This authentic Mexican food restaurant in Vestal is awesome. The birria tacos were hot and fresh and even better dipped in the au jus. The drinks came out fast and everyone we interacted with was friendly. I will 100% be coming back for another meal read more

Tapatios was my family's Mexican restaurant of choice growing up, so my review is a little biased in that I have the nostalgia glasses on when I eat here. That being said, I think it's fully decent food, if not totally authentic Mexican. Lots of variety on the menu. I mostly eat vegetarian, and they have a good number of vegetarian options, but I do really like their seafood dishes. I don't think anything on the menu is totally vegan as-is, but you could probably make some of the vegetarian specials vegan by requesting no cheese. The food is tasty and I would say well-prepared even if the presentation isn't always fancy. It does tend to be salty. If you like cheese, any of the cheese-based dishes like cheese enchiladas or chiles poblanos will delight because they are very cheesy. Their chips and salsa are great - the chips always come out warm and the salsa is simple but fresh. First batch of chips and salsa are complimentary and refills are pretty cheap, but one basket is sufficient for us. I tried the "Cinco de Melón" margarita this time, a frozen watermelon margarita with lots of Tajin. It was a good margarita - I really liked the spicy Tajin with the watermelon, and the drink was appropriately strong. Always friendly service and fun atmosphere. In my experience the service is almost never slow. The waitress on our last visit was actually a little too attentive; it felt like she was coming by every few minutes while we were eating to ask if we needed anything, but definitely better too much than too little. I've visited some other Mexican-American restaurants in the area in the past few years and it seems to me that the quality and degree of "authenticity" at Tapatios is comparable to similar places, so my family continues to come here because of proximity and familiarity. read more

The Taco Salad Bowl that I ordered wasn't what expected . 1st I start by saying that the portion of beef steak was very small amount there was more onions and Peppers and Shredded lettuce in the Bowl very little Sour Cream was thrown on top. 2nd Taste was just okay it didn't move me like it has in the pass in other places. They claim Authentic Mexican food. 3rd There wasn't any type of traditional condiments such as Cilantro ,Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream should have been put in a cup as a option for people that might not want that on the food . I thought that there wasn't any care in putting this meal together thankfully I only spent 28 dollars as a test run. Would I recommend ? Definitely absolutely Not. read more

Food had an amazing flavor, everything was hot. The chips and salsa great flavor, nice heat !!

DENIED SERVICE DUE TO A PREVIOUS FEEDBACK Manager told me that according to the owner Deana Torres, Im not welcome due to a previous feedback and a complement to a waitress apierence. Honestly im glad it happened. I found a better spot, HACIENDA is a major upgrade, only 5m away. read more

I've been to the other Mexican places in the triple cities and I leaned real fast! This place is the very best. Don't waste your time with the other places. There's only one real Mexican Restaurant and this is it!!!!! read more

Best authentic Mexican restaurant in the triple cities. We've eaten here several times and always good service with great food! Has an authentic Mexican atmosphere as I have experienced when I lived in Colorado. Also the chips and salsa are fresh and excellent! read more

My husband and I took my parents here for a birthday lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. We were greeted and seated very quickly, our drinks came out promptly as well as the chips and salsa. We ordered queso as well. The chips were very greasy, the queso was very watery, and the salsa lacked flavor. We ordered and our food was out within five minutes. I ordered the chimichangas and I was honestly quite surprised at how small they were in comparison to other authentic Mexican restaurants. The side of rice, however, was very large. overall, this is an OK experience, but not some place I think we'd come back to. read more

My family ate here twice in 2 days so we obviously enjoyed the food. The taquitos were good. I enjoyed their special pineapple marinated pork fajitas. The margaritas are pretty good. Service was hit or miss both visits but in all fairness they were very busy. The restaurant is large and decorated colorfully with Mexican artwork. read more

