I don't know about the rest of the food at this place, but I was very disappointed with the food I was served. I ordered an asada burrito and it was by far the worst burrito I've ever had. The meat was a cut of high proportion of visible fat. The excessive fat made the meat greasy and less flavorful. I do not recommend this to anyone. read more

I had seen an add for this place while surfing yelp and was excited to know that the old fresh grill is gone and this place was in! I came in around noon and it was packed! Took a look at the menu, and noticed they had a California burrito! (My favorite). The girl at the register was very nice and dealing with the lunch rush extremely well. I felt bad in a way ordering a California burrito being that I search the 805 long and far for the best ones and I didn't want to judge a brand new place on something that I'm secretly extremely passionate about lol. When it came out, the burrito was cut perfectly in two halves to display the work of art that lay inside. No blind bite, everything on the table. The fries were crispy, the asada was grilled and then possibly tossed in a delicious spice sauce. The avocado was fresh, the burrito rolled perfectly tight and uniform with no seeps, or cracks. The taste was amazing on its own, but their salsa was dynamite and complimented it well! This California burrito climbed easily into my top 3 places in Ventura county! So glad it's close to home here in Ojai! I'll definitely be back and can't wait to try other offerings! read more

I just got a California burrito from here and it was delicious. The fries were super hot and the meat was fresh. There were avacado slices instead of guacamole which is different but I enjoyed it more actually. The burrito was a good size for the price. The lady working during my visit was so nice and friendly. She was a one person show doing the register, cooking, and cleaning all efficiently. I strongly recommend coming here based on my visit as the inside was clean and inviting. read more

So sad that the new ownership has let this place slide down so far. We got enchiladas and chili rellanos. Both were inedible. They looked like they were microwaved. Hard and chewy enchiladas and the rellanos looked like they were breaded and greasy. No sauce on either so both dishes were dry and the flavor made me spit it out. Believe me if I could give no stars, I would. I have an hour lunch and work 5 minutes from this restaurant. When I ordered, the woman at the register was talking on her personal phone not about work. My friend and I stood in front of her for about 2 minutes before she looked up to help us. My friend ordered 7 tacos. Then (separately) I ordered 1 asada burrito. No extra anything or special request. We were told it would be out in 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes passed and my friend finally got her tacos. I waited another 10 minutes before I went up there to ask about my order because people who came after me were getting their order left and right. She told me it was coming up. But I over heard the kitchen staff and her talking in Spanish saying something about it not being written down. Mind you, I speak fluent Spanish. Another 10 minutes passed and they called me but it wasn't my order. It was a phone order and extra things were added to the burrito. Then the cashier woman started to blame the other lady saying she took my order and I told her, "no, you took my order." They said they didn't have a ticket for it and they would make it right now for me. It was not 50 minutes later. I told them to just give my money back because my lunch was about to be over and I didn't have time to wait. When I asked for my money back. I asked for the money back for the water I also purchased. I only bought the water because I needed something to drink for lunch. I left my water at work. She argued with me about $1.50. She got really rude and said she doesn't know how to work the register and that's why I didn't get my order. I took the money and left and she continued to holler about the water as I walked out the door. Worst service ever. Will never be returning. First impression was the worst impression. I don't blame the woman who was cooking. I blame the cashier who was more invested in her personal call then doing her job. read more

This place is awesome, so glad the old fresh grill is out and Los Comales moved in! The food is amazing and the service is stellar. The owner and his wife are super nice and the young girl with glasses is always smiling. It all makes for a wonderful "food experience". I went in and checked this place out after avoiding the previous "restaurant" like the plague. I was pleasently surprised at what I found. The first thing I noticed was the absolutely lovely gal at the register, smiling from ear to ear and friendly as could be. She welcomed me like an old friend, and asked what she could get for me. I asked about what meats they had avail and she proceeded to list off damn near anything you could want lol. They have tripas!! She even asked how I wanted it cooked. I got six tripas tacos, three asada, three pollo, and a side of chips n salsa. After paying just under $20 (WOW! Talk about a deal!) and waiting less than 10 mins, I was eating some of the best tripas I've had in a while. The tortilla was soft and warm, the tripas was crispy outside and creamy inside, and the toppings where crisp and fresh. The salsas where very nice and they have a great variety. I will definitely be going back, for both the fantastic eats, great value, and the lovely service! read more

This is the best Mexican food in ojai! It's clean, the food is fresh and the service is extremely welcoming. You will never get sick here as the other Mexican restaurants (Casa de lago).
