I really wanted to enjoy this place more than I did, especially after hearing such glowing reviews from friends. I kicked off the evening with the Black Margarita--a berry-flavored twist on the classic--which, unfortunately, reminded me more of cough syrup than a cocktail. As usual, we started with choriqueso, though this version was overwhelmingly queso with just a small amount of chorizo. My husband ordered the Quesabirria Tacos and enjoyed them, while I opted for the beer-battered shrimp tacos--admittedly a bold choice for someone who usually avoids seafood unless I'm near the coast. I'll be sticking to that rule from now on, especially after dealing with some stomach discomfort later that night. While the restaurant clearly has a strong reputation and many enticing options, our first visit didn't quite live up to the hype. Prices leaned toward the higher end, and oddly, a server who wasn't even assigned to our table ended up being more attentive than our actual one. That said, the restaurant was busy, and both food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. The ambiance gives off a more upscale, modern Mexican vibe, but personally, I'll always prefer the flavors and value of a traditional Mexican spot over something that feels overpriced and underwhelming. read more

Los Agaves is our local Mexican go-to. Our last visit included a review of their updated/revised menu. I liked the new options- more selection, variety, and interesting menu items. It was a night for a liquid dinner.... with a few chips and choriqueso. I enjoyed the margarita sampler. I'd go back just for the sampler! Great flavors and excellent presentation. My dining partner had his regular- chorizo tacos with rice. Super flavorful and ample! Service was super friendly albeit a little bit slow to get started. Not bad but to get 5 stars, I needed my shrimp and rice to have more flavor. The shrimp was grilled nicely but had no seasoning. Garlic, adobo seasoning, sea salt, pepper something voila and done right is 5 stars. Bubbas 33 is still winning with grilled shrimp that is not on the menu. Service & decor was decent so that earns the 3 stars. I also need something more than water and tea that is not alcoholic because my dietary needs have dramatically changed. My companion had a blackberry something cocktails and it seemed very similar to those pre-made cocktails. I understand batch making drinks but it does not always work well. read more

I gotta say first off, I'm stuffed! I had a nice size piece of talpia topped with a few pieces of asparagus, which were a tad bit overdone, but I would actually like a few more pieces. I had never had a tilapia dinner at a Mexican restaurant, so this was a nice treat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The service was quick. I called ahead and it was ready when I arrived. I did not see the whole restaurant since I just ordered and picked up but it looked nice and pretty new. Lots of parking available. read more

My fiancé and I decided to stop in here to get some lunch after church and we're not disappointed! We got there right when they opened at 11 am and we're a bit thrown off because they opened late and weren't super friendly when we got sat. As we got sat we noticed how beautifully the restaurant decor was and how good the ambiance was! However, the experience quickly changed after we got our drinks and chips and salsa! The chips were nice and warm and tasted fantastic! The salsa was a bit on the sweet side for me so I asked for some of their hot sauce to put in it and it was PERFECT! Made the salsa have a great taste to it. It didn't take long for our food to come out and when it did .. it tasted fabulous. The meat in the fajitas was seasoned perfectly and you could tell it was a high quality meat! My dish was also very good. We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Only complaint is it's a bit on the pricy side for a Mexican restaurant but in my opinion ... worth it! We will be back and recommend it people to check it out! read more

The food was good but pricey. Won't make it a regular stop. Be careful when you use a credit/debit card,they will automatically charge 22% tip if you don't notice. I always tip but I don't want to be told what to tip. A bit shady in my opinion. read more

Los Agaves is the go to Mexican restaurant in Mccordsville! Their food is always spot on and so delicious. Their arroz con pollo is so good as well as their tres burritos. Not to mention their homemade salsa that they serve with chips, couldn't be better! Only downside is that the food is pretty expensive for the overall amount of food that you get. Beer prices are pretty cheap, though! This place has a more modern feel to it which makes it seem almost fancy for a Mexican restaurant. Service is usually good! My server recommended me something one time and we didn't like it. They were so accommodating and made sure that I got something that I liked! read more

