First time here - the place is absolutely beautiful, spacious and very clean! They have a playground for the kids which has turf so very safe. Their Cafe de Olla is probably the best I've had in Houston! Absolutely delicious The fresh chicharones & salsa were very flavorful! The rice & beans taste great but the carnitas need some flavor! Service is impeccable! A definite must try! I will be back to try their breakfast!

The name literally means "little pig" so be advised that this is a pork restaurant. Don't come here expecting chicken or beef, pork. The good thing is they do pork really well. Big parking lot in the back. Inside is big and clean. I think the inside is so big they probably don't have enough servers to cover the entire space. Starting off, once you get seated they bring chicharron and an assortment of salsa. There was a sweet, green medium and a bit spicy red. My partner ordered the Jamaica and I ordered the cafe de olla. The Jamaica was not too sweet and not too sour. The coffee was delicious. I think I would have like a touch of cream with it but it was good on its own. We ordered the pork tacos. You can choose between lean, moist or mixed. These were delicious and the tortillas were great. And we also got an order of crispy pork belly. It comes with a scoop of guacamole. This is perfect for the keto/protein diet. I found the pork to be a touch too dry, but loved the crispy top. We didn't get dessert but did note that they do breakfast. Looking forward trying that in the future.

Great new place off 45 in Spring tucked next to AutoNation. Staff super friendly! You can walk up to the taco bar and order food or sit to eat. The interesting part about this restaurant is their primary meat is pork they serve shredded pork tacos wet or not...carnitas is what it's typically called. They make their own tortillas and desserts...so good! Plenty of seating I love the colors very vibrant. They have an outdoor playground for kids to play in as well. So great for everyone.

While the restaurant interior is large, the parking lot is about average size, funny because they offer shuttle service in the parking lot to the door. We were maybe less than 100 feet from the door and offered a shuttle, which did make me chuckle. Service was fine. The food? Nothing really stood out. For a place focused on carnitas, the meat wasn't particularly tender, nor did the seasoning standout and the prices high for the portions. The salsa was good, as were the tortillas. Probably a good space for large groups.

I honestly don't know what any of the complaints are. I've been here four times since they've opened and have always gotten great service. Maybe it's a little pricey, but we're not talking TCs or Uncle Julio's, people. We're talking a good, family-owned restaurant. Today, I had the Cochi-roll and a jamaica. Very generous serving of carnitas on one of those kind of lobster-roll buns. I don't know if this is on the Mexican menu, but it's a nice sandwich. They have a new salsa too. I'm a huge fan of the hot and sweet combo, so I liked that too. It's most definitely worth the drive up from the city.

We went with a party of four for a 6 pm weekend dinner and were seated immediately. The waiter came by promptly to take our order, which was easy enough to give with the concise menu. We got the marranitas platter and cactus salad (a good combo to split between two people for a non-heavy meal), the horchata, and the Jamaica. We all saved room for dessert after seeing rave reviews about everything offered on that menu, and thoroughly enjoyed the cornbread, lemon ice cream, and orange ice cream. Will be back for a quick lunch!

came here on a monday evening and we were seated right away. the waiter/waitresses were attentive - asking us if we have any questions about the menu and checking up on us regularly! the restaurant is well lit and super clean. large enough to accommodate large groups. as for the food, it is in the pricer side for mexican food. without any salsas, the tacos were lack flavor. the waiter brought me a sweet chili sauce & that made the taco very good! the other two sauces were a bit too spicy for my taste enjoyed the cornbread pudding - came out warm and gooy

Was lookong forward to trying this place as I love authentic foods. My family and friends came in for an early Friday dinner. It looked like a food court, but was a table service restaurant. The space was big and ypu could see the kitchen preparing meals. Tables were spread out and there was a lot of empty space. Playground was a nice touch but primarily more useful for littles under 6. Men's bathroom had complementary carnations blossoms to give to your female companions. Servers were pleasant and friendly but super slow. It took 30 minutes to get the cactus salad. Had to ask serveral times for waters, lemon, eating utensils for everyone. We were goven jalapeños in soy sauce when we asked if they had a spicer dipping sauce than valentina or tapatio. I was w my friend from Veracruz and she was not impressed by the food nor its presentation either. We wanted to love this place but found the menu very limiting for dinner and the pricing surprisingly robust for what we were given - different from tex-mex offerings. I don't mind paying for authentic foods and specialities, however, all the meats came out dry and overcooked, which made the price point more perturbing. Unlikely to come back for dinner or lunch. Maybe breakfast will impress more should I get the bug to go again with a new audience?

