Of course I was worried (like with anything on the internet now) that it might be a scam but I felt right away after talking to her that this was real. We FaceTimed and she sent me picture updates and videos. We live in San Diego so we were trying to figure out schedules to get out there but she had already planned on a trip out this way so she offered to drive our puppy directly to us. AMAZING! We were shocked novody else was interested in this sweet boy and his foster eas very kind and informative to help us make sure he was a good fit for our home. They were also very patient with us running around to grab supplies. While the adoption fee is a bit higher than some rescues there is a tax break and it's nice that majority if the shots were paid and planned along with the neutering. Andy came home healthy with us and immediately took to his big sister who he loves so much. Since that time three years ago, we have been coming here with our other pug pets that we have adopted- not only for food, but for their veterinarian needs as well. The second time was in seeing the hospitals doctor whom "come to find out" was actually the owner! It was a professional & pleasant experience for our senior pug Mo. We've been back now numerous times for checkups and vaccine's visits with our newest addition Marvel and we have had nothing but knowledgeable, kind and helpful staff. Every visit has been very positive for our fury babies and they have been treated so well by all the employees. Note-They do have a long wait list so make sure you call way in advance to get an appointment. If it's an emergency for their hospital they do not have the ability to get your pet seen right away unless you "luck out" and there's a cancellation, but the odds of that happening are very slim. There is not an immediate "emergency" services hospital available here. Store-There's a nice shop adjacent to the hospital that offers many different types of pet products for every type of pet, Including treats, toys and healthcare merchandise to explore. They have a grooming salon, pet boarding and pet adoption program offered here too! Recommend- Highly suggest getting on their monthly newsletter which is sent via email. They send out detailed information to inform customers of their happenings. They also provide deals on their products & promotions so sign up for with their rewards program. This will be helpful if you are constantly seeming to purchase pet food (dry) like we do! If so, this just might bring you a free bag after you hit a certain quality! Once I entered into the grooming salon I asked to get y pups nails filed down. The lady had the nastiest attitude and asked me to step outside while she checked in her customers as if I was not a customer. This was the most unprofessional experience as if they did not want my business. I will add that I am black given I just noted they were hosting a Turning Point event back in April wish I had seen that prior because that explains everything. It's a sad time to see the inhumanity on full display. It's unfortunate that I am forced to give a 1 star.

It was a total hassle, horrible communication. And when we went to visit them before the adoption we were accosted by children at some sort of birthday party. The cats were STRESSED. WE WERE STRESSED. They scheduled our meeting with a birthday party for some young kids who were just flicking cat toys in our face and all the cats faces and running around so we couldn't interact like we would have hoped too. When we went to pick the boys up finally( 2 brothers who we were told wereNOT bonded but absolutely were.. thank goodness we took both)(..There was some sort of 'date' event going on and I had people swarming me constantly while I was trying to connect and CATCH the kitties we were taking home. It was a disaster. The price to adopt both was a Little outrageous as well considering you could tell they were fighting for food.... I appreciate what this woman is doing and please please adopt and don't shop, but be ready to spend some money and be frustrated trying to adopt.... Or even get a coffee from this cat 'CAFE'

She is honest, and sometimes honesty upsets people. But her honesty is what helps keep both people and dogs safe. It's not easy to be in rescue, especially when you can't always give people what they want, but Shelly never quits. I really wish more people understood how difficult rescue is. She genuinely loves these dogs and wants them to go into homes where they will succeed. Not everyone gets approved, but usually that is because the dog they are applying for isn't going to be a good fit for their home. It isn't a personal attack. Placing a large-breed dog that is powerful and intelligent is not as easy as it may sound. If you have never owned a Rottweiler and want to adopt one, Shelly is the person I would trust to tell you honestly whether a Rottie would be a good fit in your home. Rottweilers are very smart, and if they aren't given boundaries, they can become very difficult to handle. Making sure the right dog is placed in the right home is incredibly important. Shelly doesn't make any money from these dogs. I have seen people complain about adoption fees in reviews, and I think it is important to understand where those fees actually go. Many of these dogs take a long time to place, and they cost a lot of money to feed and care for while they are waiting for their homes. There isn't a bank account with unlimited funds in it. The majority of the dogs need medical care and training, and sometimes they need both. The rescue does not receive free veterinary care. They receive a small discount, but the veterinary bills still have to be paid. Adoption fees help recoup some of the cost of caring for that particular dog. When a dog's care costs less than its adoption fee, that additional money goes toward helping cover the cost of another dog whose care may cost five times its adoption fee. This is not a money-making business. There is no money in rescue. This rescue is run out of a genuine love for the breed and a commitment to doing what is best for these dogs. Shelly puts the dogs first, even when doing so means making decisions that people may not always understand or agree with. At the end of the day, she genuinely wants every Rottie to be placed in a home where they can succeed.

The doctor didn't want to examine him so late in the day without a sedative because it would've been a bit traumatic so we made a plan that if it bothers him again, I will give him something at home and then bring him in. I really appreciate that. They don't just want to do the exam And traumatize him since it wasn't an emergency. It was prudent to wait.
