my beautiful baby... the adoption process was easy and fast. The staff was amazing too. Super happy with my baby.

The adoption process was super smooth and I got to take my baby home after meeting her

I came in knowing I wanted a little black witchy cat and they let me say hello in each of the kitty rooms, the sweetest girl put me in a separate room to hang out with each one I was interested in until I found my perfect match. I fell in love with "Gouda" and I named her Sabrina, she is so perfect and snuggly and is adjusting SO FAST! The adoption process was incredibly fast and easy and I love my little girl so much! My love for her grows every second. The staff here is so very helpful and kind! And the kitties here are cared for greatly, they have these cute little rooms with cat trees, blankies and toys! Thank you so much!!!

We were rescued by Boo Boo. He is such a joy and the staff is excellent. A special shout out to Tatum. She was over the top helpful and we could tell she loves what she's doing. We have renamed him Chewy as in Chewbaca. He is the best.

Am I allowed to bring my dog with me when I volunteer?

Hi Lois, thank you for reaching out! We do not allow owned dogs to come in unless it is for the purpose of an adoption or weekend getaway meet and greet. This is for the safety of all pets and keeping everyone as happy, stress-free, and healthy as…

You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We went to Petsmart in 2012 for cat food. Had no plan to come home with a dog. We knew no one knew much about the little fella. He melted our heart, and our daughter had fish, hermit crabs, birds, and cats, but never had a dog yet. He melted our hearts. When we picked him up he grabbed onto us. And didn't want to be put back down. Needless to say we came home with a pup and cat food. He needed some veterinary care. After a week he was doing great. He has gluten, soy, and dairy allergies just like us, so he was a perfect fit. We were perfect for him as well since our eyes were open to his needs and how to feed him. We have had him 13 years now. He is 14 and is still the same happy silly pup. I don't know how they obtain dogs these days, but we are thankful he is a part of our lives.

We have found that this shelter really cares about their pups, especially what type of home an adoptee is going to be part of. They do a great job of matching up their new family members. Our pup has become the BEST addition to our family. She was from a hoarding situ and was skittish, but she has become one of the sweetest family members we have ever had and we ADORE her! Valley Dogs is an extremely caring group that really does match up pups and their families. We are grateful they care so much about the pups in need! We highly recommend them for adopting your next family member. They truly are an awesome group!

I have…read morefostered dogs for several local and non-local rescue groups including Valley Dogs, but what strikes me most about Valley Dogs is the animals they choose to pull from the shelters. Valley Dogs is run by a man named Michael West. From what I've observed, Michael chooses to take on the dogs that need the most help medically - the dogs hit by cars, obese owner surrenders, pregnant owner surrenders, older dogs with big hearts (figuratively) and medical conditions... I am not sure how he manages to finance all of this. Valley Dogs holds a few fund raisers through out the year, but I know the cost to get his dogs in good enough health to be adopted must be daunting. I can see the stress in his face every time I see him. However, he keeps pulling dogs in great need from the shelter because I don't think he can turn away. All of Valley Dogs rescues are fostered before they go up for adoption. This is a fantastic thing. Michael takes on a lot of these dogs. There is always a beautiful and kind red head (his wife?) that is with him at the adoptions and an older veteran as well. They foster a lot of the dogs, too. They know the quirks and idiosyncrasies of each of the dogs they foster. This helps with placement. I love this group. They are human, but they must be hidden angels because the dogs they are helping are the ones most definitely the most in need. They are very often at the PetsMart on 20th and Highland on the weekends trying to find homes for their dogs. If you see them and want a specific type of dog, I would imagine they would scour the shelters for you
