The waiter was inattentive and did not know enough to inquire I had to do things for myself. Getting the busboy to get things for me because the waiter was unavailable. Wish I could leave a zero star! We sat at bar for convenience as we were only a party of two and the place was full. The wait staff kept piling up dirty dishes and glasses beside us. We asked numerous times to remove them from beside and now in front of us. Really? I shouldn't have to ask that! They don't own a dirty dish tub or cart? I have been eating at this establishment off and on for the past 14 years. The last 3 or 4 times I have visited this restaurant the food has been absolutely terrible. Now granted I did get a couple of to-go orders and your expectations can't be quite as high when you get to go orders however the food still needs to be edible. And it was not, not only did I throw my burritos away but my guests also threw their enchiladas and whatever else they got to the dogs. I have eaten Mexican food all over the United States. This is some of the best I have ever come across. Chips are tender, salsa is exceptionally good. We have been coming here since the day they opened. Initially service and quality of food for the price was their top priority. Over the years we have seen a decline in concern for the customer. We have tried to return to the restaurant in the past few weeks, but have now been overcharged two or three times and we're never sure where our server is, or which one is ours. Today it got worse. Got our bill after chasing someone down and we were charged for top shelf drink when we ordered well vodka and also charged for tortillas to go with a Mexican Omelette. ...which I've been ordering for 20 years. I'm impressed, plain and simple. I'll admit it, my expectations were low at first glance. With an overuse of window tint and a surprisingly empty parking lot on a Sunday evening, I wasn't expecting much from this Los Pericos (I've frequented the Huntsville doppelgänger often). Upon entering the bar, I knew this place was run like a well oiled machine. An immaculate and highly organized bar welcomed me, as did a trio of servers rolling silverware while a hotly contested Barcelona v. Madrid Liga match raged on behind them. I was greeted with a smile and a rather strong, yet delicious, frozen, strawberry margarita. After taking my time on the menu, I ordered the fajitas, a true test of any TexMex restaurant's mettle. They were fantastic. Grilled to perfection and marinated in the what I'm assuming was the basting sauce of the gods. The onions, which were obviously tossed in with the meat at exactly the right time, delicately balanced against the carne asada, adding another robust flavor to the palette. Daringly hot and freshly diced jalapeños from the kitchen topped everything off with a perfect spice. For a single serving fajita plate, the portion was more than generous. The rice and beans, however, were overwhelmingly standard. This restaurants only average mark in an otherwise perfect score. AIl in all, it was a perfectly pleasant experience. If you're rambling through this sleepy and charming town, I would highly recommend a visit. It will be worth your time. read more

One of the better Mexican places in town. I've never had bad service or bad food here. That being said, it's a Mexican restaurant. It's noisy, can be really crowded, and is very laid back, which is why I like it. If you go in for lunch, and need to get back to work, just tell them and they'll speed up your order. We can drive up from Conroe, eat, and be back at work in under an hour. The food is consistently good, the prices are comparable with any other Mexican place around, and the people have always been friendly. We go regularly, and I don't see that changing any time soon. The ONLY down side is that they're so popular that you may have an extended wait if you go during the peak times. IMO, that just shows how good they are. read more

You can tell by the enormous parking lot and how many cars there are that this is a local favorite. I love the salsa. I wish I could buy a jar of it. We enjoyed our first meal there and my husband emptied both salsa dishes! That's right everyone gets his own serving salsa dish. (Double dip to your heart's content!) Went back a second time to try other menu items and were not disappointed. At lunch the multitude of windows makes it bright and cheery.
