This grocery store is in a shopping center with multiple other stores including Starbucks. The store is clean and spacious. I used to come here a lot before they opened the ALDI in leesburg. The prices are low and they have a self checkout. My only issue is that you can't use EBT at self Checkout and they normally only have one lane open. The last time I was here I asked them to open a lane and the cashier said we only have self checkout. I said okay so how am I gonna pay with EBT. She said Oh and then opened a lane to ring me up. It's a hassle and I know it's not a store decision but because of this there should ALWAYS be a lane open. I shouldn't have to shout across self checkout that I'm using food stamps and need to be rung up. I mean I did but I'd prefer not to. Lol I have no reason to return here unless I'm in the area and need something quick and cheap. read more

Funny to hear people crying over the littlest things, no bags, save the environment, oh no. Relax, it's no big deal, going to be alright. Yes, bring your own bags, or buy them there, most people have turned to this eco-friendly way years ago. Yes, bag your own groceries, you do that too, but that's they way at the growing self-serve lines at other grocery stores. When you first walk in, you go by the delicious smelling bakery that reminds me of Europe, great assortment of breads, pastries, cookies, etc. Then just cruise around ,enjoy. Yes, they sell a bunch of non-grocery items in the center of store, not my thing, but it's there. Produce, meats, dairy all seemed fresh and the price was right. Store not too overwhelmingly big, but had everything that I would ever need. Great prices, clean store, easy parking, friendly staff,,,,yeah, I'll be back soon!! read more

I'm highly disappointed in my experience at LIDL on 4/18/2021. I purchased a insulated bottle through self check out. The tag/bar code on the item was not scanning properly so the manager on duty came by and manually inputted the price. Once I came home, I realized the item had damage to it. I came back to the store later that evening and there had been another manager working. I tried to return the item with my receipt and I had explained the situation. The manager was extremely rude and was brushing me off. He had claimed that I did not purchase that item from this location but the receipt clearly stated to. He denied me multiple times and refused to give me a refund. There was no point in keeping the item for myself as it has no use. I'm highly disappointed as I am a regular customer but I will never bring business to LIDL again. read more

In search of some windshield therapy during the pandemic, we headed to the Lidl in Virginia so we can buy alcohol and groceries at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised to also find plants! I bought some basil. There are hand wipes for you and the cart as well as plenty of parking. The prices are amazing, the selection and quality of food is amazing. I think I like this place better than Trader Joe's. I wish Maryland would someday make it possible to buy beer and wine in the grocery store-- thank you for being so civilized, olde Virginia. What a find! You must know about this place, but being new this grocery store is better than out grocery outlet in CA. This was clean, well lit, fresh baked goods! So many mainstream brands! Fresh, frozen, & unique food items. So exciting to see the prices! We have been in sticker shock @ Giant, HT& Weg. This place Rocks for pricing as well! I came in with great expectations today, I saw they opened yesterday but wasn't able to make it for their grand opening. Ok I wasn't impressed (I said it). Yes its still got similar selection to their other Ashburn store which is great but that's pretty much where the greatness ends. Looks like I'll probably continue to shop at the other location which is by my chiropractor's office. The issues: 1. Parking is terrible compared to the other location. Not to mention they're building a strip mall to surround the Lidl, so you're still dealing with debris and construction vehicles. 2. The entry, ok so this was a bit confusing as I walk in so there are two sets of automatic doors that look the exact same and its hard to tell which is for entry and which is for exit. 3. The layout is a bit more compact, it sort of reminded me of Aldi, which I'm not a big fan of their narrow aisles either. 4. Perhaps it was because it was really busy there but there was visible trash on the floor in some parts of the store. Not a lot but it was enough for me to take notice. 5. They're still stocking the aisles in the middle of the day when the place is crowded. 6. The self check out area is also a bit narrow and cramped, good luck if you're coming through with a full sized cart. 7. So they have staff outside trying to get you sign up with your email and enter a drawing for a $500 gift card, ok great but they only have 2 ipads and there are a few people ahead of me. 8. No places in the lot for you to leave your cart. There are a few pluses since I don't want to end on a total negative. There were staff outside to help bring your carts in although I don't expect this going forward when the newness dies down. This one does have a bakery which if you haven't had any of their baked goods check it out, their chocolate chunk cookies are really good! Other bonus their German Spatzle noodles were just under $2 which is a great deal! read more

