There are so many food choices in the Hangar and around the Exchange it's hard to choose where to eat. We decided to have food inside the Hangar from Ike's Sandwiches, Jaybirds, Tenori and Tastea on the outside. The food was good as usual. The exchange has indoor and outdoor seating. There is a grass area and other places to sit around the exchange. It's a perfect place for people and dog watching. The ambiance in and outdoors is great. There are lots of food choices & plenty stores for shopping all around the exchange. There's even a Whole Foods available. Parking is plentiful all around the exchange. Saturday was a festival day so there were plenty vendor's available for unique shopping. The LBX Exchange is down the street from the Long Beach Regional Airport and has two nice hotels and other eateries including a Starbucks in about 5-7 minutes walking distance. The Exchange is a friendly and safe place to hangout. The Exchange is also kids and dog friendly. It's also a cool place for date nights. It's a fun place for all ages. I recommend the Exchange.

However... with a single story comes a TON of walking. Be prepared for that! There's a lot of your standard mall stuff here, so it's not worth mentioning about the department stores, but the mall portion is a fine experience. There are lots of clothing stores and dessert places, and there's a movie theater and some nice restaurants, but I will say there's NOT much to do as a fun activity for families with small kids. Older kids will have some things to do like VR or build-a-bear, but smaller kids will not. Food court is fine, there's some good options and I actually like that it's next to the entrance/exit of the mall so you don't have to be "stuck" in a second story hidden area forcing you to walk by stores while getting out of the mall. Standard mall food court options like Sbarro, it's really just a place to hang out. Again, nothing special, but super clean and open space brings this to an average 3/5 for me.

You have Whole Foods on the corner and right inside the strip mall which is an open air somewhat small mall. There's parking structures on either end but when we stopped by the gate wasn't working so we ended up parking across the street. There's plenty of parking everywhere so you'll find something. It's not a big area but does offer some cute shops. You'll have some of the retail chain stores with Atletha, Warby Parker, Urban Outfitters, Brixton, Nike, Anthropologie to name a few. Some cute fun jewelry stores, stationary stores and so on. There's even a cute little brewery right in the middle of the strip. It's a cute place for family to bring the kids and pets. People are out enjoying the outdoor. As Easter is coming, there's going to be an Easter bunny on site. It's somewhat a very little outdoor mall. A few dining options surrounding the area. There was a good amount of people walking around but not like the crowds during the weekend. You have people walking around with their pets and others just enjoying the sunshine. Some of the stores weren't open when we arrived. They still have the arcade and carousel area that was open. Walking along the boardwalk and looking out to the waterfront and marina was very nostalgic. It used to be the usual weekend outing when I lived here. Catching up with friends, walking along the bike path and enjoying the waterfront. There's still a few of the old school restaurants that's been there for years. Tequila Jacks, Yard house and of course Parker's Lighthouse. Later on around 3pm the boardwalk did start to pick up as happy hours were happening. The good thing about this area, it's literally a couple minutes walk from the convention center so it's good for people when they're in town for some kind of convention. The crowds tends to be pretty mellow. Students, families and out of towners. A nice waterfront boardwalk with some cute shops and restaurants. There was a live bands performing in the middle which was nice to watch them playing some fun tunes. It's not extremely big but big enough to spend some time there. Plenty of parking in the paid lot. 2 hrs free with validation.
