This is my second time coming to this restaurant in the fishing village in Popotla. I come here to eat the spider crab exclusively. I haven't really tried any of the other items on the menu as I am sure I could probably get tacos, ceviche and other seafood dishes better elsewhere. But if you want the spider crab this place does it great. I paid about $35 for a large size crab and they can make it in a variety of styles. We get it garlic butter (al mojo de ajo) but you can also get it "a la diabla" which is a spicier sauce. The garlic butter is very garlicky but not overwhelming. If you are a fan of garlic this is very delicious! There is a ton of meat in the head. They give you chips and salsa and also some complimentary shrimp ceviche as well. The place is rustic but the view is fantastic. The whole back of the restaurant is a window. The staff is very friendly and you can ask if you can take a picture holding your massive crab! They chop it up and deep fry it and then cover it in whatever sauce you choose. They also cut some of the pieces but if it's not they give you a big rock and a piece of wood. It is very satisfying trying to crack it. Although the tables could be a bit sturdier. It feels like you are going to break the table before you break the crab. I will be honest I never tried any of the other restaurants there. I always go back to this one because I know it will be delicious. I give this place a 4 only for the crab. read more
