After 3-months from inheriting/rescuing my dog Roxy, I was either going to find her a new home or get dog training because of her disobedience and some bad habits. Roxy is my first dog and I was unfamiliar how to self train or how formal training worked. After the Free consultation/evaluation by René Stephan, I made the plunge. To my surprise, Lorenzo's Dog Training involves the Owner (me) just as much as the dog, if not more. With the help from René and following the process/training outside of our sessions, Roxy's behavior changed almost overnight. The training takes practice on your own time and the real challenge is when your full training course is over. In the end, I fell in love with Roxy and was so confident in my abilities with her that I felt i could help friend's and family's with their dog challenges. Although training was over, Lorenzo's is still available for you whether by phone/text or Free Monthly Group Sessions to help tune/polish everything we learned. René also has the best performing and quality equipment for you or at least has recommendations of where to get. Most equipment in pet stores is cheaply made and underperform. Thanks again for everything René, I will be back at the group sessions as soon as I can and am looking forward to the next levels of training!

Back to being happy and coexisting.

I can't recommend Rene at Lorenzo's Dog Training enough! Rene came to our home for personalized training sessions with our 2 Frenchies. We were having behavioral issues where both dogs had very little impulse control and also were becoming aggressive towards other dogs, even starting to fight each other. We had had tried other dog trainers prior and had been going to group classes and 1-1 trainings for months since the onset of problems began about a 6 months ago. Where other trainers failed, Rene was able to succeed. Rene taught us how to build influence with our pups, helping us set the tone that we're in charge and their aggressive behavior was not acceptable or needed. His reinforcement techniques were effective, and he really focused on strengthening our relationship with our pups. After just a few weeks, both dogs are much more well-behaved. We can now walk down a sidewalk without either dog pulling or barking at other dogs. Never thought this was possible. Rene was consistently available for questions and very professional through the whole process. If you're looking for an effective dog training, I highly recommend contacting Rene at Lorenzo's Dog Training Team.

    Reggie's graduation!
    Erin T.

We just finished our final training session with Rene and Emily, and we can't thank them enough! Reggie was a shy, fearful, under-socialized dog when we first adopted him, and we knew we wanted to get him started on training once he adjusted to our home. Over the span of a month of training, Reggie is a completely different dog thanks to Rene and Emily's guidance. I could have never imagined that his obedience and leash walking would be this up to par. For our final session, we were able to walk Reggie through Valley Fair mall on a busy Saturday afternoon and practiced his obedience and off-leash walking! We've learned so much from Rene and Emily, and we can't recommend them enough for anyone looking for a trainer.

Tiger's graduation at Santana Row with mom, Rene, and a furry friend!
    Diana L.

If we had to do it all over again, we'd do it without hesitation! A little background -- we adopted Tiger back in 2021 and our 3-year-old boy is a 100 lbs GSD/pitbull mix who dealt with aggression out of fear and anxiety. He was the easiest puppy, but once he got to the age of two he started pulling in every which way direction during our walks, barked like crazy whenever the doorbell rang or someone knocked, and would lunge and bark at any dog (whether small or large) on walks and car rides. This was unfortunate because Tiger loved going out with us yet his reactivity made every outing stressful since we always had to check our surroundings for other dogs. Both my bf and I have fallen due to Tiger's pulling and we've also had to break up fights between Tiger and other dogs. We watched SO many YouTube videos on "how to condition your dog out of reactivity", but implementation is definitely easier said than done when it comes to DIY dog training. We love Tiger like crazy and wanted his life to be as fulfilling as possible, but felt discouraged as we couldn't have him be a liability and a danger to other dogs. So, fast forward to January 2024, I was venting to a friend about our dilemma with Tiger and she shared how her 7-year-old pup dealt with similar behavioral issues until they went through training with Lorenzo's Dog Team. She showed me pictures and videos of her dogs post training and I was obsessed -- they were happy and so well-behaved on and off leash and knowing that one of her older pups benefited so greatly from the training, I knew I had to give it a try for Tiger. I made the call on January 19 and was able to schedule an evaluation with René literally the next day. The entire process was smooth and effortless and not only that, but René called me personally to introduce himself and gave a quick run down of what to expect with the evaluation. René came over the next day, we had the evaluation, we signed Tiger up, and the rest was history. Less than two months later, Tiger has done a complete 180. Since his training with René, Tiger no longer lunges and barks at other dogs, he has way more confidence, no more pulling on the leash, strangers compliment him, and overall it's a joy to bring him out with us. Even our friends and family comment on how much Tiger has improved and how amazing he is now! Every day my bf and I talk about how far Tiger has come and how thankful we are for René. Not only has Tiger shown a huge improvement, but both my bf and I have learned a great deal from this experience. René taught us how to properly handle Tiger and all the dos and don'ts of managing his behavior and up keeping with his training on our end. Now we can confidently bring our boy to parks for drills and practice off leash handling, something we only dreamed of doing before. We cannot thank René and the Lorenzo's Dog Training Team enough! :) If you're considering putting any of your fur babies through training with Lorenzo's Team, DO IT!!

