Eventually, after asking again, the waitress brought over a sticky mop--and just handed it to us. No joke. We mopped the floor ourselves, while she stood there. To be clear: we were her only table. I'm mostly a solo rider, sometimes riding with a small group of friends, and occasionally joining a larger group. Today, I joined the 4th Annual Gut Check Ride, hosted by the Call of Liberty MC in support of the nonprofit United We March. 25 bikes participated! The ride followed the Delta Loop -- Gunnison, Nephi, Delta, Scipio, and back to Gunnison. For me, it was 210 miles of riding! The ride was well planned, well executed, and safe. From what I could tell, everyone had a great time! A big THANK YOU to Paul Harnett and Call of Liberty MC for allowing me to participate. I'm glad I got to be part of it! And, of course... let's not forget LUNCH! ASHTON BURGER BARN & BUTCHER SHOP -- DELTA Great burgers, fries, ice cream, AND a butcher shop! My choice: Cheeseburger -- lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle and cheese. Just the right amount of toppings! Fries -- homestyle, just the way I like them! LEE'S LOCAL VERDICT: Great food. A fun place to stop for lunch. And they easily handled the sudden rush of 25+ hungry bikers! Worth the ride? ABSOLUTELY! If you're in Delta, stop by Ashton Burger Barn & Butcher Shop. (They scan everyone's ID, so be sure to have it with you when you go into the establishment. There is a large selection of draft beers. The menu is pretty large with everything from sandwiches to pizza and tacos. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and some carne asada tacos. The tacos were amazing and their pico de gallo was very tasty. The pizza was a good size for the price. This place is great. The food is tasty l, the beer is cold, and the seats are comfortable. Most important of all, the prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This is a must visit for my return trip to Richfield.

The beers are mostly domestic with only one micro brew selection but there were plenty of national brand choices. The food was home made and not bad for bar food. I had a Pittsburgh cheese steak sandwich that I thought was good. I ordered it with a side salad instead of fries as I had also ordered the loaded Pastrami fries which came with cheese, pickles and mustard on top. It was a bit too rich and heavy for my taste and the flavors didn't really work well together. Maybe without the mustard I would have liked it more. Not a bad place for a rest stop or a reasonable local hang out as well with some decent food.

I don't think we had what the restaurant would consider a bad experience. They just do not have food that is even close to the same league they present it to be. They have a diner downstairs and I have no doubt we would have done better there. We had 7:30 reservations. We discovered that in Delta that is late night dining. That's not their fault. If they had prime rib, it was long gone. We got the filet because it's hard to screw that up. We started with the salad bar. There was nothing wrong with that. The meal came with the standard preparation of protein, starch, and veg at 10:00, 2:00 and 5:00 o'clock on the plate just like mom made me in the 60's. The veg was a few carrot pieces steamed. The mashed potatoes need a LOT of butter and cream. A little flavor in the veg and starch would have been nice. The steak came covered with nearly cooked onions and mushrooms also without any real flavor. Once uncovered, the steak wasn't as overcooked as expected. That was the one bright point. A little salt and pepper would have been nice. Apparently once you place a little flower, that doesn't look edible, on the plate it becomes fine dining. We ate about half the food and left. This place is only open for dinner Saturday night.
