    Yes 'Cer Gose with Currywurst
    Jarrod R.

Found myself in Greencastle, Indiana to visit the Putnam County Courthouse on a beautiful day about a week ago. Needed to grab a bite, so I strolled down to Lost Hollow Beer, which is located just a few blocks from the courthouse. It was past the lunch rush, but the team was more than happy to take care of me. By luck, they are in the midst of their "Hollowfest" season, so there were a few extra surprises on the menu. One of those was their Currywurst, which I ordered with fries and a side of their cheese curds. The currywurst had a nice kick, and the extra sauce was a great dipping sause for the fries. As for the beer, I went with the Yes 'Cers Gose, which is described as tart, with blueberry, lemon, and coriander. It did not disappoint. Lost Hollow has the saying, "Where everyone is a local!" on their social media, and I can see why. It does seem like a laid back and enjoyable spot to spend an hour or so with friends.

This is a great spot in sleepy Greencastle to have some craft beer. The place is huge. They also have a very nice covered patio which is dog-friendly.

We happened to wander in during their Oktoberfest celebration and had such a fun time watching the Mayor tap a keg. We got free beer too! Our food was great. They have a pretty traditional tap house style menu. Service was excellent. This is a great addition to Greencastle.

    All 4 were good!

Ate on the patio on a 90 degree day and the breeze kept it quite comfortable.

It wasn't clear what their hours were: the website said they were open until 4pm, while the hours posted Google and on the door said 2pm, and here on Yelp it says 3pm. They also had a paper sign taped to the door saying they would close that day at 1pm. Fortunately we made it there a half hour before closing, but it would probably be a good idea for them to sort that out across the various platforms. I ordered a latte with praline syrup which was nice (the cups and lids were kind of the best I've seen at a coffee shop, which is random, but worth mentioning) as well as a bagel and a donut. The donut was a chocolate long john and I asked the person taking my order if they were filled or unfilled. They said unfilled, which is what I wanted, but when I got back to my car, it was filled. My husband went in to place his own order, so he purchased another normal chocolate frosted donut and it was fine, but I would have been bummed if I had been on my own and gotten the wrong thing. My bagel was good and my husband enjoyed the coffee and pastry he ordered, plus my reject donut. ;) Looks like it'd be a nice place to stay and enjoy a meal or do some work, as there was a whole separate sitting area upstairs.

Anyway, walked into the cutest shop with wonderful employees ready to serve. Ordered a wonderful tasting espresso to go and a couple of donuts for the road back home. Tried the sprinkle birthday cake donut and a regular yeast donut. There were many options for bread choices and saw a large open space upstairs as well as a good amount of seating downstairs. Appears you can watch the bakery working while sitting as well, which is a nice add to any cafe/coffeeshop. PROS: Space is large and inviting Friendly staff Easy parking across the street or on the street Cake donut was great, needs a few more sprinkles but great Coffee taste was great, had a double espresso so definitely tasted the coffee Breakfast sandwiches were on the menu, did not try, but great option CONS: Yeast donut- depends on what you like. It is a thicker yeast donut not the light and fluffy I can eat 10 at a sitting type of yeast, but the taste was good HIGHLY RECOMMEND STOPPING INTO THIS ONE STOP SHOP!

My parents live in Georgetown, and somehow in all the times I've visited this gem never came up…read more You have to purposely go to this place. You won't accidentally stumble upon it. But it is absolutely worth your time to head out. If you are even remotely close it would be to your benefit to make the trip (even from Chicago or Indy). During the winter they weren't serving food, but they encourage you to bring your own food. I picked up Sonny's Pizza which went really well with the beer and completes your in-town experience. The inside decor is comfortable and inviting with heaters at every table. You can tell that the outside space is likely buzzing all summer long and I am told the food is to die for. One day I hope to make the trek to put that to the test. Finally the beer. The bartender was a joy to talk to and was willing to let us sample any beer we wanted. He said that was because they don't offer flights. The OATS! #4 was as good of a sour as I've had anywhere else. We also took the time to try their two Mad Goat Coffee beers (In case you don't know that is a local coffee shop in Danville that is also worth the trek). The porter was like drinking a rich nitro cold brew. I don't typically drink porters, but this one is well worth the taste. Everything we tried was very good and they had everything from porters, IPAs, sours, ciders, and everything in between. So everyone should be able to find something they like. Seriously, though, if you aren't convinced yet just do yourself a favor and go.

This was a great place to hang out outdoors while sipping on some brews. Plenty of seating, games,…read moreand serene scenery. The service was friendly. We had a few beers which were good. We also grabbed a bite to eat at the food truck. Not a fan of the food, but the beer was good. We will be back someday I'm sure.