Bubba happy to ride in back of car, relaxed and calm (NOT how he was when I got him when I had to fight to keep him from the front)

In August 2023 (7 months ago), I adopted Bubba, a 3.5 year old 85 pound HUGE rottweiler-shepherd mix who had been in four homes before mine (not his fault). While he had been through training through the rescue organization I got him from, he was a lot to deal with. I immediately began searching for trainers. Lorenzo's was recommended by my vet, so I called, made an appointment, and Rene came to my house. When Rene arrived, Bubba lunged, barked, growled, and was generally uncontrollable. Rene asked that I show him what Bubba's training was, so I showed him how Bubba sort of heeled, sort of sat, sort of went "down," and sort of came. Bubba was quite resistant. Then Rene took Bubba, and within 10 minutes, I was already watching a different dog. Quite clearly Rene was there to train me, not Bubba. Over the course of the next month, Bubba was transformed through my education from crazy dog to a well-mannered, excellent companion. I now take Bubba everywhere with me - restaurants, Home Depot, the bank, the drug store, to get my hair done (yep, they allow him because he is so good), the pet store (of course - his very favorite destination) - I even took him to get a healthy IV drip (who knew they'd allow dogs!) and he just laid at my feet and smiled at everyone who came in. Bubba has stayed at hotels and vacation rentals with me. When he is in the car, he knows he must be lying calmly in the back seat and stay "down" until the door is opened, his leash in my hand, and his release command given ("Bubba out") after which he is to immediately sit. No crazy blasting about the back seat while the car is moving or potentially jumping into traffic when the door opens. I take Bubba hiking a lot and he is off leash wherever permitted. His recall is instant. When he is at a distance, I can tell him "down" and he will go down wherever he is no matter how far away. Same with "sit." If I recall him to my heel, he looks like a military dog as he rushes over to my side. I am constantly complimented - and I mean ALL-the-time - on how well trained my dog is. When Bubba and I go for walks around my neighborhood, we are unfortunately subjected to poorly trained dogs who lunge, bark, growl, and generally pull at the end of their leashes aggressively trying to get to Bubba. I ask Bubba to heel, and he ignores all the poorly behaved dogs. I don't. I hate it and it takes away my peace. I hate it when we go to restaurants and dogs are barking or jumping about - all of this makes people dislike dogs in public places for good reason. Training your dog has two purposes. First, it gives you the companion you envisioned. A joy to have in the house, a well-mannered addition. Second, it is your responsibility as a dog owner to present the public with a well-behaved player in the scene. It is unfair to take your dog out in public only to bring it and everyone around it (you included) stress. Rene is no-nonsense and will get the job done. He will give you the tools to have the companion you have always wanted, on and off leash. The dog you see in movies and commercials (or those cute YouTube videos). It's not a distant wish, it is well within your grasp. Do yourself and your neighbors and fellow citizens a favor - hire Rene and invest in the long and happy future with your furry family member!

    Graduation of Dumpling and Pumpkin!
    Jamie T.

I sought Lorenzo's dog training program after seeing and hearing about the amazing progress my friend's dogs had - especially one who was reactive and stubborn. I adopted a stray pitty pup named Pumpkin about a year ago who was a little under a year old and ended up in a few altercations with my other pitty girl, Dumpling. I exerted everything that I knew about training and was desperate for help. I called and scheduled an evaluation with René who provided really great observations about the dogs which I didn't notice/think of before. The program was hard work- but what in life isn't hard work to benefit best from it? We went through the training program where René showed us how to build trust and respect with our dogs. Within a few sessions, we saw SO much progress with the two of them! Pumpkin was very fearfully anxious, and we saw her calm down so much with training. Dumpling was very stubborn and hard headed- I stopped taking her on walks because of how stressful it was (from pulling, being reactive to other dogs). After the program, I can walk Dumpling confidently, trusting in the training and the bond we've built. Pumpkin was anxious and would react when she saw other dogs, but now we can walk her off leash and feel confident she will be by our side the whole time! Thank you René for being so patient, supportive and helpful in teaching us as owners how to be better trainers/owners to our babies. I can't stop raving about Lorenzo's dog training program to everyone I meet! 100/10 would recommend to any owners seeking training for their fur babies!

