I eat here frequently, but I don't think I will after today. There's always Mexican music playing. Today, the two guys were cracking side jokes to each other while prepping my food (which I thought was odd bc they kept staring back at my husband while speaking to each other) and one walked into the back with his gloved still on (he was making my burrito first) and the Mexican music goes from music to Candace Owens' podcast and she rambles on about how the black men killed by police are not martyrs and how she does not agree with BLM... I was so upset that I just walked out bc I refuse to give my money to a business that blatantly would play something so controversial. Of all of the times that I have been in that restaurant, they have never strayed from Mexican music. I then called to speak with the manager and the guy who went in the back and put the podcast on (who said his name is Pedro) said he was the manager. I asked if there was a way to contact the owner so that I could speak about my experience so that I do not have to leave a review, and he said there is no way to contact the owner. This place is great! Definitely on my faves list for Mexican food! Food - AMAZING. Solid menu with great choices, and everything is made fresh. I ordered the California Burrito but asked for shrimp (extra cost) instead of chicken or beef. Absolutely delicious. The portion size and price were pretty good too. Service - GREAT! I came here two different times. The first time, I got a chicken bowl and my boyfriend got the burrito with the spinach on it (I can't remember the name, sorry!) We were both very satisfied. The workers were nice too! I really liked my chicken bowl; I especially loved the corn. I like how it's not like a "corn salsa" from Chipotle. The second time, I think I was the first customer of the day. I got a steak bowl and I can't remember what my boyfriend got, haha. I wasn't impressed with my steak bowl because I didn't really like the meat, but my younger cousins ate it up! Overall, it's a good price for good food. I will definitely be back. :) read more

This place is a banger and the food is superb. Unlike all of the other self-proclaimed "fresh Tex/Mex/Southwest grills" out there, this place actually utilizes the grill for your order. So, you know your carne asada is as fresh as Pusha T's new cd. Not quite a hole in wall, maybe a few notches above that...Their lunch menu is a simple one price for all and makes ordering seem less.... intimidating. And the cholo looking dudes behind the counter are a nice touch...they're hella cool and look like they just stepped out of a scene from the movie Blood In, Blood Out. I love it in here. Reminds me of the one time I visited Sacramento and had my first real burrito at that one place in the hood. Thought we would try this place based on YELP reviews, and man were they right! Nice clean dining room, food made to order. I mean the meat cooked right in front of you not sitting in a pan for who knows how long. I had the El Burrito Loco which has chicken, Carne Asada, shrimp and chorizo grilled with peppers and onions, with rice and choice of beans all wrapped in a giant tortilla and topped with their creamy smooth queso sauce. Wife had the carne Asada nachos. Mountain of tortilla chips loaded with meat and queso sauce , added extra cheese and guacamole. They have several hot sauces and fresh pico de gallo. Best burrito I've had! Better than Moes and Chipotle Probably because they actually cooked the meat made to order on a grill. Burrito was STUFFED too and best part about it the cheese dip was GREAT! They used to have a horchata machine but not alot people order it so they don't bring it out much. They do have some Hispanic sodas which hit the spot well. We stumbled upon this Mexican gold mine by accident and even though the cafe looked busy (based on the cars surrounding it) and the size of it we took a chance and wandered in. While there were about 10 folks in there half of them were taking their food to go. And actually, by the time our lunch was ready everyone else had cleared out (though that didn't last long). I ordered a Hawaiian quesadilla which was so delicious and full of meat and pineapple. I'll pretty much order anything if it has pineapple in it. I had rice as a side which was so fresh and tasty I could have made a meal out of it alone. I'm not into pico de gallo but theirs was so fresh I would have sworn they had a rooftop garden. Everything was prepared quickly and with the freshest of ingredients. The folks were super nice too. They only get one ding; their coke drink fountain mixture was off. Too much carbonation. So to update this place has gone down hill since the first time I tried them. To be fair I have gone 2 more times since my last review and it's been the same.No one greets you I ordered the fajita nachos that should come with the peppers and onions like they did in my original review pic they did not this time. I agree with another person if you get the woman run the owner definitely is better.I have always gotten the nachos separate from the toppings (makes for no soggy left overs) and the woman acted as if it wasn't possible even though I have done it before. The nachos and drink came to 11 bucks which before with the portion and the freshness to me was worth it but now quality has gone down and I am no longer impressed. Won't be returning. read more

Update to my original review. I really loved this place, but I have been a few times now and it really depends on who is cooking. If the man is cooking it's great and u get a lot of food. If the lady is cooking turn around and leave. She has zero customer service skills. She gives u no where near the same amount of food and it's not seasoned the same. Nestled somewhere between "Virginia Beach Mexican" and "Chipotle" Los Burritos has it's own little niche nicely carved out. They had a full assortment of options available, and I always like seeing my food prepared fresh on a grill. I opted for my personal favorite, chorri pollo. My only quip was that the sides my lunch guests got with their standard burritos was different from mine. This isn't to say my sides were bad, but I had thing where you look at someone else's plate and sorta wish you had ordered that instead? WOW! Just had this place and if you bypass this and go to Moes, Chipotle or Qdoba, you're insane. Had the shredded beef burrito - the beef was like a solid Cuban Ropa Vieja - smothered in their hot red sauce. Excellent. Also tried the shrimp tacos and they were equally excellent. Nice fresh food and friendly environment. They have vegetarian options. However, they do NOT use separate utensils when cooking between meat and vegetarian and everything is cooked on one grill. No for the vegetarian/vegan purest. I talked to them about it and how they could use fresh utensils and clean a section of the grill before cooking the veggies. That being said, I had the veggie burrito and it was good but it was very sloppy and messy to eat. I probably won't go back because of the meat contamination. read more

I visited this establishment on a whim. I wanted something fresh and vegetarian and decided to give them a try. Upon entering the building it was fairly quiet, yet clean and so I proceeded to the bar. I was greeted by a young lady who called for a young man to come and assist me. They seem to have a pretty good variety of items to choose from. The menu which was posted up on the wall was pretty vast. I inquired about brown rice or a whole wheat tortilla which they did not carry. So I opted for a bowl and just omitted the white rice... I loaded up with Pinto beans, salsa, pico, corn, peppers and onions, and fresh guacamole. It came serve with chips and salsa which was nice. And the price wasn't bad at all. When I ate it I loved it! I would certainly visit the place again. I would encourage them to have a brown rice or whole wheat option but to each his own. Again I would visit again. read more

No itemized receipt so there's no way to breakdown cost and know what we really paid for - other than the shock. The meat had a great flavor however, as well as being cooked to order. So that's a bonus. Carne Asada fries were not bad. If it was the best burrito I'd had in my life, I wouldn't mind the $42 cost. But sadly, it wasn't. Under new management! I use to love coming to this place. I've spent so much money here over the years and as of recently it has not been the same. The old management was very friendly and welcoming would greet you upon arrival and departure. The manager would ask how is everything? This manager does not!! The prices has went up. Today I paid $17.81 for a burrito and a pineapple drink. I asked for additional sour cream and cheese sauce and I was charged an additional $2. When i asked why the prices went up the response was, "I'm not sure if you've been going to the other places but here the ingredients are expensive." Well now that was a slap in the face seeing that this was my 3rd time here in 3 weeks. No receipt given to see where the influx are in the prices. Customer service sucks. Not the same place. Probably will not be returning. This is an example of nothing good last forever. read more
