Been going here for at least 20 years -- prices have gone thru the roof ! Simple Carnitas plate -- now almost $18. Use to be $12 (ish). Most of the plate is Rice, beans and a tortilla some of the least expensive food items in the world and the carnitas are not seasoned very well (bland). Won't be going back. read more

I come here for lunch decently often. The staff is friendly and service is usually relatively quick even during lunch time for me. I normally order a wet burrito with pork or just the beans and cheese. The size of the burrito is pretty darn good for the price, I can sometimes make it two meals. The taquitos are just okay, a bit pricey for them.The nachos were just okay as well as they weren't really packed and was a bit on the skimpy side when I got them. Los Tacos has been a solid Mexican spot for those times you don't want to go to a restaurant but receive food of the same caliber to go. My usual orders are usually an Asada Burrito with Rice Beans and Cheese or the Full order Asada nachos. Both are delicious and worth the price. Don't forget to get their horchata too. Unless your sphincter is "Scoville Scale" hardened - beware. I'm still, after over a decade, working my way through their menu items. The reason- I usually end up eating the same things. A Super Burrito with Beef Birria, Carne Asada, or Lengua, or breakfast burritos- served all day- Machaca, or Chorizo. Their hard shell shredded beef tacos are among the best that I've eaten at a restaurant. I stopped @ Los Tacos today for the first time in 10-plus years. It was the same! The secret here is to get two huge hard shell tacos (I chose machaca and chicken, they have many meat and also veggie options) and a drink. It's only $14 incl tax and plenty of food for lunch! They are big tacos (not street taco size) and are jammed with meat, cheese and lettuce. Sooo bomb. Tacos like these are actually not so easy to find in LA! I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about prices or spice level. Hit the fresh salsa bar, and those spicy marinated carrots and jalapeños (the salsa included with my to-go bag was not spicy but there are others to serve yourself @ salsa bar free of charge). Such a cute old fashioned shopping center with lovely shade trees and easy parking. After several visits, hoping they would improve, Los Tacos is still serving very average food. The worst complaint is that some of the items on the menu are very bland. For instance, the "carnitas" tacos are filled with a flavorless gray substance that might have been overcooked shredded pork. The "meat" tastes like boiled cardboard. That's fine, but even boiled cardboard could use more than onions and cilantro to improve the flavor. Other tacos filled with carne asada or chicken taste much better. The carne asada tacos in particular have the right balance of flavor and are not overwhelmed with onions. Thankfully, Los Tacos doesn't dump a handful of salt into each taco like some other places. The tortas are acceptable, typically messy and filled with the usual substances, but for the price (about $6.00) they could definitely be better. The bread seems to be of lower quality and falls apart quickly, while the interior ingredients mix together into an indistinguishable paste. Los Tacos has a Super Burrito, which they obviously named for its size, not its quality. It is indeed quite large and heavy, filled with half a dozen ingredients you would find in most burritos, but the the preparation of the burrito is anything but super. The ingredients taste old, and it doesn't help that the burrito is served cold despite being wrapped in wax paper and aluminum foil. An old, cold burrito is not what I would call super, no matter how much it weighs! The combination plates might seem tempting but the inflated prices are a little excessive. It's possible to order most individual items for about $3.00, but in a combination plate with rice and beans it's $7.00? Difficult to justify spending double the price for a couple spoonfuls of rice and beans. At Los Tacos, the carne asada tacos are the best choice. Everything else needs improvement. read more

Worst burritos ever! I ordered 2 carne asada burritos today to go. When I got them home and opened them up, the foil was full of grease...quite literally DRIPPING out of the foil! It was gross. This is a great option for someone working near by. Yes parking is horrible but you can always park by vons and walk to the restaurant (5 minutes walking distance). Great impression; everything was super clean. The cashier was very friendly too. The carne asada tacos tasted good although the meat was a little bit dry for my taste. Definitely not the best place for tacos. Voted best by who??? My husband & I passed by & saw the sign so we stop by. Don't let that sign fool you.. not even close. Horrible customer service. Margarita & another lady behind counter pointed the finger at us when they failed to give us part of our to gos. Never been to a place where you asked for your to go, they give it to you but supposedly you have to ask for the " FULL" order. On top of that we found out they over charged us for 2 tacos but won't refund us. We tried telling them but they were back to finger pointing. They catered a birthday party for us. It was a backyard party for about 50 people. Service was great. They came early and set up everything. Their presentation was nice. The food was good. Many of our guests commented on the beef soft tacos, fresh guacamole and the taquitos. The real star of the party was the blended margarita! At the end, they cleaned up and put aside the remaining food for us. To give you an idea about their service: at the end of the party, they accidentally took one of our ice scoops when they left. The next day, they drove back to our house just to return the ice scoop. We plan on using them again for future parties. read more

The tacos were alright. But what really makes this a 2 star review is that their fish tacos aren't deep fried. And even worse, their fish (at least at the time I tried it) is old. It had that fishy, staley taste of...unfresh fish. And their chips are what I call "healthy" nachos. They aren't fried enough, so it kinda tastes like pita chips. Their other meats were pretty good, but it was just their stale fish that really made this a bad experience for me. 10.85 for a burrito , you've got to be kidding me . I was in a rush with a short lunch but I didn't order chips or a drink that's a crazy price for a burrito just because I added cheese. A couple weeks ago one of my friends in my bible study brought an order of carne asada nachos for us to snack on while we waited for dinner to arrive. They were pretty good Fast forward to Monday night. I browsed the menu and they had all the regular: tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas, combo plates, and a couple of other Mexican food favorites. But of course, I came for one thing: the carne asada nachos. You have a choice of either a full order or a half order. Half order? Pft... pansies.... So I got a full order of carne asada nachos. The nachos usually come without the meat for $5, but if you get the asada, it's $1 more. With tax, it came out to a whopping $6.50. As a shared appetizer, that's not bad at all. Of course, this was my dinner and not just a snack. I brought it home and dug in. It came with the asada, beans, salsa, cilantro, sour cream and guacamole and cheese. Pretty good and very satisfying.