Our last day of training and Lincoln is a completely different doggo!
    Kat C.

Finding a dog trainer is not easy, especially being somewhat new to the area. My husband and I completed a basic training for our poodle/chihuahua/dachshund rescue mix Lincoln a year prior but it was treat-based and difficult to maintain if we didn't have treats with us at all times. That's where Jollene came in to help. We started our basic obedience training with an at-home evaluation where both Jollene and Emmanuel assessed how Lincoln interacted with us. They also demonstrated some techniques, which quickly changed his behavior. We knew he needed more discipline and wasn't respecting us to listen to commands so this was a good evaluation to help us understand a different training technique; one that was just what we needed. After completing his training, he's a completely different dog. He now stays by our side until released and thinks twice before he does something (e.g. lunging at strangers, running towards small children, charging and barking aggressively at other dogs, nipping at peoples heels--these are just some of the bad behaviors we couldn't correct before!). Jollene was incredibly patient with us and Lincoln throughout the training, tailoring the sessions to focus on his specific challenges. A lot of the training was for us to learn how to properly and consistently communicate with our pup. We can see now that he truly respects and trusts us enough to listen to our commands and, most importantly, trust people! He used to be so overprotective of us and dominant around strangers, and he's gotten a lot better about not barking or snarling at someone he doesn't know because we're reassuring him that it's okay. Incredible transformation that we couldn't have achieved if it wasn't for Jollene. This was the right style of training for our Lincoln and at a competitive price (I also did a lot of price comparison and this was a good fit for us). We can't thank and recommend Jollene enough!

    Graduation day!

We signed up our dog, Dwayne for the 10 session behavioral package with Jollene. By session 9, Dwayne was completely off leash and understood the commands and corrections we worked on communicating with him on leash for the first 8 sessions! It was also super convenient to be able to train your dog during shelter-in-place and have someone come and meet you where you want. Jollene is an amazing and patient teacher. This program is worth your time and money if you want a mutually satisfying relationship with your dog for the years to come. It is definitely going to take work and time from the owners but Dwayne's recall and obedience is like night and day from when we first started. Thank you Jollene!!!!!

My husband and I have been working with Rene, Nai, and Janice from Lorenzo's over the past 2+ years. We have two large dogs, one older Pitbull and one newer Dogo Argentino. When we introduced a new puppy (Dogo) into the family, our Pittie was extremely jealous. Both dogs were convinced (and trying) to be alpha of the house. It was quite stressful, and time-consuming, to manage. Thankfully, with a referral from our vet, we discovered Lorenzo's. The training and support we received from Rene and the team was life-changing. Rene, Nai, and Janice have been able to address each dog's individual challenges and behavioral needs. The training reinforced that we (the humans!) are the alphas, and our relationship with our wonderful dogs has never been better. Our dogs are now exceptionally well-behaved. We can take them anywhere (even off-leash!). They stay by our side in heel, listen to our commands, respect us and each other, and do all of this with a happy grin and wagging tail. Our bond with our pups is stronger than ever. Investing in training was hands-down the best decision we have ever made. Due to the success, our Dogo has continued with retrieval and protection training. He has turned into quite the champion dog. We receive compliments everywhere we go and can not express enough how grateful we are to Lorenzo's. If we ever get a new dog in the future, there is no question that we will immediately invest in dog training (and only through Lorenzo's!). If you are looking to strengthen your bond with your fur babies, DO IT! The transformation is remarkable. Thank you, Rene, Janice and Nai for your excellent training, care, and support.

    Graduation of Oreo
    Cheryl H.

Totally recommending Lorenzo's dog training!! Thanks to René for his hard work, Oreo has completed his upgrade from a dominant little badass to a very well-behaved boy in less than 2 months. Now we can walk him off leash without worrying him to be at flight risk. We totally love this transformation, and highly recommending Lorenzo's to those who struggles with cute but naughty puppies.