Doves from Heaven for a hospital lunch. As I crack open my plastic and tin container, glancing at the cluster of golden crunchy mouth watering barilla tacos sitting in front of me, my ears were serenaded with the sounds of Hallelujah. My eyes were next drawn to the beautiful white doves that were being elegantly freed from the tacos on my coworkers plate as if they had been waiting a lifetime to open their breathtaking wings and take flight. Lastly, my eyes were blinded by a bright white light which I could only describe as what one might experience during a near death experience . Today's mid day siesta was nothing less than life altering and Heavenly. Next Tuesday cannot get here fast enough!! read more

The food is so inconsistent. I got enchiladas and they had less than a teaspoon of filling in each one. Usually cold food as well. read more

Being new to the area, I was looking for authentic Mexican Food so I tried Los Tapatios for lunch. We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered Fish Tacos and my companion ordered the Chipotle Burrito and we split an order of Chicken Fajita Nachos. We both thought our main dishes were very good. But we raved about the nachos! A nice variation and plentiful! We will return! read more

Los Tapatios - Fish Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Vestal, New York

Great casual Mexican food spot. I always get three simple tacos and add some toppings. Complementary chips and salsa when you first walk in, which are delicious! And the tres leches cake is one of the best I've ever tried. One of my favorite spots to grab a strawberry margarita and catch up with friends and family. A staple for college students as well. I LOVEEEE read more

Expensive for amount of food you get. Drinks are very expensive. No separate checks for more than five people. All on one bill and you have to figure it out. 4 percent charge for credit card usage. Now charge for more chips and dip. Not at all happy and I think they have lost business. No wonder. read more

Great for the family and friends also couple!! Amazing old fashioned service and food Also same old fashioned decor. We are regular and I have been to over twenty different states and still this close to my home favorite number one read more

I think there is a Mexican restaurant on every side of town in the Binghamton area and this is the Vestal spot. This one is busy because of the college but I still really like it here. They have a pretty large menu with an a la carte section. Full bar. I've never had a bad meal here but I will say the chips were a bit on the stale side today. Just an off batch probably. I'll be back! read more

Los Tapatios - $3.45 "small" on special Thursdays - Mexican Near Me - Vestal, New York

The food is always hot and great for authentic Mexican. The service is very good and responsive. Not the most talkative and more to the point but that's ok. It's a little dated inside and could use a good facelift but the food flavors make it worth a stop. The prices are decent and won't break the bank. read more

So good. I was happy to see that Covid didn't take down this restaurant. I haven't been here in a few years and I'm glad I found it again. It was so good. Food and service were outstanding. Thank you. read more

Good Mexican food but I need the tortas to come back expeditiously, ASAP. 1 dollar tacos was a stellar experience

Been here several times, but I'm coming more regularly nowadays for Taco Tuesday with my husband! Overall, I like the place since I keep coming back. The food is good, especially their Seafood Enchiladas and desserts! The ambiance is casual but the decor is bare bones. Very old furniture and some of the booths are slightly broken. Occasionally the service is slower or mistakes are made with the order (on Taco Tuesdays, particularly) and there's not a lot of service from the wait staff. But it's pretty much what I would expect for the price. If they improved in those areas, it would be 5 stars. read more

No expert on Mexican food, but this place had some pretty decent food. The complimentary chips and salsa are always a plus, and there was a good selection of hot sauces to put on food. I ordered a tamal, a burrito, and a enchilada, and they all arrived promptly; probably a 5-10 minute wait although the place was fairly empty. Nothing stellar, although I enjoyed it all. The decor was very strange, it's extremely open, and very quiet. They eventually started playing Mexican music, but not to much avail. Good Mexican food, strange atmosphere, I'd come back if I was craving Mexican for sure. read more

