I must say, this place is AMAZING, and I say that without even using their services. After having such a horrible experience leaving my dog with A1 Bed and Biscuit in Chardon, I began interviewing other Dog kennels. When I had contacted BOW WOW asking for prices, I mistakenly understood the service of the $25 daycare meaning overnight! I discovered it was actually $42-ish for overnight ($37 if you buy a 10 day package). It was simply over our budget as we were looking for a place to care for Winston for over 2 weeks. So, going on a misunderstanding, we scheduled for a 3 hour "interview" with Bow Wow. This is how they see if your dog is compatible with their other day stayers. It makes sense really. So it was totally free and they asked that Winston remain for 3 hours. When I came back to pick him up, they had given me a tour and handed me a folder with Winston's picture on it. LOL. This place is amazingly controlled and they literally put in controls that prevent mishandling of certain diets. This is very important, especially after what Winton went through. I am giving this place a 4/5 star because if we every would need to utilize their services, I can not imagine this place going below a 4/5 star. It simply is in a caliber of kennels all to itself. This is the best Doggie Day Camp ever. From my very first phone call, the staff was friendly and professional. They obviously knew what they were doing with Dogs and their behavior. They explained all aspects of Day Camp and made sure our questions were answered. As other dogs checked in, you could tell that staff recognized and loved them. We opted in for the Ball Pit experience on a recent visit and it was a big win! Would highly recommend to others! read more

They denied hitting him, even though I just saw it on the video, and said they only sprayed him with water. She slapped him twice then walked over grabbed the water and sprayed him. I told that exactly to the woman at the front desk when I saw it and she calmly said they spray down when there is a mess. Then when I asked her to go back and ask the woman she said that there was no hitting but she did spray him because he was being annoying to another dog. She hit him twice, that I saw clearly. We're relatively new to the area and had a family trip coming up so we needed to board our dogs. They haven't spent a lot of time away from us and can be very anxious when it comes to being away from home, so we started taking them for daycare at Bow Wow to see how they would do. Daycare went wonderfully but I was still very anxious about boarding them. The day to drop them off comes and I'm practically in tears but I was assured that they would treat our dogs like their own and they did! They always responded to any questions or concerns we had. Camp Bow Wow went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were as comfortable as possible, even going as far as to hand feed the more stubborn of our two dogs. I cannot fully express how relieved I was by their level of care and how much their attentiveness meant to us. We will definitely be using them for any future boarding and daycare needs. read more

We took our puppy Bo in for a day of daycare because we wanted him to get some play time in with other dogs. Missy, one of the owners, explained how everything worked, and she spent a fair amount of time with us and making sure Bo was fit to join the pack. We watched him on a webcam get slowly integrated in with the pack. There were probably 20-25 dogs in his play area. I think they restrict areas by the weight of the dog which is good. Luckily he does well with most dogs so I wasn't concerned. The dogs have access to an outdoor area. I was glad to see that. Very clean facility. I was impressed with how organized things are on the multiple dry erase boards and how they manage the feedings, medication etc for the day campers and overnighters. I like the amount of supervision provided by the staff. This was my first experience with a chain-type doggy day care and I had a good overall impression. Sometimes I take the dog to my friend's house (she dog sits as a side business). For the people who post about their dogs contracting illnesses, come on. This is no different than taking a kid to day care. They are exposed to different illnesses all the time. Camp Bow Wow requires up-to-date vaccinations which is solid, and they really do do a great job with enzymatic cleaners and keeping the facility clean but still, germs are ever-present no matter where you go. If an owner is that concerned about it, then hire a private dog nanny to come to your home. read more

The place is great, and they take great care of my dog while I am away, however I have a few issues. My dog is very submissive, and typically when I check the cameras he's... well, at the bottom of the totem pole haha. I know they are dogs and all but I wish they would split that up when they saw it happening, but that is not the reason for only 4 stars because it's not that much of a complaint. My main complaint is about their camera quality. Whenever I go to check and see how my dog is it's lagging as bad as Fortnite when I have 2 bars of wifi, and the quality is very bad and I can barely make out anything. Other than that though, it's a lovely place, and I 10/10 recommend it!! read more

