Of all the souvenir shops on State Street, I HIGHLY recommend Only In Santa Barbara as your go-to…read moreshop. Okay, so I might be a little bias because I found a keychain with my name on it (which almost NEVER happens. Melanie and Melinda are the lucky ones). As a matter of fact, when I told the cashier that I was excited about the rare find, he walked away from me to bring me back the bike plate with my name on it. I squealed in excitement and he asked, "Would you like the bike plate too?" This tells me he wasn't selling me the product, he wanted to SHOW me another product with my namesake. Positive customer experience, the staff knows their products and store, and UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) clothes. I checked every souvenir shop from top (away from the beach) of State Street down to 'Only in Santa Barbara' (towards the beach) searching for a Santa Barbara ornament that best represented my vacation. I found it here. Basically, if you want a Santa Barbara souvenir, find it here.

I wanted to pick up a little gift for her possibly some new jewelry. We had a little bit of time before we were headed back to San Ysidro Ranch for lunch with family. There were two women working that day, and neither one could take the time to greet us. I made eye contact with both employees and neither made an effort to say hello or offer assistance. The attitude was cold and off putting. I hardly leave reviews such as this, but the experience left me with a sour taste. Especially when I was short on time and left empty handed with no gift. I wasn't about to make a purchase when the staff didn't have the courtesy to even say hello to myself or my daughter.
