite being a smaller location compared to other Lotte Stores, they have lots of produce and various oriental items. This place is clean and well stocked. The staff is very helpful, especially if you cannot find what you're looking for. There is a pastry/bakery area that looks yummy! Also, there is a Mr. Sushi & Mrs. Roll, where you can eat. It's a small eatery inside. But that is another review for another day. Overall, this is a convenient location. I'm Filipina, so I'm glad to see Tito Al's Chicharron in various flavors and Mama Sita's seasonings. I love this grocery store in general.

Coming soon sign on the Lotte Plaza (Fairfax location) announcing the opening of the Ashburn location

A very good store, nice selection, fair prices. Be aware, the bread department is independent and needs to be paid there.

For those who rated Lotte low, can you tell me the difference between this one and coco's international? There seem no other Asian markets in sterling and ashburn area

The difference between Lotte and Coco's International is that (for me)Coco's smells more like seafood. By the way I did not RATE Lotte I was just seeing if it was worth going to

Easy enough to park the Sprinter van in their huge lot after taking care not to drive onto the deck area. The verdict? Five stars of "Wow." She was thoroughly impressed and on top of that, we managed to get out of here without a cart full of snacks. But still, so much to browse on here. Sushi, cheese, fresh grab-and-go heat-and-eat food, great wine and beer including a huge section of non-alcoholic options, pizza, fresh deli, a tremendous produce department and a massive butchery with fresh fish. There's just so much here. And Wegmans doesn't cut out on checkout either. Despite the store being rather busy on this Saturday afternoon, there were plenty of registers open and no queue at the self-checkout. Impressive. Getting out was a little bit of a challenge as Village Market feeds into the small mixed-use "village" they have adjacent. A little bit of traffic here but it moved fast enough that it rates only a small mention. This is the one area where they could improve. [Review 1032 of 2025 - 1516 in Virginia - 24586 overall]

I don't get out to the Sauson International Grocery as often as I used to, but I still make the…read moretrip 1-2 times a month for mainly one thing: some of the freshest and tastiest bread in all of the DMV. Every culture has their own interpretation of taking the basic ingredients of flour, yeast, salt and water and transforming it via various baking methods into their version of "bread." There is a long history of using circular oval shaped ovens in Asia and the Middle East as a way of both conserving space and to efficiently cook foods with even heat distribution and small footprints in otherwise cramped kitchens. In India these ovens are called tandoors while in Japan they are referenced as kamados. Sauson International Grocery has been in operation since 2011, and the owner, who everyone knows as "Mr. Rashid," is of Persian descent having emigrated from Iran. He is always super friendly and willing to answer questions I may have about the wide variety of Middle Eastern spices and foods this place stocks. Don't be surprised if you strike up a conversation with him, and he offers you a cup of wonderfully spiced tea and a cookie or pastry from the delectable dessert case. As some of the reviews have noted, parking is tricky. There is a small covered garage under the building. But you may have to park at the nearby church or on the street and then walk over to the store. This place is well known for their bread, which is being made throughout the day. I came a bit later today, so they had just finished making a few batches. But it's not uncommon to witness skilled bakers kneading and rolling, and then slapping the dough onto the circular metallic oven for a few minutes, before piping hot fresh bread emerges. The bread is amazing. It is pliable, without being overly chewy. It is slightly salty, with a great smoky almost charred flavor. I've had it cut into pieces and then dipped with hummus or rolled into gyros or used to sandwich kabob meat. And believe it or not, it's even pretty good as a PB&J. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I've introduced this product to usually asks: (1). What type of bread is this? and (2). Where can I buy it? Note: As of this review, the current price is $8.05 for FOUR large round pieces of bread. Apart from the bread, there is also a small butcher shop in the back, and a kitchen where hot foods like kabob platters are made. There is also a small seating area in front of the store, where folks can sip tea and relax while enjoying sweets from the display case. Sauson is a really cool place and while I usually go with the intention of only buying bread, it's not uncommon for me to walk out with a few bags of unique Middle Eastern groceries.

Impressive variety of selection and wonderful hospitality. Can't wait to go back soon.read more