My fiance and I have stopped using camp bow wow for our fur babies due to our experiences with this location over the past year and a half. We were never huge fans of them because our dogs would always come back dirty or sick (throwing up or diarrhea) but we went through them out of convenience. The breaking point for us was when we took our new addition and was denied 10 minutes into the "interview" process a few months ago. They denied services for him and told me to check again in a month because he was still a puppy and scared of the other dogs. The lady reassured me that a "trainer" was with her to confirm this assessment. I felt as though my dog was not given enough time to adapt to the environment and my business was not valued. The next day we decided to explore Rover.com. We set up 3 different interview appointments that same week and got approved by every sitter we met. During the Rover meeting process, the sitters spent a minimum of 30 minutes talking with us and observing the dogs interactions with each other before approving or denying services. This gave us more peace of mind because we got to learn about the sitter and their environment. Getting denied at this location was a blessing in disguise because we may have never explored other options since we thought camp bow wow was such a convenience. My advice to anyone looking for dog boarding or daycare services.. ROVER.COM. I cannot express it enough! This service is easy to use, cheaper and convenient. Your fur babies will appreciate their new, intimate environment too. The smelly warehouse at camp bow wow where the dogs are stored is disgusting and most likely what's contributing to any sickness the dogs pick up while they're there. The Highland Heights location is exceptionally convenient for me when I need to put in a few hours of work and don't want to use a full package day at Cuyahoga Falls with the additional time it takes to make the commute. I've been taking my dogs to Camp Bow Wow every work day for years and I'd recommend either location to anyone. There were three things that made me drop my review. I have moved so I won't be taking my dog here anyway but I thought I'd update for other patrons. These events occurred on two occasions this is not all from the same visit. 1. My pup came home with a bloody paw. 2. It appeared my dog was kept in his cage and not in the open play area for possibly two days while boarding for a week. 3. I paid ahead of time for boarding so my sister could pick up my dog without paying but they charged her again. #1. Okay, so the paw thing, I get it, dogs get rowdy but they didn't say anything to me, I noticed it as I left and went in to ask about it. Of course there was no explanation. #2. I'm glad they had cameras so I could watch my dog run around during the day. I checked him each moment I could. But on several occasions he wasn't in the play room for whole days. I was on the west coast so by the time I woke up they had been out for a bit. I'd immediately check on my fella and when I didn't see him I'd call to ask why. They told me he had to go to his pen due to over excitement. The thing that bothers me about this is that my dog was young and playful not aggressive, he was nearly a year at this point so why wasn't there an alternative to just locking him up alone for hours? Considering they're left alone over night I'm sure he hated it. I'm not sure active dogs get the attention they should here. #3. They double charged us. I don't know how it wasn't indicated he was paid for in full but apparently it wasn't. My sister picked up my dog and called me saying she had to pay although I told her she didn't. I asked her the amount and it was what I had already paid. She was reluctant to argue with them at the time but at least called before she drove off. I called the office and eventually cleared it up so my sister could go back in and get refunded but geez, let's get organized. I hope they don't miss charge other people. read more

If you care about your dog... Then don't bring them here! We had the same experience that other yelpers complained about... Our dog was left in a cage all day!!! We were told that the person in charge wasn't in and that it was overlooked by the staff. Thank goodness for the cameras is all I have to say! Our dog was going every once in awhile to get some exercise and socialization when we were at work... Well being shoved in a cage all day doesn't cut it for us!!! There was no remorse from the staff. I wouldn't recommend the Highland Heights location to anyone!!! My large dog was forgotten about in a cage all day, without water, food or exercise.- these facts were later verified by an employee of Camp bowwow. Myself and some family members of mine couldn't see our dog on the live webcam so we called in to find out where he was. We were lied to throughout the day about his whereabouts. You would think that a place with live streaming webcams would be on their A-game, but not this one!! Keep reading; this is where not good turns into epic failure... It proved to be a total waste of time when we brought our complaints to Amy, the owner. She was immediately combative and instead of trying to fix the situation, she made things WAY worse!! -Instead of me going into detail about what she did/said (beyond unprofessional), I think its best to say that it was just a terrible experience all around!! I wish I could upload the drunken voicemail that she left me at 6pm one evening. It's hard to make out what she was saying because she is slurring her words so much but, it always is good for a laugh. Missy and the staff are amazing with my puppy and she loves to come and play with them. Sadie has been attending Camp Bow Wow since she was 4 months (7 months old now) and goes 3-4 days a week. She runs and pulls me to the door when she gets out of the car, eager to greet all the counselors and her doggie friends! Recently, she stayed boarded in their cozy cabins while we were out of town for Thanksgiving. It was great to be able to check in our her everyday and see her on the webcams and see that she was playing, tail high and having a blast! Best of all, when we pick her up in the evening, she has had a full day of interaction with others and is ready to cuddle and settle down with us for the night. WOW!! This franchise was just taken over my Corporate....what a HORRIBLE experience! We received an email over the weekend letting us know about the take over. Little did we know, nor did they have the courtesy to tell us their paperwork was not up to date. As a result, I showed up to drop off my two dogs, only to be told I needed to give them proof of my dogs vaccinations. I don't carry that stuff around with me on a daily basis. Of course, my veterinarian wasn't open yet. They refused to take my dogs, one of whom has been going for over a year. I had to take them home and was late for work. There's also some big, white guy with glasses and short grey hair behind the desk that won't identify himself, but obviously is from Corporate that is rude beyond belief!! Very Disappointed. When looking for a place to board my dogs, I spent hours reading reviews. This location seemed to have positive reviews and therefore I decided to try it. Unfortunately, the kennel did not meet my expectations. I made reservations to have my dogs boarded about a month prior to leaving for vacation. When dropping my dogs off the young girl at the counter had no idea where my reservation was and looked around for a good 20ish minutes until finally finding the paper work, this was extremely disappointing and nerve wrecking. We booked cuddle time for the middle of the trip and when picking the dogs up they notified us that the dogs had cuddle time the day we dropped them off. What is the point of scheduling a service when the workers will pick whatever day they choose to administer it. My little Yorkie had a cut in her stomach and the manager said it was from playing , which is fine but why didnt they say anything until we asked about it.. We were also notifed that our dogs didn't eat one of the days and were disappointed to learn that they didn't decide to call us ...because they didn't want to worry us. Well after learning how disorganized the staff is we are extremely worried now and will be sure to inform our friends and coworkers to look else where when deciding to leave their dogs in the hands of people that really don't seem to care. read more

