This is where the plastic came from

So as you can see by the pics a long piece of plastic was found after I took a bite, almost choked on it. The restaurant still made me pay. No one should ever eat here, there are much better Mexican restaurants around

    Meat nachos with extra beef.

Ordered beef nachos with extra beef and 3 beef tacos fully dressed, needless to say, fully dressed only means with pieces of lettuce and cheese and the hard taco shell was actually dehydrated and chewy and the nacho tortillas were so rubbery and flimsy with all the hardened SALTY beef and dried melted cheese stuck to it that I couldn't even eat it. The food still hasn't changed since 2016 when i last ate here.

Wonderful authentic Mexican dining! Well worth the trip! We kive over an hour away! This place is so nice and neat and very clean. The decor is very festive. Every room is painted with fun and colorful murals. Our waitress was so adorably sweet and fun and helpful. There are many excellent food selections on the menu with very fair prices. We had the Molcajete. Plenty of food to feed a small family!! Our food came out very quick, fresh, and hot. Everything tasted great! We were both full and satisfied! We will gladly return again! Worth the hour long drive!!

Always liked their food! Fresh clean and humble quite but busy spot! Love their fajitas and most regular menu items. Bring cash or card to pay at entrance before leaving restaurant. Drinks will get you drunk if not taken moderately.

Margaritas are huge, food is good, portions are big enough, staff is friendly. Although, I ordered Chile Releno and it was filled with hamburger instead of steak, what I'm used to in California...

Food is exceptional, I have been chasing a feeling and have never been satisfied until now. You…read moreknow that feeling when you experience "The Best" and it ends up imprinting on you more than you think? When I was a young lad on the coast of San Diego, there was a little shop called "Bull Taco" Where the surfers after exhausting themselves frequent. The softest corn tortillas, the tastiest asada. With a balanced spicy salsa. When I had that taco I didn't know I would be chasing that taco feel 15 years later. But I tell you, today on June 15th 2026, all is well. When I eat this food I am reminded of a simpler time, when my most important problem was the heat of the salsa. When I experience the food here I am taken back (You know like that scene in Ratatouile) to being a young Mayan child - I have no Latin roots - I have just came back from playing that ball game they play with their hips. And my mother has prepared me a meal that will not only restore my body but eases my spirit. You might be saying to yourself this dude is smoking crack. YES I am but still the food here is delicious. I can taste the history in the beans and salsa. I can feel the mastery of flavors. Whoever is in the back is not a cook but an artist. An artist who has studied their craft. This food raises questions like "Who are you?". "What are your desires?" and it clarifies with a statement I AM FOOD WITH A RICH HISTORY. The hardest part of life is recognizing the beauty around us. Imagine if you had a neighbor who was super chill and never imposed on you and was always helpful but you never initiated a conversation or got to know each other better. Imagine you never stopped to smell the roses, or eat Centenarios tacos. I am not saying this taco will change your life. I don't think food has the ability to do that. But I will say I miss my mom, I am a long way from home. This food eases that pain.

Big chairs, fun artwork, etc. The bar area is in the center of the restaurant with loads of places to sit. There are at least 12 tv's with all sports imaginable playing along with ice road truckers :) Something for everyone! Perfect start- warm spicy salsa and creamy beans. And the chips are perfect! We ordered the ribeye tampiqueño, which comes with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, one cheese enchilada and fresh tortillas. This steak is FLAVORFUL!! The cheese enchilada was perfectly balanced with loads of creamy cheese in a pillowy soft tortilla. I highly recommend. To finish there is an ice cream machine by the door. Perfect experience.

The drinks are festive and generous--we usually downsize so we can pay closer attention to the food. The salsa is fresh (though quite spicy), and the other two dipping sauces were fine. The multicolored tortilla chips (red, green, and yellow) appear to be store-bought. One of us always orders the nachos; the other always orders the burritos. The nachos have come out burnt on two visits and soupy on others--something we hadn't encountered before. The meat in both dishes has repeatedly arrived with an off color that concerned us. On our third visit, the person who had the burritos became ill afterward. We're not sure if the owner is the "Viejo Tony" the name suggests, but the desire for the restaurant to succeed is real. We still hope things improve.

We came in during the week for a late lunch/early dinner, so missed the rush of customers. We received awesome service. As soon as we were seated, we received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were salty and warm and the "medium" salsa was very nice and had a good heat to it. Later on, the waiter brought us another basket and two more salsas: a salsa verde (green, mild) and a creamy hot salsa. They were all good, but I preferred the medium myself. We had a bowl of queso to go with the chips and it was enjoyed by all. My DIL had the Chile rellenos with the chicken Tinga (shredded chicken & veggies). She loved it. Lots of soft cooked peppers and plenty of chicken and cheese. My son had the Birria quesadilla, a unique way of serving Birria. My husband and I both had the Cheesy Birria Taco plate, which came with 3 tacos, rice and beans. The Birria tacos were so delicious. The meat (shredded beef) was incredibly tender and savory, with generous melty cheese. The consommé dipping sauce was super yummy. My husband opted to swap out one of his tacos for chorizo meat done in the same style and he thought it was fabulous. The beans and rice were pure comfort food. Flavorful and every bite perfect. Now my son had Sprite because he was the designated driver but the rest of us indulged. My husband had a Modelo Negro with a frosty mug and then had an almost Tequila Sunrise. He loved both. My DIL and I both had margaritas. They come in 3 sizes, regular, large, and jumbo. We were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the large. (Just how big is that jumbo? LOL) She had the passion fruit margarita and I had the regular lime, both were absolutely delicious. Our waiter was fantastic. I didn't get his name, but he was a handsome, tall gentleman from Puerto Rico. He treated us like royalty, while being super efficient and kind. If you are in the area, you really must try Festival Tacos. My kids come here often and bragged about how good it was. Definitely not an exaggeration.
