I first ordered Lorenzo's Pizza around 2010 and thought it was delicious. The food has gotten progressively worse over the last 12 years. We ordered a small pizza, 20 hot wings and a salad the other night which came to $63. The salad was different but not bad but the wings were burnt and the pizza wasn't good. Idk why they decided to put the hot wings in the styrofoam container and then wrap them in Saran Wrap. They should know by now that makes a soggy mess. We have had difficulty with Lorenzo's the last couple times we ordered. This past time we ordered a stromboli and wings. Guy on the phone said it would be 25-30 minutes and asked if that was okay which is the usual time anyway? So sure. We arrived to pick it up 30 minutes....and we were told they could not make the stromboli...? So wasted our time when we both have places to be tonight...Not sure why they wouldn't call back or just say originally on the phone they could not make it. Instead of making us wait 30 minutes for nothing, and than try and make us wait another 30 minutes for something else. Won't be going there again. Lorenzo's is one of those places that is hard to describe, because they are both amazing and awful at the same time. I know, sounds insane, but how else can I describe both how good they are and what they really need to work on to improve. I've had it once or twice, and this is what I got out of it Let's start with the bad, and why I can't give the place the score it deserves if it fixes these problems. The place is horrendously filthy both outside and inside. At times I wondered if what I saw was mold or maybe charcoal smudges, because it honestly looked like mold was there, though it didn't smell. Their menu is stupidly huge, and I cannot suggest too many of the items, because they vary too much in quality. For example, I would never suggest getting the cheese steaks; they aren't too good and their roll isn't very good for it. But let's get into the good. Their pizza is among the best in the area, matching or beating most of them. They have a proper crust, a good understanding of cheese-sauce mix, and one of the better sauces out there, though it tends to be acidic. They also have pretty good wings too, given that the ones I had were above average and I mostly got them because my buddies like them. They said they were pretty darn good. In short; I heartily recommend their pizzas; but I want them to clean up their house/store a bit. I'd also suggest cutting down the menu size, since I bet half of the complaints about food quality have to do with that nightmare of a list. read more

opened my chicken fingers & they were all soaked from the new containers they've been using. instead of the styrofoam ones they've used in the past, they switched to the clear plastic ones & my hot food must've made the container sweat & wet my food. never again... my order was over $50 for 2 chicken finger platters, a med pizza & side of mozz sticks. We ordered @ least once every two weeks we even became friendly with the delivery drivers. One of the better pizza shops in Middletown. Just a hole in the wall, but makes a great pie. Only problem is consistency. The people who work there all seem to be in their early to mid-teens and they are always joking around and having fun. Nothing wrong with that! ...But I think that sometimes it may affect their product. They have a small deck where you can sit down with food and chill. They also deliver. What on earth happened?!? I know the owner passed away, and the family has my sincere condolences. But the new ownership/management has lost their minds! I have ordered food from Lorenzo's frequently over the last eleven years. The cheesesteaks, wings, and chicken finger platers have consistently been very good. The fries have varied over the years from crispy and tasty to soggy. When they prepare the fries well, they are excellent. After eleven years, my husband and I had our first cheesesteaks since the management change. They were absolutely disgusting! I don't know how to describe it. The best way I can put it is the meat (if it was actually meat) was a finely ground mush with a very strange texture and not much taste. I took one bite and found myself staring at it. My husband asked me what was wrong, but I wanted him to try his without hearing my opinion. He did and made the face you make when you take a shrimp from a platter at a party and find out that it is mushy after it's in your mouth. We both forced ourselves to try a second bite just to be sure. Our only excuse for doing so is that we were in disbelief regarding how bad it was. At least it was a decent night for french fries, because that was our dinner. I just don't have the proper adjective to describe how bad the cheesesteaks were. They are now outside for the skunks and foxes. I wonder if they will actually eat this slop. I seriously question if they were actually made with meat from a real cow. Worst customer service, I have ever experienced in my life. Ate at Lorenzo's for 20+ years and our experience there is over. Little things would add up and so enough is enough. For instance employees not wearing mask when handling food, would pay for extra items/ condiments and they would be missing in the bag. The list could honestly go on and on. Wish I could give this place less than one star. I ordered delivery and it took 2 hrs to get it. I understand it could have been really busy. The real problem was when we got our food it wasn't hot and it just cooked terribly. We were so hungry by the time it arrived, there was 5 of us and we all had a portion and could barely stomach it and stopped eating. I'm not really one to call and complain but the fact that all 5 of us that aren't super picky and were extremely hungry all stopped eating after a few bites. I called them and wasn't rude, I just explained that it took so long and the food was cold ( 2 large Stromboli's) and they were burnt around the outside and the were raw and doughy in the middle. They said they would replace them but couldn't deliver, so they wanted us to bring the old food back. When we got there the owners took our food and threw it away and immediately started insulting us. They never made new food for us, they just wanted to insult us because we didn't like their food. The woman owner said to my wife " it must not have been that bad if you ate half the Stromboli you fat bitch". At that point there was no more reasoning the husband started yelling insults and picked up the phone and said he was calling the police. We never got our money back, we were still hungry, we had to drive to the place that defeated the purpose of delivery, and treated very rudely. Never have we ever been there again. read more