My experience with Camp Bow Wow Highland Heights started out positive but then turned into a dog owner's nightmare. I moved to the area recently and had used Camp Bow Wow previously and had great experiences. I was needing some last minute reservations for my two dogs and CBW was very accommodating, even contacting my dogs' previous CBW to get their medical information and paperwork. My dogs were booked to board for a week and based on the reviews, I felt very good about leaving them there for that long. I checked the webcams daily and while I didn't see a lot of my older dog toward the last few days of his stay, I called to check on him and was reassured that he was doing fine. When I went to pick up my dogs, when my older dog walked out into the lobby, I immediately knew something was wrong. He was holding his head with his ear to the ground and was crying. The woman who brought him out told me she "just noticed" that something had happened to his ear. When I looked closer, I was horrified. He had clearly been bitten and the wound was extremely infected; the ear was covered in pus and blood, smelled horrible, and he had dried blood caked in the inside of his ear. He was in extreme pain as he wouldn't stop screaming in the lobby. I was the only one alarmed; when I told them I just moved here and asked for contact numbers for local vets, none of the staff was able to get me any numbers. I rushed my dog to a wonderful vet that accepted him that same day. She also was horrified at the sight of his ear and said the bite wound clearly was several days old, as the infection had progressed too far to be inflicted that same day. She irrigated the wound and my dog was sent home with two weeks of antibiotics and pain medication. I understand that dogs get into fights and that's not why I will NEVER bring my dogs to CBW Highland Heights. Rather, I'm very upset that my dog clearly was suffering and in pain for multiple days and no one noticed enough to even call me. Furthermore, I'm completely unimpressed that none of the staff could recommend a vet when asked for one. CBW clearly did not pay enough attention to notice an injured dog and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We had been very satisfied with Camp Bow Wow in the past. Our dogs loved going there and playing with the other dogs, and they were more than price competitive with our previous boarder, The Barkley. However, the last time we boarded them with Camp Bow Wow, one of our dogs returned with a 9mm diameter puncture wound in her chest. When we complained to the owner, she apologized, but disclaimed any responsibility for the injury and became surly and combative when I pressed the issue. We understand that mistakes happen and when they do, the only thing we expect is accountability. Instead, we were met with a combative owner who took no ownership of the problem. We no longer have any faith in their ability to watch our dogs safely or responsibly and we'll never be back. read more

Our dog literally goes nuts when we mention it. Camp Bow Wow is such a friendly and welcoming environment to dogs. You would never expect it to be located where it is (in the middle of a long office park side street). The staff is very friendly, especially the owner, the dog play and sleep areas are well-maintained, and it is overall just a wonderful experience. The prices are very reasonable and the hours are flexible, as well. Although, before you get too excited... there is a free doggy interview that your dog must attend. The employees there then decide if your dog is allowed to join the other campers. When you pick your dog up, you will receive a cute little report card!! We have total confidence in trusting Camp Bow Wow with our dog. They even have cameras for you to watch your four-legged family member play and interact with the other dogs that are there. By the way, if you are a first-timer, be sure to ask them for a free tour of the facility. You will be impressed. read more

Just started going to Camp Bow Wow, but had a very good first experience, no complaints. The front lobby area is very cute and clean and I love that they have a tv monitor with the cameras to view the dogs. I also love being able to view the cameras to check on my dogs throughout the day, although the cameras were down online when I took my dogs, but it didn't seem to be a common issue, it was just that they had internet issues that day and it was being worked on while I was dropping my dogs off. Staff is friendly and helpful and the welcome folder they give you has great information and coupons for future use. I will be returning :) read more