We are super happy and satisfied with the investment we made into this training! We signed up for the 12 week training program with Jollene and Emmanuel for our American pit bull terrier, Luna, and it worked wonders. Luna is our rescue and has separation anxiety and started showing leash reactivity to other dogs and adult strangers about 6 months after we adopted her. I tried a few other trainers and classes with no real improvement before finding Lorenzo's. Jollene and Emmanuel were prompt and professional at the initial evaluation and explained their training methods thoroughly, answering all of our questions. They were responsive in communications and flexible with our schedule, which I appreciated! At first we were a little doubtful that Luna was showing improvement, and really didn't know if she would ever not be reactive, but slowly and surely throughout the training program, we started to see her respond to commands and heel nicely. We were also trained on how to be consistent with commands, corrections when needed, and positive reinforcement as well as the importance of working with her every day. Even when we/Luna had setbacks, Jollene and Emmanuel were always responsive to our concerns and reassuring about the process and the need to see the training through to the end. By our last session, Luna was heeling perfectly on walks, ignoring other dogs (even those yapping at her!), walking calmly by people, and now looks to us to know how to act. Jollene and Emmanuel worked as a team in training us and Luna, and we're so grateful to them and happy that we can help Luna live her best life alongside us. I'm no longer fearful when I see dogs walking towards us, knowing that we are equipped with the tools to manage her and that she knows we're the leaders. Also, it was great to see how Jollene was so sweet to Luna and I could tell really liked her which made the entire experience more comfortable and positive for Luna and for us. I'm looking forward to the group classes and continuing Luna's (and our) education!

    Brooks' graduation!

We just finished our training package with René and are so happy with how far our 6-month old pup Brooks has come! I had tried tried my best to train him on my own but he was still very reactive on walks and it was getting progressively worse which is why we called LDTT. I would recommend René and LDTT to anyone struggling with a reactive dog or any other behaviors you don't want! Brooks has made so much progress with his reactivity, he is well-behaved in the house and I don't have to worry about him chewing or getting into anything. We will continue training Brooks with what René has taught us and are excited to see him grow!

    Graduation day!

Having searched for a dog trainer for a few weeks, I was so happy I found Lorenzo's Dog Training, and René Stephan, our specific trainer. René was professional, patient and taught us not only how to train our puppy Sophie correctly, but also useful techniques we can use as we continue to work with her for the rest of her life. Invaluable training!! René's passion for dogs and dog training was evident at the first meeting, and Sophie loved working with him. Thank you to Lorenzo's and especially René, for teaching both Sophie and us, such useful training. If your looking for the best trainers, call Lorenzo's Dog Training Team!

With her age, we knew training would not be a perfect fix and we just wanted to get to a manageable spot. We found Turning Point Dog Training through a Google search and reached out. Within a day or two (I think it was same day), we got a response from Andrea, one of their dog trainers. Andrea was very accommodating with scheduling as my partner and I both work full time. When we first met with her - we immediately felt comfortable. One thing that I noticed and really appreciated right off is that we were not rushed through an appointment. Andrea took her time with us and we even ended up staying over time. She easily could have said "oh times up" or "I have another appointment". But this showed me that they would take time with our dog. We ended up selecting a 3 week board and train as that is what we felt fit out life best at the moment. Again - we went in with expectations that Maisy may never be perfect, but we wanted manageable. We met up with Andrea for her midway session and then again for a public outing at 3pm in a local park (I never thought I would take Maisy to a busy park with lots of dogs at 3pm), and we were absolutely blown away. It was a night and day difference! Maisy was walking near dogs and not having a full freak out and was able to remain calm. We did have to correct some minor behaviors - but she's still learning and so are we! Those behaviors we corrected though were nothing like anything she did in the past that felt unmanageable. We get Maisy back today from our 3 week board and train and we can't wait to see how it goes integrating what she has learned and what we have learned into our everyday life. I will post another review after a couple of weeks and/or months for an update. But so far, we have had such a great and meaningful experience! Other things we enjoyed: They send daily photo updates so you are never left without seeing your pup! They also have around the clock care and have eyes on your dog almost all the time if not all the time. Maisy was in such good hands.

I may be biased, but I absolutely adore TPDT. Anthony, Andrea, Paige and Jess are top tier trainers…read more- they all take a patient approach, explain things in great detail, and truly care about the relationship between you and your dog. I have personally used the boarding for my whole crew over a holiday, and daycare numerous times and my dogs love it. I cannot recommend TPDT enough. If you are in Cleveland (or even remotely in the area) they are the best when it comes to training, pack walks, daycare, and boarding.
