We were searching for a late lunch after a funeral and found this on Yelp. (That's practically the only way you'll find it if you don't live here.) It's an open area on the lower level of what used to be a mini-mall. There are offices and shops on the main floor and Los Amores is downstairs. If you have trouble with stairs, there is an elevator but you have to search for it. It's not immediately noticeable from the street level. This seems to be a family-run restaurant. Since it was so late for lunch there weren't many people there, but I heard one woman say she comes there every day for lunch. I got the shrimp tacos and added avocado slices. The tacos were very good! We also got fried ice cream and THAT was terrific. I would definitely come back. I didn't care for the complimentary chips and salsa. Don't know why, but that's just what I thought at the time. There was a sign saying they have Trivia Night and other events throughout the week. read more

This place is a bit crazy, located in the basement floor of an outdated, liminal office building in downtown marion. dont let that fool you, this was very good, reasonably priced mexican food. I had the burrito and wife had the fajitas. Food was very good. Portion sizes were filling with enough for leftovers. The service was pretty good, with a single waitress handling the crowd. I'm from California. Maybe I'm spoiled with good mexican food, but this is far from that. I would never eat here again. I got fajitas. Steak, if you'd call it that, was terrible. I dont even know how you screw up a steak but it was gross. I had like 6 huge tomatoes CORES. The core! Wtf? Chips are store bought as well as the salsa I'm sure. Really a poor experience. We tried Los Amores for dinner the other night. The restaurant is clean and the staff were all very friendly. The menu is limited, but hopefully it will expand as they mature. My wife had the Arroz con pollo and Asada. It was a healthy portion and very tasty. I had quesadilla al pastor and a side of refried beans. The quesadilla was really not large enough to stand on it's own. It tasted very good, but you would expect to have some actual pineapple in with the meat in this dish. While the meat had a tinge of pineapple taste, I had no pineapple in the quesadilla. The refried beans were very soupy, which made them very hard to eat as you are only given a fork in your silverware. Again the food was good, but I hope that they will continue to develop their menu and plate presentation. If they do not I am not sure that they will be able to compete for long against all of the other established Mexican restaurants in town. read more

Some of the best fajita tacos I have ever had! The best corn tortillas ever and I have eaten a lot of Mexican in a lot of states and spent weeks in Mexico. This place is LEGIT! The chips and salsa are great, and the guacamole is one of my new faves as I love chunky quacomole. Absolutely loved the overall look and feel of the restaurant. Loved the brand. Today was my first time at Los Amores, I order Fajitas Mix chicken and steak, there were very juicy and very flavoring, served with Rice and beans lettuce, Sour-cream and picó de gallo, The portion it was very generous. I also order 2 Tacos AL Pastor, it was amazing, the richest seasoning of the meat, marinade with the sweetness of pineapple, cilantro and very tiny dice with onions cook to perfection it making it the perfect taco, one of my favorite. And because they recommend me The Carnitas, I also order 2 Tacos of carnitas. Very well cooked Juicy and tender pork carnitas, serve in corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Wonderful staff, everyone is so welcoming each and every time you go in there. The food is incredible, the queso is amazing as well as the salsa. The salsa has the perfect ingredients and the cilantro hits the spot to give it that extra flavor. The chicken is so tender and seasoned to perfection. By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in town! The others chorizo can't touch what this place sells! We eat here normally a couple times a month. Service is ALWAYS perfect, and all of the staff are very friendly. They know me by name when they see my face. I can't think of another restaurant that I've ever been to that does that. It is located inside a historic building and it ts in the basement and you can look up to the bottom of the 2nd floor. If you haven't tried this place you should. I found this place through their advertising at Taste of Marion and honestly I didn't think it was the best, but I wanted to try the store out anyways. I'm so happy I did, the prices were really friendly, and the food was amazing. I was upset that they charged extra for cheese and lettuce, so I didn't order it because I didn't want to pay the extra money for it.