You can easily get better, fresher food at Moe's. Steak was dry, pre-cooked, overcooked, tough, flavorless, and I could tell it was just put in the juices with pepper and onions to heat it up....probably bathed in juice in the steam table. GROSS. Guacamole was flavorless, made with nothing but crushed avocado chunks that were not ripe. GROSS FYI folks, gauc has avocados, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, lime juice, garlic and salt. They give you a small tablespoon worth of Gauc and a tablespoon of sour cream for your whole meal. CHEAPIES Salsa had nothin in it??? No chunks of anything! It was basically tomato juice with some seasoning. GROSS FYI folks, salsa has chopped fresh tomatoes and onions, cilantro, fresh chilis, lime juice, and salt. Basically, my meal looked like I was eating a plate of soup. GROSS Oh, and they cant spare 10 cents worth of lettuce for a taco salad. LIKE SERIOUSLY GUYS? The amount of lettuce they gave me would have been about enough to top a burger. Wanted black beans in my salad, they don't sell black beans??? HUH! The Ice tea tasted like plain water. GROSS The waiter was just as bland as the food...didn't smile or say anything other than take the order. Don't expect them to ask you if you want more chips for the table. They were not stale, but not too fresh either, but I was left so hungry by not eating half my meal that I was hoping they would bring more out to dip in the tomato juice salsa. Overpriced and gross...place is very dirty too. I cannot fathom how people are giving this place good reviews! People reviewing said this place was authentic...five stars...ummm not even close! Don't waste your money! read more

Chimichangas are my personal favorite. Quesadilla are delicious as well. Fajitas are great. You really can't go wrong here with anything you order. The salsa is delicious but I do splurge and upgrade to the queso. Always fast and friendly service. Great prices. Definite must visit (repeatedly), best Mexican restaurant in the area. read more

I ordered soft steak tacos and margaritas. The margaritas weren't that good, there was barely any alcohol in it. The tacos were are mediocre and not even filled with much meat or veggies. You're better off going to Chipotle for tacos and to Friday's for drinks. read more

Large portions at a low price. Oh, and it's probably the best Mexican restaurant in town. I've been here a couple times and have left the restaurant stuffed as their portions are huge. Both times I get the "Make your own combination" with 3 items to choose from. The last time I was here, I got the enchilada, tamal, and burrito. It comes with a plate of Mexican rice and beans. All for less than 10 bucks. Oh and endless chips and salsa. Did I mention I left both times stuffed? If you're getting tired of the Moe's and Chipotle in town, give this a shot. It's quite different and the decor inside the restaurant is quite nice. read more

Best Mexican in binghamton Super cheap Mexican food. This is a must stop when I visit binghamton. Under 15 dollars for 2 people with tax and tip. I hate to be that person, but I was THAT person who always passed by the sign but never bothered to stop by and actually try it. Until one Sunday evening my friend called me and suggested we go out to eat. Who knew? Authentic Mexican food made by authentic Mexicans (or so it seemed), with complimentary nachos and salsa, and all the real condiments (habanero hot sauce, other sauces). I didn't leave a crumb. Great spot for the family. Kids love it there. Food is typically very fast to come out. We take advantage of Taco Tuesdays where tacos are $1. Family owned and nice people in there. The food is actually decent, but just decent. The place looks a little dirty and it is. However the most disturbing thing about this place is $8.75 for a well vodka! $8.75!!!! Ordered 3 steak tacos...they brought chicken. Try number 2 was beef, not steak. After finally getting the order correct everyone in my party was finished. My wife and I love this place. I typically gets fajitas tejanas at any Mexican restaurant and they don't disappoint. However, the star of the show here is the molcajetes! This used to be our go to Mexican. It was always consistent and delicious. I would love to know what changed. First of all the prices went way up. And the portions shrunk measurably. The salsa I would say was the best thing I had on my most recent visit. The restaurant was pretty dirty. Especially for a pretty empty place. We waited forever when there were tons of open tables. Our waitress must have hated her job. She was completely miserable. Made the entire experience awkward. The fajitas I had were the worst I ever tasted. My friends thought their food tasted like some sort of chemical. All of us got sick afterwards. It's to bad it got so bad. The place used to me great. read more
