The Taco Salad Bowl that I ordered wasn't what expected . 1st I start by saying that the portion of beef steak was very small amount there was more onions and Peppers and Shredded lettuce in the Bowl very little Sour Cream was thrown on top. 2nd Taste was just okay it didn't move me like it has in the pass in other places. They claim Authentic Mexican food. 3rd There wasn't any type of traditional condiments such as Cilantro ,Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream should have been put in a cup as a option for people that might not want that on the food . I thought that there wasn't any care in putting this meal together thankfully I only spent 28 dollars as a test run. Would I recommend ? Definitely absolutely Not. read more

Tapatios was my family's Mexican restaurant of choice growing up, so my review is a little biased in that I have the nostalgia glasses on when I eat here. That being said, I think it's fully decent food, if not totally authentic Mexican. Lots of variety on the menu. I mostly eat vegetarian, and they have a good number of vegetarian options, but I do really like their seafood dishes. I don't think anything on the menu is totally vegan as-is, but you could probably make some of the vegetarian specials vegan by requesting no cheese. The food is tasty and I would say well-prepared even if the presentation isn't always fancy. It does tend to be salty. If you like cheese, any of the cheese-based dishes like cheese enchiladas or chiles poblanos will delight because they are very cheesy. Their chips and salsa are great - the chips always come out warm and the salsa is simple but fresh. First batch of chips and salsa are complimentary and refills are pretty cheap, but one basket is sufficient for us. I tried the "Cinco de Melón" margarita this time, a frozen watermelon margarita with lots of Tajin. It was a good margarita - I really liked the spicy Tajin with the watermelon, and the drink was appropriately strong. Always friendly service and fun atmosphere. In my experience the service is almost never slow. The waitress on our last visit was actually a little too attentive; it felt like she was coming by every few minutes while we were eating to ask if we needed anything, but definitely better too much than too little. I've visited some other Mexican-American restaurants in the area in the past few years and it seems to me that the quality and degree of "authenticity" at Tapatios is comparable to similar places, so my family continues to come here because of proximity and familiarity. read more

My husband and I took my parents here for a birthday lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. We were greeted and seated very quickly, our drinks came out promptly as well as the chips and salsa. We ordered queso as well. The chips were very greasy, the queso was very watery, and the salsa lacked flavor. We ordered and our food was out within five minutes. I ordered the chimichangas and I was honestly quite surprised at how small they were in comparison to other authentic Mexican restaurants. Doves from Heaven for a hospital lunch. As I crack open my plastic and tin container, glancing at the cluster of golden crunchy mouth watering barilla tacos sitting in front of me, my ears were serenaded with the sounds of Hallelujah. My eyes were next drawn to the beautiful white doves that were being elegantly freed from the tacos on my coworkers plate as if they had been waiting a lifetime to open their breathtaking wings and take flight. Been here several times, but I'm coming more regularly nowadays for Taco Tuesday with my husband! Overall, I like the place since I keep coming back. The food is good, especially their Seafood Enchiladas and desserts! The ambiance is casual but the decor is bare bones. Very old furniture and some of the booths are slightly broken. Occasionally the service is slower or mistakes are made with the order (on Taco Tuesdays, particularly) and there's not a lot of service from the wait staff. Large portions at a low price. Oh, and it's probably the best Mexican restaurant in town. I've been here a couple times and have left the restaurant stuffed as their portions are huge. Both times I get the "Make your own combination" with 3 items to choose from. The last time I was here, I got the enchilada, tamal, and burrito. It comes with a plate of Mexican rice and beans.
