We had a 4 o'clock reservation on Saturday When we arrived,…read morewe noticed that there were available seating at the bar so we chose to sit there, it was a great choice. Our bartender Michael was fantastic. He was very personable. Made phenomenal drinks and also had incredible food recommendations. We started with the pretzel and that was to die for. We ordered the whiskey wings, which were fantastic. My husband ordered the meatball pizza and it was literally one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I got the chicken Milanese with the arugula salad it was absolutely incredible They also have happy hour till 6 PM on Saturday so that's also another bonus. We will definitely be making this place part of our weekly rotation.

The space is dark and cozy and you'll forget all about the CVS outside by the time you sit down. The menu offers a nice variety of small plates, salads, sandwiches, entrees and pizzas. There are also cocktails, wine and a small but sufficient selection of beers on tap. The prices feel a couple dollars higher than you'd want them to be ($18 for a smash burger or a 12-inch pizza) but are comparable with similar restaurants in the area. My parents and I split the Medjool dates starter, Crunchy Greens salad and a mushroom pizza and all were very good and enough for all of us to enjoy (sorry, forgot to take pics). We drove this way after cross country skiing at Punderson State Park, and I can imagine us going back after our next outing there. Do recommend if you're in the area.

We have been a Gionino's family for years and never really considered trying Uncle Spikes until my…read moreson had friends over and they requested it. I must admit, their pizza is really good! We all loved it! Big picture.. The prices are pretty reasonable and they have a great variety of options on the menu. Ordering is easy and straight forward. But, most importantly the pizza is great with a crust on the thicker side and a healthy portion of cheese (ok, it's not exactly "healthy"). If you want authentic NY style pizza try Pizza DiLauro, if you want filling, delicious Ohio pizza...try Uncle Spikes!

I purchased a $30 discount certificate for Uncle Spike's Pizzeria so I ordered a large cheese pizza…read moreand a small thin crust cheese pizza for takeout; ordering is easy and efficient. The menu is pretty straightforward, plenty of pizza options, calzones, a single salad and a couple of beverages. Uncle Spikes is half of a small building just East of the center of Aurora, the shop is takeout only, a simple counter, one cooler and the kitchen behind a wall in back. My pizzas were ready and nicely cooked; the presentation is simple the pizza boxes are just plain, no logos or writing which is fine. The pizzas are very good, the crust is excellent, the cheese near perfect, and the cooking was the way I prefer it a bit well done. The only problem I had was that there was almost no sauce on my pizzas; with a good sauce these could be some of the best pizzas in the area. I did enjoy the pizza over the next couple days, especially since I could add some toppings including chopped and sun dried tomatoes; the reheated pizza is excellent. The large pizza with the regular crust is big enough that 1/4 of the pie makes a good meal; the small thin crust is also very good since this makes for an even cheesier taste. Uncle Spike's does a really good pizza, the portion size is generous, the quality is excellent, the only issue for me was the lack of sauce, I don't know if this is their usual approach or if it was just a mistake. I do appreciate the nice and simple approach, no frills, no hype just good take out pizza.