The prices are very good, some of the brands etc. are European...for me that is a good thing, for quality control. I can get German candy and cookies, so even better! There is a good variety of frozen sea food, although there is no fresh seafood section. I am a fan of the salmon in pastry w/spinach and cream sauce, for example. You should have no problem getting filets, shrimp, scallops, breaded fish.... For red meat, It carries Rastelli's along with store brands and other brands, and that was a pleasant surprise. I'm not a big fan of the produce here, but I do buy the apples and I buy flowers at a good price, including orchids at times. I also buy the Greek yogurt and sometimes the store brand yogurt. The milk and egg prices are outstanding! I have found that the store brand frozen pizza is the same as the store brand elsewhere...many of these types of things are produced in the same places and then just packaged with the store label. I like it. Canned product prices are very good. Again, even the Lidl canned goods are, of course, other brands repackaged. I strongly suspect the soup, or some of it, is Campbells, for example, such as the Chicken and Dumplings soup. Very difficult to beat the prices on everyday items...when was the last time you saw a store selling bread for 50 cents a loaf or bought peas for 54 cents a can (I buy peas almost every time I go in -- salted or unsalted)? It is not a huge store, but it is larger than Aldi's. Seasonal and some odds and ends items are in the center of the store. These items change. Perhaps one week you will find a certain toy, or leggings, or .... I enjoyed buying squash pasta sauce...why not? There is no rule I will have to put it on pasta. The service is so-so, but the workers are very friendly. I asked and was told it's a great place to work, that the company is good to them. One said it was the best place he'd ever worked, as far as how he is treated. That matters to me. Be prepared to bring your own bags or purchase bags. There is no cart deposit, though, before someone asks. read more

We are finished with Lidl. Today we went in to grab a watermelon and they were in a waist high huge carton with a rectangular area cut out. My husband could not get a grip on the melon so she asked a man who works there for help. First the worker questioned why we would not he able to grasp the watermelon. Then I asked him to do it and he could not. Then he got on his phone to ask for help and walked away saying he would be back. A few minutes later we we're still waiting. He did not return, help did not come, he questioned my husband's ability to do something the clerk could not do either. Atrocious customer service. Never again!! read more

It's a grocery store.... Does what is should. It's clean, there is a good variety of items. Most of the food items are clean without corn syrup and preservatives. I wish they had a better soda selection with cane sugar, (only have craft orange soda and root beer) but other than that I have no issues. The bakery items are good. read more

I love Lidl. I first experienced the brand when I was on vacation in Denmark and the model/store layout is just the same. There is no beating the prices, especially with store brand items. The produce doesn't last as long and you have to be careful what you buy for spoilage. This store is not a good one. It's too small and cramped. I experienced a woman in front of me not wearing a mask, though she kept putting the jacket of her sleeve in front of her face every 15 seconds or so like she was sneezing and the motion would help. The checkout is 1/2 the size of the other store's checkout that I go to so you are cramped together in like a bedroom closet. In addition, this one was (as most stores) understaffed for the number of customers. There was one checker at 5pm (when people shop after work) covering both the bay of self checkout and a actual checkout stand. He apologized each time he had to help the self-checkout people. I felt sorry for him b/c his management put him in this position. He went to help about 6 times during our cart full of groceries. I won't be back to this store, until this is all over. read more

I (the customer) was shopping at this location last evening and it was my first time there. I (the customer) noted that their pricing was overall pretty good and the quality and selection of the fresh foods and other products was acceptable. However, I (the customer) was taken aback by their confusing grocery bag policy at checkout. As far as I (the customer) could tell, they want to protect the environment by not providing grocery bags but they would certainly sell them to me. I (the customer) didn't see them recycling shipping boxes or other containers either which blows their environmental concerns right out of the water. This no-bag policy is the dumbest idea and the biggest business turnoff I (the customer) have ever experienced in any retail store. I (the customer) highly recommend that they get with the traditional program so I (the customer) don't spill any more groceries onto the floor after checkout and to make transporting my delicate food purchases more practical and convenient. read more

Everyone was masked and they where happy to help me find my lost phone. when the manager returned my phone to me, he stayed at a COVID-safe distance and handled it with care.