Nice friendly service. There were 6 of us, but we were still seated quickly. I ordered the agave burrito, which had shrimp, chicken and beef. A lot of food. I came here to celebrate by birthday and I was treated like royalty. The whole entire staff accommodated my group of girls making sure drinks were filled, alcoholic drinks were on rotation and food came out on time. This was a good dining experience, only a few minor things mean 4 instead of 5 stars. My friends who live nearby love love love this spot so I'll definitely try it again. Tuesday night busy but not every table full. Service was very prompt and friendly. I got the mole chicken, and the proportions of the sauce to chicken/food was a little off (too much sauce imo) but it was a good flavor and once I got a tortilla made up with it plus lettuce/tomato/sour cream then it was all very good. Staff at Los Agaves Grill is wonderful! We're always greeted with smiles and kindness. The managers often come out and check on their diners as well! Chips and salsa are served to overflowing! My daughter loves to dip things, but I'd the quite ready for spice and the salsa at Los Agaves is great for her! Kids also eat free on Mondays! Great way to save some cash! And there are other specials like half off margaritas on Wednesdays. This time I ordered Los Tres Burritos which were three deep fried burritos served with rice, lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The burritos come smothered in cheese! I haven't come to Los Agaves in 2 years. The reason? I kept finding hair in my food. It was a spot my family liked to go to often. However, the last 3 times I went, I kept having to pull long, black hair out of my food (once had to pull it out of my mouth(:). So, I haven't been back since. My sister, however, just ordered takeout tonight. And you'll never guess what she had to pull out of her food! Don't come here. Los Agaves is located in a small business mall sharing parking spaces with other business. First thing which struck to me is pretty trendy and modern interior. They have plenty of seating inside but no outdoor seatings. They have full bar with nice selection of drinks. We tried spicy margaritas and Paloma which were delicious. Our server wilas curious and food came in fast after ordering. I saw lot of customers interacting with staff while coming and leaving restaurants which means they have repeated clients and good client employees relationship which is super important aspect of food business. We ordered Mac n cheese with fries and chicken tenders for kids, and lamb burrito and my wife choose a veggie bowl which turned out delicious. My only suggestion on lamb burrito is thar it was totally covered in molted cheese which made it little soggy other wise it was delicious. I recommend this place. read more

This has become one of my fav Mexican spots! I only go for lunch because it's right next to my company, but their lunch specials are spot on - a perfect amount of food for a good price! It's usually relatively busy from 12-1pm, but it's not loud and service has already been fantastic. Get the fajitas, you won't regret it! read more

Los Agaves has become one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the area! We've started frequenting here for both lunch and dinner. We always start our meal with a large order of queso and their house margaritas on the rocks. I've had different entree items here from quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, specialty plates, etc. I have never been disappointed by anything I've eaten. The service here is also amazing. Everyone is always so kind and doesn't mind when our table is taking longer than we planned or wanting an extra tequila shot. They stay open pretty late on fridays and saturdays (10:30), so it is a good spot to go to if you like to dine late. The restaurant is easy to find and the parking lot is small enough that you can find a close spot pretty easily. We've done takeout from here before as well and it was very prompt (about 20 minutes) and came out hot. Definitely recommend this spot as a go to! read more

I have passed by this restaurant fir the last year since moving to the area and today I decided to stop in for dinner. The interior is beautifully decorated, atmosphere was chill and it smelled delicious. The menu had a large variety to choose from. If you're in the mood for a drink they have a great drink menu. I ordered nachos with chicken off the appetizer menu and boy it did not disappoint. The portion was hearty, the toppings were spread out throughout the chips and the queso was creamy and delicious. They also give you chips and salsa while you wait for your food. The chips were crispy and the salsa was fresh and flavorful. Not sure if they were training new people but the waitresses were not attentive...my waitress was great she had multiple tables and seemed to be the one in demand. Just about the only thing that would make this establishment better is a view of the ocean from their outside seating. Since that's just not going to happen in indiana ....a corn field it is. They've recently (as of 8.25.22) purchased all new tables and chairs for their outside seating and it's so cozy! Our meals and service have consistently been good here. The pina colada margarita is a favorite or mine as is the traditional house margarita. Parking can be a bit a a bear due to the other businesses in the area but just drive around a tad and you'll find something! read more
