I contacted them for an estimate and was asked to bring our vehicle by. This happened to be a cold winter day when we arrived. I believe it was Patrick came outside to greet us. Took pictures of the damage and a picture of our VIN number. We never had to get out into the cold. He told us he would send us an estimate in a few days. True to his word we received our estimate. Hass worked with the insurance company for the individual that hit us. We scheduled a time to drop off our vehicle. A few days later when we picked up our vehicle, I have to say it looked like a brand new vehicle. The bumper looked perfect. I showed him the few small defects; he noted that the headlight placement had been damaged and that likely all repairs would be roughly $2100. I asked if they did loaner cars during the repair? They do not, but if it's the other persons insurance they should allow a rental car. I discussed the "Selected Service Shops" the insurance had suggested. He stated that those places are usually commission based and that Wayne-Val is just him, his wife & brother-in-law compared to larger shops that are 20+ associates. I feel confident in leaving my vehicle w Wayne-Val and will do another yelp/update this one once I have actually had my vehicle repaired. I appreciated that Joe quoted me a realistic 19 February as what I'd be looking at for a service date. I mostly appreciated that Joe told me some of the questions that the insurance may ask, such as: do I approve used parts? He said I don't have to say yes and he wouldn't recommend used parts and it could only save insurance a couple hundred dollars. They asked me to go to Caliber for this estimate. I will say honestly that when I took my car in, I didn't really intend to go with Caliber for the repairs. I was just checking the box for my insurance company. But I found their team to be so easy to work with and so good at customer service that I just gave them the go-ahead to do the repair. Joe was the representative I worked with, and I have nothing but positive things to say. He was very nice, and he took his time walking me through the damage to my car, what would need to be done, etc. I'm the type of customer that tends to ask a TON of questions. Joe answered every question I asked and he frequently called me in response to an emailed question to ensure I had all the information I wanted and didn't have any follow-up questions. He kept me completely updated on the status of my vehicle every step of the way. When I picked the car up, he took me on a final walk around, explained everything that was done, made sure I was happy and answered all of my final questions. I was very impressed. As for the repairs, my car looks brand new and drives perfectly. When I realized there was going to be paint work, I actually had them add on work to repair a scuff that had happened prior to the accident, which I paid for out of pocket. Their estimate on that repair was comparable and even slightly lower than the one I received from the dealership previously. You can't tell my car was even in an accident and the paint was matched exactly. Also, an honorable mention to Veronica at the front desk, who was a pleasure to work with on scheduling, paperwork, payment, etc. She was awesome enough to call me back when they had a cancellation and moved my repair up by like a week, which was a super pleasant surprise. And, when I picked my car up, she was very diligent to make sure the paperwork was correct, and she triple checked that I was charged the right amount (which was tricky because it was my deductible, the repair the insurance paid for and the repair that I paid out of pocket). But it gets better for all vehicle owners! From the front desk to the shop, they treat you and your vehicle like family. My SUV had "minor" damage from a repair shop standpoint but they didn't downplay how I felt about the condition of my SUV at all. I scheduled my estimate appointment and they didn't waste any time inspecting my vehicle, notating the damage, and giving me their initial eyeball estimate ($4,500 range). They went from "this is what I see right now but we might find more when we break her down" to "let's see how soon we can get you in." There is the first 5 stars. Customer service, friendly, fast, efficient, no side talk or questionable practice hints. The date was set, July 19th, 2024, I was scheduled to drop my baby off for a TBD amount of time and the "hospital". I got a call a week or so later at the one moment I didn't have my phone stuck to my hand willing their call to fruition. My heart sinking as I listened to their voicemail and being told they found more "minor" damage and the estimated time to fix would be 2 weeks. My sinking heart was ONLY because I would be without my purring 3.6L V6 longer than I had wanted to be. And then I got "lucky". I got the call that my truck was ready for pickup. I arrived, walked in and was immediately greeted. All the giddiness in my voice I told the gentleman that I was here for the 2018 Silver Ford Explorer... he was already walking to get my keys which I made note of since we had only seen each other once! He summarizes the work that was done (replace, fix etc.) and remembered that I had hoped my hood was damaged enough to replace because of the bare spots on the hood rim that had bubbled and chipped off over time. As he walked me out to my truck he said that the paint shop "touched up" the hood since he remembered that I had talked about it. When I laid eyes on my baby my jaw literally fell open and tears started to form in my eyes. They didn't "touch up" the paint on my hood. They completely restored it, no charge. Adding to it, my truck was detailed inside and out. All I can say to that is... I have a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. This is where they earned 10 stars. All I could do was ask who did it because I wanted to express my gratitude and show my thanks for the man who spent his own time to do this amazing act of kindness for me and my SUV. The gentleman told me the paint shop guys name was Greg. Eventually I asked for Greg's last name to make sure I personalized the gift I would ultimately be bringing back to him. "Harwood" is what I was told. Crap, one of the owner's sons... what can I get a VIP for treating me like a VIP? And today, as I write my review of Harwood's Body Shop I found out that Greg Harwood, the guy who decided to restore the hood of my baby to better than new is the OWNER??? I hope I never get into an accident again, but if I do, Harwood's is the only place I will trust to bring my baby back.