Hmmm this was a very tough one to review the service and ambiance was fantastic the kitchen area and restaurant spotless the 2 servers were great nice but a little pushy as a first timer there I like to look at the menu and not feel rushed into a decision. The food was good but in my opinion lacked flavor or pizazz needed to really solidify a reason to come back. The tacos were packed and had some good cheese but the beans and rice were lacking and didn't give the support needed the chicharones you get instead of chips are crispy and delicious with their salsa that taste homemade.

Just opened - Los Cochinitos. New awesome restaurant in Spring, TX. Great food, cold beer, chicharrones instead of corn chips - what is there not to like about this picture??? Had the ribs with sweet salsa - they were amazing !!! Wife had pulled pork tacos and they were amazing !!!! Not TexMex and very delicious !!! First restaurant in the US. Started in Mexico in 1959. We will definitely be back many times

A pork belly taqueria that's 100% Mexican. Amazing service and plenty of seating along with a kids jungle gym to keep the little ones entertained. No chips and salsa just complimentary chicharrones and salsa. The red salsa packs a punch but delicious nonetheless.

The restaurant is pretty large with a mix of warm lighting and natural light depending on where you're sitting. It seems as though they may be renovating in certain spots of the restaurant the time we visited. Our waiter Dave was friendly, attentive, informative, and efficient. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. We took advantage of their happy hour for drinks. We each had a Cadillac margarita which was pretty good. My friend and I chose the Marisco bowl. I chose the meat combo of chicken/steak and she chose the chicken Marisco bowl. My other friend had the chicken quesadillas. The food was fresh, but in my opinion lacked flavor. I loved the prices of Gringos, but did not like my dish as much. My friends enjoyed their meals. As the night went on the restaurant became full. They have complimentary ice cream and cones for dessert that patrons get themselves. When we attempted to partake, the cones were gone and the station was messy from patrons not cleaning up after themselves. I would return to this location again and try a different dish. I would also recommend this business to others for decent happy hour drinks and food.

To be fair, it is my own fault because I tried El Mariachi a year or two ago and thought it was gross then. However, I know everywhere deserves a second chance so I thought I'd give it another try, especially when I saw it had such a high average rating. Let me first say, service is INCREDIBLE. Truly could not ask for better. The hostess was really sweet and she stayed kind even when I could tell she was overwhelmed by all the people. We had multiple servers come by to check on us at various times and do things for us and they were all great too. Absolutely 0 staff complaints. I ordered a watermelon margarita and couldn't drink it. The syrup was completely separated from the actual drink. I left it completely full and while I didn't want to complain, I was surprised that I wasn't asked if it was okay. Had I been asked, I would've told them. My husband thought his house margarita was good, but he did order it frozen and it was already half liquid by the time he got it. The food was not good. I took one bite of my beef taco and pushed it to the side. It was essentially Taco Bell meat. No shade to Taco Bell, but if I wanted that, I would've just gone to T Bell. It sure would've been a lot cheaper. My cheese enchiladas were also not good. I asked to have sour cream sauce on top & was charged $2 for it. I wasn't told I'd be charged extra and didn't see anywhere on the menu where it said that. Even so, $2 for sauce is crazy, but $2 for sauce when the enchilada ALREADY comes with sauce on top and all you had to do was replace it?? Wild. The queso was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It's the only thing I was able to eat. Not my personal experience, but two tables in our same section had issues with their food too and had to send it back. $85 for that is crazy. I'm glad so many seem to enjoy it, but El Mariachi will never see me again.

I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal.
