Mi Mexico Lindo - Chicken tacos!!!

Great place. We've been for Mexican groceries (I don't know anywhere else around you can get a lot…read moreof the peppers etc) and for another time for takeout tacos. We brought the tacos over to The Other One brewery next door (which they allow) and had a fantastic date night. The al pastor was delicious, we both found the barbacoa a little boring and I'd skip the guacamole entirely next time. However the house made tortillas and other bread goods are so soft and flavorful. We'll be back.

We haven't been here since they've expanded and it's much more comfortable now! There is room to…read moresit and enjoy a meal separate from the grocery portion of the restaurant. We all really enjoyed our meals. Most of us ordered the three taco combo (any three tacos on the menu) and a side of rice and beans! While the tacos are very simple, they are quite tasty. The carnitas pork taco is really tasty, especially with the pickled onions! Yum!! The steak tacos had good flavor, but there was definitely grizzle to be found in them! The chicken was great! All of their tacos are served in a double soft corn taco, which helps them stay together through every bite! Overall, the tacos here are truly authentic, full of Mexican flavors, and perfect to cure any taco craving! Now, the only thing they need is a liquor license to serve some delicious margaritas to wash down the tacos!! . Service was okay. They forgot silverware, so we sat for a bit unable to eat our rice and beans (or add them to the tacos, which is what I do). They also forgot two side of rice and beans, brought one after a reminder, but the final one was never received! We all left full and happy, so that's great! We will definitely go back again! PS. They have a full menu, much more than just tacos!! **We were so hungry that I forgot to take pictures!

Nicely styled cantina with tavern vibes with great tacos and other Mexican food options. Would like…read moreto try their drinks sometime soon as well. Service was great, despite there being only 1 server when I was in. Food was great. Had the carne asade fries to start, it's served on crispy waffle fries and the carne asade was super tender. I was about to go for some Birria tacos but decided to try something a little different and ordered the chopped cheese burrito. Delicious. Looking forward to coming back for more!

Well I decided to give Tipsy Taco Cantina a try after hearing mixed opinions about it. With that…read moresaid, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. Knowing that, I started things off with the pizza empanadas and the results were not good. To explain, the empanadas themselves were crispy and fresh. However, the inside was disgusting. The sausage tasted rotten and the marinara did not work at all with the empanadas. If the empanadas were filled with chicken or beef they would have been pretty good. After that, I ordered the Crunchwrap Supreme with chicken for my entree. Sadly, it was not enjoyable. To enumerate, the tortilla was fine, but the chicken was dry and tasted weird. Similarly, the cilantro creama was nasty. It was over the top sour and didn't work at all with the crunchwrap. The food was simply disappointing. When it comes down to it, Tipsy Taco Cantina is a below average restaurant that is not worth eating at with so many better options in the area.

We went because of the reviews. Mistake. They do a great job with their photos (whoever is doing…read moretheir social media should be congratulated), which bear very little resemblance to the food. We arrived on opening time (noon, not eleven, be aware) very excited to taste unusual things like empadanitas. Wanted to try the tacos Supreme, guacamole, homemade chips, and a few other things. The first indication of trouble? No guacamole. Nice lady behind the counter gestured to the fridge and said the avocados hadn't ripened. What were they doing in the fridge?! Second issue - no ice. Come on, folks, it's the first day of a holiday weekend! And then, out of crispy tacos. Wait. It's all supposed to be home made. How can you be out of crispy taco shells if you make them from tortillas yourself? The beef tacos (not crispy) were okay. The pico de gallo was almost all onion, which makes sense if you shop and know onion is cheap and tomatoes cost more. The empadanitas tasted and looked like they'd come out of a freezer - supposed to be chicken and potato, but I couldn't for the life of me find anything but slightly mashed potatoes in them. We broke one in half, each had a taste, then left the rest. Found out the guac and chips could be had as just chips and pico de gallo - for the same price! Seriously, since when does fresh avocado cost the same as a pico de gallo made mainly of raw onion? On top of that, I asked if the mild salsa was avocado as advertised. Yes. But there are no avocados? Is it fresh? Yes. (Rolling eyes.) Tostada. Crisp tortilla bottom (what a surprise. So it is possible.), small amount of what tasted like American cheese, cubed chicken (no, it couldn't be fresh, the pieces were all exactly the same size), grease, followed by... you guessed it. Onion with a smattering of tomato and a lot of something green that should have been cilantro but had no taste. The chips tasted home made, but cooked to the point where they were hard to bite into. Mainly, we were stunned at a bill totaling almost $60 (with tip) when we left most of our food and no one even bothered to say "Was everything okay?" let alone try to fix things. Maybe it was a different cook? Maybe they close during holidays? But this food was awful. This area isn't a hotbed of great Mexican or South or Central American food. Most people are happy with places like LaFiesta, okay. But from the reviews we'd thought this would be pretty authentic. It was anything but.

Bye-bye, Rosa. No more for me, thank you. The rotisserie chicken with beans and rice was the one…read moredish that made Rosa stand out for me, and now it's gone. That was the main reason I kept coming back. Without it, I honestly don't see anything special about the menu anymore. Most of what's left feels like the same typical Mexican food you can find at countless other restaurants. The empanadas were another option I liked, but even those are not good enough to make me want to return. Removing one of the dishes that actually made this place different was a huge mistake, in my opinion. Now Rosa feels like just another Mexican restaurant in a city full of them.

It somehow manages to feel upscale while still being approachable and relaxed. Everything works together beautifully. The decor, the atmosphere, the energy. The design screams that it feels Bonita. I stopped by during happy hour and ordered the guacamole, the nachos, and a soft drink. Now look, I know. I KNOW! Who goes to happy hour at a brand-new restaurant and doesn't order one of the cocktails when they looked exceptionally good? Me, apparently. I'm on a fitness journey, so I stuck with a soft drink - and a ridiculous amount of chips that came with the guac and nachos. #DontJudgeMe The food was great, and the happy hour menu was definitely worth it. I walked over from a nearby hotel, but I did notice they have plenty of parking available. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent.