4 stars instead of 5 because they do not have staff on site 24 hours. Therefore, I can't board my dog there. Daycare at Camp Bow Wow is amazing!!! My little guy loves it and his tail starts wagging as soon as we pull into the parking lot. He always leaves happy and sleepy, a sign of a great day playing with his buddies. Special shout out to Leanne and Lydia, who my little one just adores and can't wait to jump up on and lick! They have "camper cams" set up so you can watch your doggie online, but unfortunately they are never working. Bummer. I bring my Ashley (Dalmatian) to Camp Bow Wow for overnight stays. They greet her by Name as soon as we walk through the door. The camp counselors LOVE the dogs. They are so good with my Ashley and Ashley loves it so much she is EXHAUSTED when she comes home. The only bad part is she has so much fun that when she gets home her hips hurt her so bad and she can hardly walk! Poor Puppy! But she just LOVES going there and is SO EXCITED when she sees us pulling up to the door. That makes me feel good about leaving her there. :-) read more

On the Camp Bow Wow app, near day's end, when the dogs are winding down and waiting for their pick-ups by their humans, I recently observed a wonderful caregiver-Lisa-petting our dog and another dog simultaneously. To equally share her love and attention, she focused her actions and efforts on engaging both animals, at once. Wow! This sweet act of on-camera care went on for many minutes. To me, this was the definition of "love". What a dedicated, truly-loving staff member! Our dog receives loving care from many individuals like this, at Highland Heights Camp Bow Wow. This is one of the several positives of bringing our dog to daycare, here. Our dog can be a diva; I am gratified that Camp Bow Wow knows and understands her quirks and personality, so very well. It has been my experience that many of the caregivers here are absolutely dedicated to the love and care of dogs. As these individuals have declared to me during my visits to the facility, it is this dedication that drew them to the job, in the first place. Last year, for several months, I was committed in nearly round-the-clock care of my husband who was involved in a serious accident. Our dog had to suddenly spend many days and nights, at Camp Bow Wow Highland Heights, due to the recovery demands of this accident. Required lengthy absences from home, for both of us, and my husband's temporary, yet intensive physical needs were a daily reality. This all necessitated an immediate and longer-than-average period of away-from-home canine care for our little family member. Though the separation from our beloved pet was painful-and, our dog missed us fiercely-at the time, we knew that she was well-cared for and loved as much by her Camp Bow Wow caregivers, as us. We have been customers of this local facility since it opened. We believe that praise and recognition of excellent work should always be given. My dog absolutely LOVES Camp Bow Wow! All we have to say is "wanna go to Bow Wow?" and he gets excited. I always try to say goodbye, but he's so busy trying to get in the back to see his buddies that I don't even get a second look. I take my dog there mainly for boarding (a few daycare days thrown in the mix to keep him happy) and I love that it's a fixed price. A lot of other places have ala cart pricing which makes you think you're getting a good deal until you add up all those "extras". At Camp my dog is free to play all day and can go outside whenever he needs/wants to. I also love that I can check in on him on the camper cams. I even recently pulled the cam up at a client meeting so everyone could see what Camp Bow Wow was all about! I've never had any problems with Camp and my dog obviously loves it. A neighbor told us about Camp Bow Wow in Highland Heights, Ohio. I was very skeptical at first leaving our new puppy with strangers and a whole bunch of strange dogs. However, that perception did 180. Before bring our dog there we were given a tour of the entire facility. All questions I had were answered before I even asked them by the obviously caring and knowledgeable staff on hand. I was also pleasantly surprised when we were enrolling our dog that they required a copy of the dogs up to date vet records! Awesome requirement. Recently, our dog had a couple minor self inflicted incidents. In each case I was immediately informed of this. The employee brought our dog to the lobby, showed the issue and explained what remedy had been done. Again, not once did I have to ask a question. All of the staff I have engaged with at the highland Heights location have been wonderful. You can tell they really care for the pets while in their care. The webcam is a great touch. You can see someone in the frame all the time. So you know a human is always present in the play area which is broken up by the dog sizes. You can also see that they keep all area's clean of any 'mishaps'. As for our dog...she LOVES going.Everytime she hears us say CAMP BOW WOW we had better be going....So we have had to come up a with a code word so we don't get the dog all excited! I could go on and on about what a great service and how well the staff performs their duties, but I must go now and pick up our dog from where else???? I was very impressed with the facility and staff. Left my puppy there for 5 hours and he was happy and tired when I picked him up. I left him overnight for the first time last weekend. I was a little anxious when I found out that no one one is on site after 7pm. But he was fine when I picked him up the next day. I really would prefer that someone stay with the dogs at night. It would make me feel better. I will use overnight camp only when I have no other options. The day camp rocks! The staff are so loving with the pups and I love watching in the camp cam. read more

The second time I know they have a serious problem. My dog has never been sick..except when visiting this place. The administration denies any responsibility.
