The food here was amazing, great portions for a good price too. Sadly didn't take any pictures, but this would almost be worth the 6 hour drive from Tampa by itself! Despite it being 5 De Mayo the food was delicious. It took me back to my days back in Chicago eating at a Mexican joint in the south side. I didn't have high expectations due to the high volume of people. Third visit now. This place was not a fluke. The service is top notch and the food, the food is great. Good portions and great flavors. Today we tried their fried stuffed avocado. That's right fried stuffed avocado. Give them a shot. I'd hate to see this place go away. read more

Food was tasty with plenty of variety but the music was kinda loud and the atmosphere was strange. Large open dining area - and a large area with no tables - in which patrons could view the employees just standing around. Asking for more beverage seemed to put one (of the three) server who tended to us out. My husband and I went here with high hopes based on the reviews. The food really was not that great at all. We did enjoy the queso and salsa. I ordered chicken enchiladas, the meat was very dry, the lettuce was brown, I really wanted to ask for a side of sour cream but no one ever checked on us... which was odd since about five people came up to ask if we were ready to order in a three minute span. My husband ordered tacos, he didn't like they used two corn tortillas on each taco, he also mentioned the meat was very dry. Worth the drive from Effingham while passing numerous Tex-Mex restaurants. The staff is always super friendly and the food is great! Even if you see a wait outside, give it a stop because you usually can get right on the bar to eat. There's a big round table if you have a group that sat about 10 of us comfortably. read more

Not a good food establishment. The interior is dirty and the furniture is mismatched. In order to accommodate a large party the employees retrieve a long folding table and chairs from the back. They did not wipe them off before proceeding to place utensils on it. Waitstaff needs to be trained in service and hospitality. They looked very sloppy and unkempt. The Food quality is poor, greasy, and tasteless. I will never visit the Resturant again...yuck! read more

They didn't put any silverware in the bag, again my fault for not asking. However, forgetting part of my order, and the dressing for my salad was a big no-no. I was too far away to just go back. Regardless of where you live in the US, there is most definitely a Los Bravos, Los Amigos, Los "generic" or some standard "texmex" themed and named family restaurant. This place is not that. So glad I found this place. It was truly MONEY!!! Remember, the litmus test for any tex mex is the salsa. Are you getting the fresh, mild acidity from the tomatoes? Yes. Are you getting an initial and after taste of finely minced garlic? Yes. Do you get a fresh bit of cilantro and cilantro stem depending which chew gets the cilantro nestled between the molars? Yes!!! The salsa was terrific and fresh. Reminded me of an old staple in San Diego, El torrito. Who orders an appetizer at a Tex mex spot!!?? Get the fried avocado and just inhale it. Really good, unique item most of these El "insert name here" spots can't touch. The poblano enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, and carnitas were out of this world delicious. I couldn't be more impressed with the food and service. Anyone coming or going from Savannah needs to check this spot out. It's that good. read more
