We ordered the spicy Italians sub and Meatball. These reviews for food are based on that. The place is inviting and comfy. Service was great. Very attentive. Now the food my spicy sub was nice ! The olive oil was top notch and the meat in the sub was good quality. I give it 4.5 stars olive oil and vinegar mixed to Perfection !!! The meatball sub was also very good. I was browsing for a lunch spot in Buckner, Kentucky today and although it seemed highly unlikely that I would find one, I stumbled across Delizie Italiane. An Italian cafe in Buckner? Colored me intrigued...and also super surprised. Delizie Italiane is less than a mile from the YMCA, where my daughter had an event today. It has a rustic vibe (it's in a former railroad station), with wood beams and exposed brick. I ordered the Mortadella sandwich, served with ferro wheat salad or fruit. Sandwiches are served on bread from one of our favorites, Blue Dog Bakery. My sandwich consisted of thinly sliced imported mortadella with pistachios topped with lettuce, tomato, sliced Swiss cheese, thinly sliced red onion, and a mild or spicy giardiniera (pickled Italian pepper and vegetable salad) all on a Pugliese roll. I opted for wheat salad. I also tried the homemade minestrone soup (in a beef broth) and my three-year-old's buttered noodles and Parmesan. Sliced bread and oil for dipping was provided for the table. Everything I tasted was phenomenal, fresh, and authentic. To say that I'm pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Buckner is an understatement. The interior was cozy on this rainy day and the service was as warm as the atmosphere. I can't comment too much on the prices (my mother was treating to lunch) but it seemed average based on the menu and below average cost when considering the exceptional quality. It's my understanding that they currently serve breakfast and lunch and also have pop-up dinners. They had several specials posted on the blackboard. This is a business you don't want to sleep on. I live in an area with hundreds of food options with in a few mile radius and I would absolutely drive an extra half hour to revisit Delizie Italiane. I can't wait to work my way through the entire menu. read more

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my mom and my daughter a couple months ago. The food was delicious, I don't remember the specifics, but there was a papperdelle dish, a ragu, and maybe a shrimp item? We were visiting from California and came in on a weekday for breakfast and were astounded. Colby was our server and made us feel like VIPs. The food was outstanding. The egg & prosciutto was delicious. Our favorite was the polenta. We shared an order of French toast and it's something we won't forget. The ambiance felt as if we were in Italy. Behold being transported to a countryside Italian village restaurant while never leaving Kentucky, that's what you'll get at Delizie's. The ambiance is Italian casual, the food is phenomenal, fresh, and authentic Italian the portions are good and the price is reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient. The only downside I found from this restaurant was its limited hours. I am hoping in the future that they will have the staff and facilities to offer dinner times on a regular basis. read more

Everything. Might as well be over in Italy itself, the owner is a lovely Italian lady, very friendly and strived for customer satisfaction. Has great coffee, lattes, cappuccinos etc., The place was once a small train stop and just feels like home with an extra touch. Regulars are here everyday.. we call it the lemon tree. Such a sweet place. I had the rustic bread with apricot preserves and it was the perfect thing. Crunchy bread! My husband has the quiche of the day which he loved and we fought over the spicy fried potatoes. They are perfectly spiced and I wanted to eat every bit of his. They have great coffee as well, light, medium and dark roast. For beverages other than coffee you have a variety of canned choices. The best part is the community- we were told there are several groups that come every week and some groups know others and it's like an Italian cheers with out the alcohol. Seems like they are new and still need some time to figure it out it! Not super clear when you enter what to do. Waited for 10 mins during lunch one day and left. I'll try again some time but what a waste! Watched 2 other tables do the same (walk out after being ignored for a long period of time). Decor is weird.
