Fried turkey we couldn't eat .
mitzi W.

My husband ordered a fried turkeys from here & it has no seasoning & tasteless. I followed the instructions & but it didn't help, it is so light skin it ain't funny. This place probably forgot to season it smh. Never again wAste of almost $100 we didn't eat it, we can't even give it away. So I'm gonna try to doctor it, slice it & put it in the air fryer.

Cornbread (inc w/ turkey soul dinner) outstanding

Its Five Star Fri again!!! I finally returned to Loreto's after trying to hit this place around the holidays. During the holidays they only do catering orders. Loreto's specializes in fried turkey and is on Redondo Beach Blvd and Dwight, 4 mi east of the 110 in CPT. In addition to turkey, they also offer Southern faves like sweet potato pie, banana pudding and peach cobbler. BTW, cash only. I ordered the turkey soul dinner that comes w/ mac & cheese, greens, cornbread and gravy ($12). It was my first time having fried turkey, and it was amaaazing! First of all, the leg was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In addition, the white meat was moist and flavorful. Secondarily, the mac & cheese was nice and rich. It was comparable to a high end steakhouse's version. Third of all, the greens had a bit of smoked turkey to balance the flavor of the other items. And last but not least, the cornbread was moist and the portion was large. No butter was required: All 5 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, its a total hole in the wall. However, you can savor the fried turkeys in the display case while you wait. There are a few tables outside, but if you don't like the area get take out. Service is leisurely to say the very least. Nonetheless, the owner and his son are very nice. Additionally, so are the clientele: Both 5 Stars. Idk what took me so long to try fried turkey, but it won't be long before I'll be back. The food and service are outstanding here!!!

15lb fried turkey

*** Hmm, fried turkey for Thanksgiving! *** Of course I waited until the last minute to get turkey for Thanksgiving, right? (0_o) I called Loreto's on Tues and TG is today. They told me "all orders booked thru Sat" but they added me on to their waiting list. Luckily there was a last min cancellation. (whew) This 15lb turkey was succulent and tasty. I just refrigerated it overnight then placed it in the oven (350 deg) for an hour on TG Day. My first fried turkey experience was pleasing. *** I wish this Mom & Pop shop success! ***

A chicken cackles, a duck quacks but you will be the one gobbling up food if you eat here! This is a very small business run by pops, son and daughter. They only do one thing here and that is turkey..deep fried turkey. They have instructions for reheating if you decide to purchase a whole bird and you must order in advance if you are purchasing for the holidays! ~Turkey Tacos-5 Stars These small tacos will cost you a buck each. I ordered mine with avocado and tomato and they were delicious. The turkey juices are really sealed inside the meat. This was all I tried and was very happy with my food. In fact, I placed an order for my 15lb turkey for Thanksgiving. ~Holiday Orders A fifteen pound turkey will run you $70. They also have plenty of sides you can order also. I will update my review after I actually eat this. I have very high hopes for the food at my holiday dinner this year and it is my turn to cook! Very small restaurant with minimal parking but worth the food. Make sure you bring cash. I am a fan and am anxious to update this review after Thanksgiving!

Turkey burrito with rice and beans. Needs some sauce.

I went in for lunch and the guy working was extremely friendly. I told him I only had 10 minutes and he made sure my food was ready in a timely fashion. I ordered the turkey burrito. It wasn't bad or great. It lacked pizzaz. Maybe if he had some type of tasty sauce it would have been better. The burrito was 3 stars the service was 5 stars. So overall a 4 star grade.

Sides: Mac n Cheese & Rice & Gravy ..

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! Customer service is superb!! Joe (chef/owner) is very warm and welcoming!! Kinda makes you feel like family!! The Location: Must admit, at first I wasn't sure what to expect as the place is older looking and next to a busy corner liquor store with ppl occasionally hanging outside .. Its tucked into a itty bitty corner without much space and isn't fancy. But otherwise, to my surprise the inside was pretty clean !! If you're not from around these parts I can see it being a tat intimidating but don't be scared away it isn't that bad.. The Turkey "soul" sandwich was pretty good and a nice portion.. Joe even bakes his on bread right there in the shop.. This bread was soft, fresh and just fits the turkey sandwich perfectly!! The mac n cheese was also great ! You can taste it's homemade-ness (sorry I know that isn't a word but get my point rt? Lol) Everything shows that he loves what he does!! I have forsure become a regular!! Can't wait to try the whole menu! Prices are very reasonable! This place is a must try!! Tip: bring cash they don't accept credit or debit..