As a born and raise brooklynite, im very leary about eating pizza outside of the five boroughs but i must admit this place was the best I've tasted in a very long time..nice thin crust and adequate sauce/cheese ratio... very similar to what you would expect at a local pizza shop in New York. If i ever return to Delaware, this will definitely be my go to eating spot. read more

NEVER EVER order from this "business" (I use that term loosely because this is far from it). To say that the management is obnoxious is an understatement. My boyfriend and I ordered two pizzas and they both arrived with an odd smell like cat urine. We immediately called back and the woman on the phone offered to give us a refund.A week later the money was still not in our account so we called back and the woman (who claimed to be a manager) insisted that they don't give refunds and if we don't like their pizza we just should not order from there. I have worked in a retail pharmacy for 10 yrs and I have never had anyone say all of the ridiculous things that this "manager" told me: - "how am I supposed to pay my employees?" - "do you want me to give you a business 101 class?" - " I have been to many restaurants and if I dont like something I just dont go there anymore" - "we are friends with the police down the street, I will charge you with harrassment" It was all so bad that I was sure it had to be a joke. Extremely DISAPPOINTED! First impressions are important in a business and my first impression stank! If I thought for a minute the management would care I would be calling them instead of online rating their business. I called in an order for pizza and wings for pickup, I was told that it would be ready for pickup in 15 to 20 minutes. We arrived exactly at the 20 minute mark and our pizza wasn't ready, there was approximately 5 pizza boxes on top the oven. We sat there for 20 minutes more watching people come and go and the pizza box stack go down to one. After we had been waiting 15 minutes we were told that we were waiting on wings and our order would be ready soon. When we finally received our order (40 minutes instead of the 15 to 20 we were originally told) I saw the last pizza box come down off the oven. When I questioned how long the pizza had been setting there (I knew it was at least 20 minutes) and if it was even still warm I was told rudely the oven was 700 degrees and assured it would be warm...THEY LIED!!! If I had not paid as soon as I walked in (a sign that they expect people to walk out) I would have walked out without a lousy cold pizza. But hey, the wings were warm! read more

I had the worst experience last night with Lorenzo's Pizza. We've been ordering pizza for the last few months and thought the pizza was pretty good. Last night we ordered a pizza. When I opened the box, a small black bug started to crawl out under the pizza. My husband and I wasn't sure what kind of bug it was. I called Lorenzo's backed immediately and spoke with the manager. When I explained what happened and I incorrectly called the bug a nat, she laughed at me and said so what. It must have flew in when the driver got out of the car. I tried to explain that the bug was in the box. She did not offer to compensate for the matter. I told her either send me another pizza or reimburse for the pizza if not, that was the last time I would buy another pizza from Lorenzo's. She continued to laugh at me. She was extremely rude and took light of the situation. A bug is a bug! I told her. No compensation was offered. I'll never order another pizza again from Lorenzo. They need to better understand the true meaning of customer service. read more
