What a gem! It's a shame I don't live closer, every employee and I would be on a first name basis. This is a super cute boutique Italian/international grocery with an amazing deli. I have been partial to the panini they've had on special, the hot honey brisket. Love the beef, love the flavor combination, love how everything melds together, love the crunch of the bread. I've tried a couple bites of other paninis and they've been great as well. The store has anything you could need to make whatever Italian meal that could come to mind, and more. Another stop at Lotsa Pasta. This is a true Italian Market. I had a list of items I wanted this time. It's best to have a list or you will go crazy perusing the aisles and max out your credit card. For me, it was the products absent in my town --- Fregola, Guanciale, spinach pasta. Their 2lb loaf of cracked wheat bread is great for sandwiches. I stopped by Lotsa Pasta recently and decided to try the Reuben sandwich. Honestly, it tasted fine, but the size was disappointing--especially for $11. It felt more like a snack than a meal. The store itself is really cool though, with lots of unique items to browse through, so that part was fun. But as far as the food goes, I expected more for the price. Given the name, it's underwhelming: there is not that much pasta here. The selection is both limited and expensive. There's some of the usual imported goods, but it's not like you'd find in a city with a bigger Italian population. read more

I have never found anything at lots of pasta that wasn't excellent. They're frozen tortellini and ravioli is without compare. We buy their marinara sauce, the spicy version, by the case they have done several years. I highly recommend this local establishment. read more

I love this store so much! I have known John the owner since the days when he worked in a cheese shop and long before he opened lots of pasta on Bardstown Road. I can't say enough about the quality and variety of food. You can find here and the friendly service. We usually go there to get olives and stuffed grape leaves and good cheese. Fantastic place!! They have homemade noodles to take home along with premade pasta meals to heat up. Their deli is also exceptional with fantastic sandwiches. I get the Italian sub with banana peppers and it is so good and a great size. They have fantastic oils with put in the bread. It's great quality ingredients on a simple sandwich. Everyone who works there is very kind and helpful. And it really has a mom and pop local ambiance. You can get a good amount of grocery goods there too but not everything. And they have a small international section with some Asian goods as well. I cannot attest to their baked goods. I was not a fan of the cannoli but that was years ago and I am very picky. read more

I finally made it to this location after seeing Lotsa Pasta at different farmers markets! As soon as I walked in I was surprised by all the items they sell; from sauces to oils to canned goods. You name it! The first thing I ran to get was the Benedictine dip because it is SO good. They also have a great frozen section and of course I had to get the Spinach & Cheese Tortellini. They have a deli so I got a Chicken & Prosciutto Panini and it was delicious! It was a tough choice though because all the sandwiches look good. They also have a coffee shop so you can buy your sandwich and then sit and enjoy it with a nice beverage. The staff was very friendly as well! I will definitely be back. read more

A fantastic market and deli. They have my favorite sandwiches in Louisville. The artichoke panini is awesome even if you're not a huge veggie fan. They have an army of folks working the deli counter, and they're always quick to help, offer recommendations, and get you sorted out. It's a warm sandwich and the flavors just were not there for me. It got a little soggy and I think my picky eater gene just turned on. I think I'll stick with cold sandwiches from them. I did finally get to try their focaccia, and OH MY GOODNESS. Why did no one tell me that I would sell my soul for a piece of garlic-y bread?? Their garlic focaccia has got to be the best one. It does have large chunks of cooked garlic in it, so if you are not a garlic girl I would maybe try the plainer ones. Also picked up some cannolis-- I'm not sure how frozen cannolis manage to stay so crispy and crunchy but they do. I want to start by saying that I have been a long time customer. Every Oaks and Derby for the last 15 years my wife and I order 35 + box lunches to take to the track each day. Today I ordered a turkey and swiss on wheat sandwich that was less than desirable. There was maybe 3 thinly sliced pieces of turkey and the cheese was less than sixteenths of an inch thick. The market is fine but I've been wanting to try their coffee shop for a long time. Though the drink was fine, it lacks Italian coffee shop ambience (yes, I've had espresso in Italy). The area itself is fine but they added a wall mount tv which was in use during my visit. Drinks are in take away cups only and the baked items are from other local bakeries. This is not a good place for conversation, work or reading or to feel like you are in Italy. The shop opens late, 10am, for most coffee places, in my opinion. read more

One of my favorite places to go in Saint Matthews is Lotsa Pasta. They have so many amazing options that you can't find elsewhere. Their spice collection is very robust, and I found spices from different parts of the world for a very reasonable price. I particularly love their cheese collection. They've got amazing options that are so tasty and well priced. They've got pasta and pasta sauce which is some of the best that I've seen. Many of their brands are gourmet and available there. For fresh items that were house made they have homemade pasta's, entrées, calzones that you can purchase and prepare at home. Oh, and the dips. Delish in their own right. Their breads are incredible. Everything is very reasonably priced. You can even go in and just get yourself a sandwich if you're hungry. A trip to Lotsa pasta does not disappoint. read more
