    Delivery through DoorDash
    Natty C.

Ordered through DoorDash for delivery and I think I've found my new local taco spot. They are the real deal and taste very authentic. Huge portions and very good prices. I got 4 tacos for under $10. The chicken quesadilla was huge too. They have a lot of menu items but I think I'll stick with the tacos. The al pastor (pork tacos) was delicious! My order came with two different sauces which was appreciated.

Tacos de Tinga (spicy chicken). To die for

Oh my god these are the best tacos I've ever had. I got the Tacos de Tinga, which is spicy chicken. They were moderately spicy and numbing and the chicken was extremely tender. The tacos also had avocado, cilantro, a grey stringy thing I'm not sure about. Doesn't matter, tasted amazing. Corn tortillas were firm and had a nice bite texture to them. On the side, there was salsa verde, cucumber slices, and lime which pair so so well with the tacos. Salsa added a bit of kick with jalapenos (I believe), the cucumber added good texture with its crispness, and the acidity of the lime helped as well. I was full after 3 tacos but ate the 4th one anyways. No regret!

Soupy avocados - not guacamole. No cilantro or lime. Lots of cheese? Soggy chips everywhere.

The search continues for my local go-to Mexican restaurant... I had high hopes for Los Primos - they're a 12 minute drive from my house & made their own tortillas - but the food and service was disappointing. We ordered our food when we arrived, and when it came time to pay and leave, I asked the cashier if they had "really, really hot salsa" and he responded, "You don't need that, we gave you lots of green salsa." Confused, I asked him if it was "really hot" and he said that it was more "medium" in heat. So I asked him again if they had something hotter, and he started rambling about a salsa they "sometimes have." He spoke very clear English so I'm not sure why we couldn't quickly arrive to an answer (hint: no, they didn't have "really, really hot salsa"). He came off super dismissive and it really put me off. That aside, I'd happily eat my food with medium salsa verde had the food actually been good. But alas, not so. My flautas were slathered in crema and queso fresco. The guacamole was the biggest disappointment. It was super soupy, thin, and seemed to lack cilantro and lime. They also added queso fresco to it and I'm not sure why. To add insult to injury, they laid the chips on top of the guacamole, so the chips were half soggy by the time we got home. Overall, quite disappointing. Will not be back.

This was probably one of the best Mexican places I have ever been- my boyfriend and I go all over the place for tacos we would travel 35 mins to a taco spot in jersey city, we decided to try out this spot in Roselle and it was AMAZING the flavoring in the tacos were sooo good, we will definitely be back- no longer have to drive to jersey city for good tacos besides tacos all the food sounded delicious and the prices aren't bad.

a menu for a mexican restaurant

Los Primos isn't like the other Mexican restaurants in Roselle, but that doesn't keep it from being a great place to dig into some excellent food cooked with love by folks from Puebla Mexico. Your trip into food nirvana starts by going down a flight of stairs into the basement of the building that Los Primos is located in. Basement restaurants are cool, and this one is no exception, it feels like you're going to some sort of secret club. The vibe inside the restaurant is definitely on the cozy, hole in the wall side, with a big screen TV on one wall and 5 tables packed into a tight space. The walls are covered with black and white pictures of Vaqueros, and ads in Spanish, giving it a sort of "TGI Fridays meet your local taqueria" and it certainly ads to the cozy feel. The staff are friendly too, happy to answer questions in English rather than have me attempt in broken Spanish. They explained several menu items to my dad when he had questions and were happy to make recommendations to both of us. Even if everything written above wasn't true, this place would still get 5 stars based on the food. The menus is based on the cuisine of Pueblo Mexico and in addition to the usual suspects(burritos, tacos, quesadillas filled with chicken, carnitas, al pastor etc.) they have Pueblan fillings like cecina and arabes, and flor de calabaza. If you've never had any of these, you're in for a treat! My dad and I ordered 6 tacos, with two of each of these fillings and were delighted with the range of flavors. Each one has it's own distinct taste and texture, from the dry and salty cecina to the fatty and tender arabes and the crunchy and distinct flavor of the flor. Of course you don't go to a Pueblan restaurant without getting a Cemita, and I wasn't disappointed. The bun is perfectly crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. My cemita was stuffed with sliced avacado, tomatoes, cilantro(not papalo like), tons of Queso Oaxaca and more delicious arabes. Right before I bit into it, the cook came around and suggested that I spread some of the chipotle salsa on it. The salsa was smokey and hot, which served to balance out the richness of the cheese and meat in my cemita. Our final bill, for 6 tacos, 1 cemita, one GIANT burrito(my dad could write his own review about it) and 2 jaritos was $24. Los Primos joins the likes of El Popocatepetl and Antojitos Mexicanos as the holy trinity of Taquerias in Roselle. Every time I go to visit my dad here I'm sure I'll find time to get something tasty from Los Primos.

Authentic, fresh ingredients, and little gem in Roselle. Small hole in the wall, and easy spot for a well priced quick meal. You walk down steps and you find a charming, well decorated spot with Mexican Tchotchke and religious image of our Lady Guadalupe (I think), feels like you're at a relative's home. Right at the front is the grill and where they make their hand made tortillas, pressed and grilled in front of you. We ordered to go before we got there so we didn't have to wait. I would expect there's a bit of a wait for your food to be made After all they're literally making it fresh. We had guacamole and chips, beef tostadas, and chili relloños. Didn't get to take a picture because we devoured it. There's sitting inside but also sitting outside at picnic tables. I'd come back there again. Posting their menu really for me.

Great food! However, a bit pricey. It's worth it though. The tacos are dry. The quesadillas, tostadas, sandwiches are out of this world.

We waited over 30 minutes after ordering for our food. I ordered tacos al pastor, which I thought were delicious, but as you can kind of see on the red tray where the food came on, it was very greasy. Lime also didn't have any juice, and small avocado pieces that came with the nachos we also ordered were not ripe at all. They were hard and chewy :(. I also very, very much love green salsa, but by the time I was finishing up pouring it all over my last taco, I found hair. I understand these things happen + the avocado/lime may not necessarily be the restaurant's fault as maybe it isn't the right season for them, and I truly wanted to get over it, but I'd truly prefer no hair at all in my food. Not the best experience. I did end up finishing my tacos because I was starving, but my partner left more than half the nachos he ordered. I do wish the restaurant the best as the ambiance was nice and I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but definitely could use some work as it's little things that can make a difference. :( Thank you anyways!!!

For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own. Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or "The Little House Taqueria," we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading "Tacos Open" and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor. Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand. We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn't help but notice the trompo--the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to "in the style of the shepherd." Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s. The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn't get enough. The portion was a healthy size. The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable--we can recommend this place.

The al pastor is hands down the winner (and bonus- you can actually see it rotating on a spit towards the front!). I also never had sliced cucumbers or grilled green onions served with my tacos before, but I actually loved them. I joked to my husband that I'd happily order a whole side of those grilled green onions again (which are actually offered on the menu as a side order!). The lady who served us was also very sweet. The restaurant isn't fancy by any means, but I'd happily come back again for the food.
