What a pleasure sharing easily one of the best meals I have ever had with my in-laws. Lots of love, laughter and food. Tijuana has the food scene going on.

    Decor on wall.

This place is an awesome little personable mariscos spot with some seriously creative drinks. Growing up in Hawaii I husked, ate & drank so many coconuts that I began to hate them. But upon seeing what Los Changuirongos does with them I quickly headed straight over to see for myself on my next trip to Tijuana. These guys got super creative anding mango, tamarindo & artistically cutting up the meat from inside the coconut. They stuffed enough shrimp, fruit & interestingly enough a garnishing of carne seca to easily feed 2 people. It seriously delicious dude. Apparently Los Changuirongos gets its name from their signature drink. The drink is similar to a super fresh paloma made with fresh grapefruit, lemons & tequila served in a clay pot. I could of drank these all night if I had planned to spend the night in TJ. Also on the menu was a michelada that looked like it was a helicopter made of carne seca & a variety of fruits. That was pretty damn dope Overall it's a nice new place with some decent TVs, a sweet sound system & friendly staff. Defiantly a cool spot from some creative, tasty & visually stimulating food & drinks.

I came here on a Sunday around 9:30 PM, shortly before they closed at 10 PM. Despite arriving late,…read morewe were seated quickly. The restaurant is a large space with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is really cute and inviting. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. He even had a portable charger available for my phone, which was very convenient. What we ordered: *Aguachile Reina: This was delicious and had a little kick to it. If you're sensitive to spice, this might not be the best choice, but for those who enjoy a little spice, it's a great option. *Rock Shrimp: Absolutely phenomenal. This was probably one of my favorites of the night. The flavors were amazing, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. *Tuna Tartare: Another delicious dish. The portion size was generous, and they bring out chips to enjoy with it. We also enjoyed tequila on the rocks. They have a large liquor and cocktail menu. The food came out in less than 10 minutes, and everything tasted fresh. This is definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out when you're in the area. It's conveniently located just across the border, making it an easy stop for great food, good service, and a fun atmosphere.

They never made me feel rushed and were incredibly kind the entire time. The hamachi tostada was absolutely delicious, definitely the highlight of my meal. The shrimp taco was good, but it didn't stand out quite as much as the tostada. Even with a bit of a language barrier, every server and staff member was so friendly, patient, and welcoming. The service really made the experience. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Tijuana.

When I came in to pick up my food there was no one at the host stand and it seems like there was one waiter running the whole show during busy lunch time. This place named itself "sushi bar," but it also says it's an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant?…read moreThat feels like an identity crisis lol. I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.
