Came here for a quick late night bite last night and was not disappointed. The food was homemade and flavorful. Large portion, fair price and clean place as well as great service.

Amazing Mexican food with variety of meats (pork skin, etc.! The tacos had good taste and kick. Soups on weekend

I have tried tacos all over Tulsa. Los Hermanos has a nice selection of menu options and friendly service. It's just a bit slow as they cook everything to order, so if it's busy, it can be a wait. Tacos are good though - I have tried chicken, steak, chorizo, and pork. The grapefruit and orange Jarritos soft drinks are my favorites. Tortillas are homemade right in front of you, as is all the food prep.

Since The Kid was out of school on Fall Break, and it was a Tuesday, she not so subtly asked me where we would be eating Tacos for lunch. Since we were in the area, we let Yelp! find us a great street taco place, since The Kid (aka Tacocat) is about all things Taco. The place is fairly large, with an adjacent dining room and plenty of parking. Seating is all tables and not at all crowded, with seating for around 60. The printed menu is pretty small and to the point, but features some dishes that you just don't find in a lot of other place, such as huaraches, sincronizadas, sopas and gorditas. Also posted on a wall was the menu de dio, which had a couple of things not on the printed menu, so I'd definitely look at that as well before ordering. The food is pretty simple and straightforward without flair or frills. That's not to say it's not without flavor and depth. The Kid had 2 carne asada tacos, and I had a couple of same along with a chorizo and carnitas tacos. All came liberally garnished with cilantro and diced onions on fresh, hot corn tortillas, with lime wedges and sliced radishes on the side. Also brought to the table were bottles of a red and green salsa. Both salsas paired equally well with any of the tacos, and additional shakers on the table with an oregano-herb blend and a spicy pepper blend was a welcome addition to the garnishment. While enjoying the tacos, I found myself comparing to similar fare I've had, and Los Hermanos stacked up quite well with some of the better efforts I've had in town. If I could offer up any critique, and it's just that, not at all a complaint, is that the meat could be a little more flavorful. Maybe a little more char on the outsides possibly. As it was, while quite flavorful and good, it just lacked about a "half an oomph" of flavor that would have taken it over the edge for me. Still in all, I was more than happy with what I got and will not hesitate to return when I'm in the area. Very clean restaurant, with very, very nice people running things.

Reviewed January 11, 2019 Health Score 75 out of 100 A great, truly authentic Mexican lunch. No complimentary chips and salsa, but don't let that keep you away. This is a small, clean and friendly staffed restaurant that has an authentic selection of Mexican dishes. I had the usual carne asada and my wife had the chicken enchiladas. I ordered an extra chili toreado, but it does come with one. The chilies were Serranos instead of jalapenos that are usually served at the Americanized Mexican restaurants. They were good. The beef was a little tougher than most I have had, but it was okay. The chicken enchiladas were good and packed with shredded chicken. The meals come with beans, rice and a little lettuce /salad. They provide a selection of two salsas for the food. Hand made fresh tortillas come with the meal. You can watch them being made. The tortillas and the friendly service really stood out. There are several dishes on their menu that seem to be big hits with the locals; the tacos and the sopes. Next trip, I will give them a try. If you eat here be sure to order a chili toreado to go with your meal. We were glad we gave this place a try. Note: This review and photos were originally posted on Tripadvisor by Spike S.

Tacos Los Hermanos = good to great tacos, but not the absolute best taco I've had. 1. Service was very friendly. I was a little worried that I would have to dig up some high school Spanish, but English was fine. Also, the lady who took our order had FANTASTIC eyeliner. I say this with all seriousness. 2. They take credit cards. Score! 3. The tacos themselves were good, but not mind-blowing. Each one was topped with chopped white onions and cilantro, and came with salsa, radishes, and lime wedges on the side. I tried the carnitas, buche, and lengua. I liked the buche the best, but they just lacked a certain OOMPH. TL;DR: Good, but I think there are better tacos out there.

There's a parking lot in this plaza, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. They offered complementary chips and dips (salsa and queso). We ordered additional guac. The chorizo queso is sooooo good! I ordered the birria taco plate and I'd say this is very authentic compared to food back home (California)! They were generous with the birria and the consome is chefs kiss!!! The staff did a wonderful job in assuring our needs were met and that we were satisfied. I hope this place is just renovating and hopefully will reopen in the foreseeable future. I would love to see this place continue to thrive!

Really good and would order again. Rice and beans were probably above average. My dining partner asked how the chile relleno was prepared. (He doesn't like the eggy batter.) We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. I would go back when in south Tulsa. Not sure I would make it a destination. (Well, maybe. Those enchiladas were good! It is a cute place.

Even though the website suggests…read morereservations, we called to check if they accepted walk-ins, which they did so that's good to know that both options are available. As what was stated over the phone, the moment we walked in, we were seated. The place is very intimate in space, I'd recommend for dates. I went with the Enchiladas, something I've been craving for a couple of months & La Tertulia helped that fix. There were a few meats to choose from & I went with chorizo. The wait on the food wasn't long (people were starting to fill in as well & it didn't stop the servers from being on point) & the food was really good. Coming in with 3 enchiladas, stuffed with the chorizo & the fixins, I was left full after I finished. The spanish rice & pinto beans were good as well, paired good with the enchiladas. The chorizo looked more like breakfast sausage more than the chorizo that's more on the dark brown + reddish tint I'm used too. The enchiladas also come with chiles (I picked green) & plenty of cheese. Side Note: Chips & salsa were also super good, my favorite type of salsa. Kinda like a Taquera/Molcajete style. I was so hungry that the chips & salsa didn't slow me down from running through my main entree.

It's well-worn but clean. Staff is quick and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. You'll leave full, but not bloated. I've been a fan of El Rio Verde for many years and always look forward to eating here. It's not a large place and only has perhaps four or five booths and a half-dozen tables, and it fills up fast at lunch. They're known for their "Wet Burrito," but the enchiladas and burritos are also outstanding. The refried beans are fresh and made in-house. The salsa is freshly made too and very good, but not memorable like the food. You'll see people from all walks of life eating here - couples, single moms with children, police officers, business people, blue collar workers, and everyone in-between. If you want really good Mexican food that is not TexMex or from a chain restaurant, try this place! You won't regret it! One of my favorite places in Tulsa. However, as of this review, be aware that Utica Avenue, just east of the restaurant, has been blocked to north-bound traffic only for water main replacement, so getting into the neighborhood is easier than leaving. Plan to go toward downtown on the service road next to I-244 for most efficient egress.