Ask the Community - Loreto's Fried Turkey

Has anyone had any actual luck getting through on the phone?

they are closed from November until the second week of February. they always answer if the cafe is open. this restaurant is seasonal.

Does anyone know if they do whole turkeys for Christmas? I've been trying to call and the phone just rings and rings.

How far in advance should I order a turkey for Thanksgiving?

As Notorious stated, He has already started taking orders. I placed my order the first week of October. If you don't order soon you may not be able to get through because the phone will be constantly busy. I waited to late last year and missed… Read more

It was rich, flavorful, and actually tasted homemade. The BBQ was impressive, smoky, tender, and seasoned just right. I really enjoyed it. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. They were out of Mac and cheese so I thought I would get Mac and cheese from Johnson's on my way home. I called them to ask if they took online orders and explained to the guy who answered that I had an electronic debit card as to explain why I asked . He said yes I could order online or over the phone . In the interim he gave the phone to some woman who kept me on hold so long that by the time she got back on the phone I had already ordered online. She confirmed my order but after hanging up I noticed the online app they use predicted a ridiculous amount of time to prepare the order (45 minutes). I was only 5 minutes away but stationary. So I called back and asked the lady how long it would take she said 15 minutes, I gave them 20 . When I got there and explained that I ordered online. Not only did I learn that the order wasn't ready but the guy at the window had the audacity to say if I had placed a phone order it would have been 15 minutes but otherwise they go by the app's time. And what his staff person told me when I called "was In error". How stupid is that? The whole premise of fast food is that it's fast. Secondly, you are willing to put online customers on the back burner based on an apps time and not real time? I looked at this man as if to say'Is that your final answer?" I don't see a line out here? Bruh it's your business, stand on it, I'm going to be about mine's. I had ordered extra food to support Black business, because remember I already had a plate in the car from Robert Earls. I pulled off and left without the food and didn't look back. Its bought sense for me. Buyer BEWARE.

We ordered the spicy Korean wings, and thankfully they were not overly spicy, making them easy to enjoy. The real standout, though, was the Blvd burger. It was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their burgers. Overall, the prices were better than most places, especially considering the quality. Definitely worth a visit.

One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff

It did look quite busy on the patio when we checked in with the hostess. We were informed that it would prob be about 20 minutes or so for a table and if we wanted to wait at the bar. Exactly what we did. Bar area had maybe 5/6 hi top chairs that look onto the bar. Gabriel and Francisco who were working was knocking the drinks out one by one. Sitting there and just watching them create magic for everyone, it was quite amusing. Seeing how it's made and presented with precise detail, it was an art. While waiting for the table we started off with the raspberry lychee martini and the spicy margaritas. Both were great. The right amount of kick with each sip. Gabriel was knocking them out one by one and man was he busy. Fransisco took are of us while we were eating which we ended up just having our dinner at the bar instead. The last time I remembered the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. So we started off with the grilled prawns as a starters. Five prawns in a skewers and grilled with a delicious sauce accompanied. It was tasty and quite delicious. Decent size and meaty for each bite. Entrees was a little mishap as our meal was mistakenly given to the party next to us which they enjoyed. Honesty mistake but we laughed it off. Kitchen was informed and a rushed was put on our order. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. They apologized and graciously offered us a dessert after dinner. Something simple but very graceful for the honest mistake. Entrees, the wild mushrooms pasta which was quite tasty and pretty decent in size. The cream sauce which wasn't too over powering the meal was great. Each bite was very tasty. Then there was the chicken Parmesan which why we were here and expecting. The last visit it was excellent with grilled broccolini, slices of tomatoes on top and mozzarella cheese and onto spaghetti pasta. It was great. Thinking it would be the same this time which it wasn't. This visit, it was just served with squash pasta and buffalo mozzarella on top. Honestly it wasn't what I expected, somewhat of a little disappointed. Chicken was good don't get me wrong. But the hot meat with sauce and then you have literally COLD squash pasta paired with it. It was a little underwhelming. Overall, we still had a nice experience. The place was pretty full and of course the lakers were on so it was fun seeing everyone cheering them on. Bar seating for a meal was great as we had fun conversations with both Gabriel and Francisco. Plus they were cranking them drinks out one by one. Excellent in what they do. The drinks were great, grilled prawns and wild mushrooms pastas were excellent. Chicken parm, this time was a miss. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Also the dessert, highly recommend the Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream. Wow, it went down very well. Hoping next time will outdo this.
