New rescue pup

I just adopted a new puppy from AAWL in Chandler and it was a really nice experience. The people working there were very helpful and kind. They were patient/ never rushed. They didn't pressure you nor did they try to scare you out of it. The dogs seem to be very much loved and taken care of well. I will highly recommend this place in the future to people who want to rescue a new pet. It was an overall really good experience and we love our new little girl

We had a mental health emergency in our home on 3/6 and our lives were forever changed in an instant. My husband attempted to take his own life. A few days later, my 21-year-old son suggested some Puppy Therapy. We headed to the Chandler Mall and found this beautiful little girl staring at us through the window. AAWL allows snuggle time with the animals if they aren't too busy, for a $10 donation. I gladly paid the money! I explained that we had a very tough week and could use some pure joy. We were hooked up with a precious 3-month-old Chihuahua named Tinkerbell. She had been staring at us through the window and the look in her eyes matched mine. I can say without a doubt, pure bliss with a puppy, puppy kisses, and puppy breath, are the best thing in the whole world when your heart is hurting. My son and I belly laughed, we giggled, we smiled. We had 30 minutes of uninterrupted bliss; we were able to leave the events of the previous few days behind us in those moments. I appreciate all of the staff so much for their understanding and compassion that day. I was so grateful that I was near tears when we left. Thank you for having this snuggle option, it really, truly does make a difference. It helped my son and I tremendously as we start to move forward with our new normal.

this should be called a dog adoption center. Came in to look and saw only dogs and puppies. No cats or kittens! What a disappointment. I will not be returning to this adoption center that only has dogs. They also had overpriced pet supplies.

Thank you so much for all of your help in my search for a therapy dog. We came in 30 minutes before close with me in tears, trying to find a dog that would work for me as I had just had to surrender a very sick dog we got from Maricopa Animal Control. All of the volunteers were lovely from start to finish and had dogs in mind that would be perfect for my energy level as well as needs from the dog. They found me my perfect girl Nala (Originally Elvira) and she has settled into our little family perfectly. I couldn't be more grateful for this rescue in helping me in my desperate time of need.

We went to Scottsdale Pet Hotel (the available dogs are boarded there) and were asked to bring our existing dogs, which I liked. We spent quite a bit of time with Pumi (not his name anymore) and everyone who worked with us was really nice and very helpful throughout the process. We fell in love with our new family member instantly. We will be taking him to our personal vet, just to have him checked out, although he seems very healthy. We would definitely use this rescue again, and I have already told a couple people about them.

I searched and searched and searched on PetFinder and sent countless pictures of needy pets to my husband. Finally, I stumbled upon a picture of an adorable dog named Casanova. He stole my heart and I knew we were meant to be. The husband gave in. This dog was taken care of through the foster program at Mixed Up Mutts and Shepherds Too. I contacted his foster mom and we set up a meeting time. His foster mom was incredibly accommodating and went out of her way to find a home for this sweet dog. Long story short, we met and I adopted the dog that day. Now Rally (formerly Casanova) is a happy, energetic, well adjusted dog. I have a lot of gratitude for the organization that took him in time and time again after he was adopted out and then returned as if he were store merchandise. I know his foster mom took excellent care of him. I was so pleased with this organization and I found their adoption fees to be very minimal. Excellent customer service and consideration for animals goes a long way.

She's a part-time outdoor cat (mainly roaming the streets in the early morning) that chooses to pop in for a warm bed (usually my laptop) and some freeze dried space niblets (seafood flavored kibble). Ever since Gracie came into my life, a name I heard my neighbor's calling her, I've been trying to get her little things here and there to make her life better. As I type this, I see the cloud cat tower she's used once while getting a delivery alert for the outdoor house I bought her. So when I was at Whole Foods recently, I noticed this pet store right next door. With time to spare, I meandered in to see what offerings they had. Their dog selection is the majority of the store with two rows for felines and even less for other types pets you might have. They also have a dog washing station for those who might need to bathe Bruno. The price point is a bit higher but I believe you are supporting local. So while your buck might not get you too far here, at least it's going to a family-owned business.

You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We knew no one knew much about the little fella. He melted our heart, and our daughter had fish, hermit crabs, birds, and cats, but never had a dog yet. He melted our hearts. When we picked him up he grabbed onto us. And didn't want to be put back down. Needless to say we came home with a pup and cat food. He needed some veterinary care. After a week he was doing great. He has gluten, soy, and dairy allergies just like us, so he was a perfect fit. We were perfect for him as well since our eyes were open to his needs and how to feed him. We have had him 13 years now. He is 14 and is still the same happy silly pup. I don't know how they obtain dogs these days, but we are thankful he is a part of our lives.

I heard there were cat/kitten adoptions at Petsmart today so decided to stop in and see who was available for adoption! There were a few cages set up with cats and one with a few kittens. The foster with the kittens was friendly and started answering basic questions about the kittens but the actual rescue employees sat in the back corner avoiding everyone. Should have been red flag number one. I tried to ask about the cats in the windows (the ones always at Petsmart) he was stand off ish about it so I just went and looked through the glass. Then the guy (employee that actually does adoptions) went on break and left the foster alone. Lots of rescues and shelters either offer military/veteran discounts or offer a program called Pets4Vets. My husband is a veteran so when the guy came back we decided to ask if they do anything like that. He was immediately rude, scoffed at me and said "Not when I pay $260 to process each one and sell them for $175."First off, if you don't want to offer a discount that is completely your prerogative and it's everyone else's prerogative to ask if you offer one. Why is that so offensive to ask?! Secondly, you could have just politely said "No, we don't offer any discounts" and that would've been fine! I was so flabbergasted by his attitude that I just said "Ya know what, that was super off putting, I actually don't want your cats." And walked away. I got back to the car to look up this rescue because I'd never heard of them and there's no way regular rescues would treat possible adopters that way! I see that they have the worst reviews for adopting out SICK cats!!! Review after review about people spending thousands on vet bills after adopting from them on every platform. Please do NOT adopt from RAIN. They do NOT care about their animals or who adopts them. They just want money! Take your money to one of the MANY other rescues or shelters available in the valley and stop this "rescue" completely. They don't deserve to save animals.
