Fully updated and shaded from the tough Miami heat, new playground equipment, and unfinished updates are still happening. The trail around the block is great for short bike rides before and/or after letting the kids play. The tennis courts are still being used and the field is open past the caution tapes for soccer. Coral Way lies along Coral Way Road which was established by Coral Gables founder George E. Merrick during the 1920s. The Coral Way subdivisions contain a charming mix of Mission Revival Style architecture and bungalow homes from the 1920s, Art Deco style from the 1930s, and modest post-World War II homes. Bryan Park is a community park popular with children and adults. You will find the adults on the tennis courts which also offers lessons while children flock to the recently updated shade covered playground. The new playground equipment is inclusive and ADA compliant. Another great feature of the park is the outdoor gym equipment where you can work out for free. Also in the park is the Bryan Park Community Center where they offer youth programs and camps. Bryan Park brings the community together for picnics, work outs, tennis games, and play providing something for all ages to enjoy.

Holt's family moved from Shellman, Ga. to Miami in 1953. He grew up in Miami's Overtown and attended Dunbar Elementary School. At Booker T. Washington Jr. and Sr. high schools, he excelled in football, and in Track & Field, and especially in the sprint dashes. Holt ran the 100-yard dash in 9.5 seconds and as a result of his speed and dedication to the sport, he won many first-time honors. In 1960, he became the first African American athlete allowed to compete in Age Group Track & Field competitions against whites in South Florida, while running for the Florida Athletic Club. In 1961, Holt also became the first African American to make the All-Dade County High School Track Team and was recognized as one of the fastest runners in the world. He won an athletic scholarship to Grambling State University in Louisiana, where he competed against some of the best-known sprinters in the world, athletes such as: Bob Hayes, the 1964 Olympic Champion and the World's Fastest Human; Jim Hines, the 1968 Olympic champion; Olympians Charlie Green, Mel Pender, George Anderson, Stone Johnson and Richard Stebbings; and in 1964, He competed in the United States Olympic Trials. It's been a while since I've ice skated but it wasn't hard to pick up again…read more For Miami Beach residents, it's only $5.00 for 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon between 3-5pm. if you're able to use hockey skates, they have those too which is what I prefer. They have other public skate days so check out their schedule to learn what they are. Bring gloves as it can be a bit on the chilly side, and you definitely don't want to freeze your butt off for those 2 hours. Plus if you happen to slip and fall, your hands will stay warm. Also, come with a jacket and maybe a couple layers; no one has fun while shivering. When I arrived at 4pm, there was only an hour left to skate and the condition of the ice was already hacked. I think they should resurface the ice between the 2 hours as it would make the experience much more enjoyable; it wouldn't take more than 10 mins or so...at least the outer edge where most people skate around and not the center area. Sure it's much slicker, but the way the ice was...you would be tripping over holes that would catch your skates out of no where. Most of the skaters were from young children 3 years told to men in their 50s or so who can really skate. Kinda how I-95 is with so many different drivers with so many different skills; it could be a formula for a head on.

That is why I was surprised to come across this one while driving through Miami Beach. The North Miami Beach Skate Park is located right across the street from the beach where you will also find bike rentals and jogging trails. The park is small and set up for beginner to intermediate skateboarders. There are ramps, a pole jam, a box, a quarter pipe, an A frame, round rails, down rails, and a half pipe. This is the perfect place to practice your skills. During my visit , I enjoyed watching skaters perfect their tricks. Shade in the park is limited but there are water fountains, restrooms, and parking. This is a fun park to get in some practice, or just take in the local skateboarding scene.

There is the playground that has some screens overhead to provide a little shade in the play area. There are some covered tables and chairs, so you can have some snacks or lunch. There is also a big field where you can run around and kick a soccer ball, etc. It is generally pretty clean, not too crowded, and there is plenty of parking. It is conveniently located, so we often will go there just before dinner to burn off some extra energy. There is also enough parking, too.

Dedicated in 2008, this 2.4 acre park has four synthetic field options, a 7x7 soccer field and a 9x9 soccer field which are overlaid on a full 11x11 soccer field and a full-size lacrosse field. Fields can be rented from the city. The park also has a bleachers, a shade covered playground, restroom, and water fountain. Like all of the parks in Pinecrest, this park is clean and well maintained. Teams who come to practice and families who want to kick a ball around with the kids are the most frequent visitors to this serene park.

I'm always looking for new places to walk, exercise, and explore, and this spacious 9.29 acre park turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The highlight of Bird Lakes Park has to be its brand-new nature themed playground, which opened in September 2025. Following extensive renovations, the playground now features a scenic stone mound, climbing logs, seat boulders, a birdhouse, and interactive environmental learning stations. These interactive elements encourage exploration, climbing, imaginative play, and a connection to nature. The rest of the park offers plenty of recreational amenities, including a lighted basketball court, a baseball field, a recreation center, a picnic shelter, and a paved walking path. I was also surprised to find a teqball table. The sport is played on a curved table that resembles a table tennis table and combines elements of soccer and table tennis. Teqball was invented in 2014 by Hungarians Gábor Borsányi and Viktor Huszár after Borsányi suffered a soccer injury and wanted to create a less aggressive way to enjoy the sport. Today, many professional soccer players use teqball as a supplemental training tool, and it has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. In less than a decade, more than 100 countries have established their own teqball associations. During my walk through the park, I spotted numerous mother ducks accompanied by their adorable ducklings. It was wonderful to see that even with all the recreational facilities, there is still plenty of room for wildlife. It's nice to know that the birds have a place at Bird Lakes Park, too.

They have restrooms and many benches. We sat in one of the benches and enjyed our time there for hours. They also have playground and basketball court.
