My recent visit with Lacey was traumatizing :-( She must've been having a real bad day cuz she butchered my dog! I knew my pups ears were puffy and they called to tell me they'd have to be shaved down, it's literally to her skin all around the edges to the point it looks painful and all sorts of areas that were not trimmed off like weird little sprigs all over. We took my Daughter's Cavapoo for a grooming, her first one ever. Our experience was excellent. The groomer Lacy was very patient and helpful. Paws and Effect went above and beyond to give her a beautiful cut. I asked for bows and they put cute Halloween ones in! My Grandchildren loved how cute she looked. The price was very reasonable and included her nails trimmed and ears cleaned. I was impressed with the cleanliness and organized the staff are. This location is conveniently located and lots of parking. We are thrilled with the service and plan on returning in the future. Hope to try out the day care too! read more

Amazing place for boarding and daycare!! I have a 4 month old mini goldendoodle and had to leave the poor buddy when he was super young for boarding for a few days. I felt so badly doing that but the staff at paws and effect made us feel very comfortable and when I saw them interact with my puppy, you can tell how much they truly enjoy animals. My puppy pretty much had an extended vacation- based on videos that the staff sent us throughout his stay there, he looked so happy and was well taken care of. The pricing is reasonable and they follow any instructions you provide in terms of feeding, play time etc. My mind is at ease to know that if I ever need to leave town for a few days that my puppy will be well taken care of at Paws and Effect! read more

I probably should have been concerned when I was denied a tour of the facilities. When I dropped my dog off he was in good health. When I picked him up he had a respiratory problem. I was never called or notified of the problem. I only learned if it when I called to check on his welfare. Took my pet to the vets today to learn that he has contracted Kennel Cough. Now I have a veterinarian bill plus a prescription. I am sure they are good groomers and day care center. Long term boarding, I probably would not return. read more

Paws & Effect had become my go to for cat grooming until his last cut looked like a rushed butchered job and he was shaking and terrified when I came to pick him up. I have not returned since and will never recommend this groomer ever again to anyone. I feel that the new building changed the groomer I came to know. Best dog groomer period. I have a toy poodle that is a very problematic dog. For years it was trouble getting it groomed and we always had issues with the dog coming back home in pain because the groomer restrained him in ways that were hurting him. Many times groomers would not groom around the face and eyes because my dog might get bitey. Upon picking my dog from groomers, my dog always looked scared and very distressed. Paws & Effect is the first place that was able to groom my dog very nicely. Upon picking up the dog, the dog not only was not in any pain or discomfort, but he seemed genuinely happy, something I never saw with my dog. I cannot recommend their grooming service enough. Get your dog groomed here if you want to give them kennel cough! They have very little to no practice with checking up on vaccinations for dogs to see if they are up to date on their vaccines. We loved taking our dog here until he got consistently sick. Called to see what their protocols to check on yearly vaccinations and they don't have one! Absolutely ridiculous when something like that is so important and helps the health of their clients. read more

I am always happy to book a service like boarding for my dog with this local business. The staff are very friendly and easy to work with each time! My dog also attends day care often, which I cannot recommend enough! In the past my dog attended a few day cares where sometimes play was not in a group or there was not an outside option. Paws & Effect have all of that and more! They make it easy to drop off with no appointment needed! They give my dog great attention and for a small dog, he plays with the whole pack and comes back relaxed!! One time, we had an at home small injury and the next day they noticed the mark on my dog's ear and called me up to make sure it was not from the day care play. It gave me great confidence to know they are watching our and want the best for my dog!! read more

We just took our 2 dogs there last week and will not be returning. We had been taking them for 6 years, starting when they were at the Rocky River Location and they were much better. The last 3 times I have taken my dogs there they forgot to call us when they were ready, and this last time my poor dogs were there for 5 hours! They put me on hold when I called to ask when they would be ready, so after 10 minutes of that I drove there. When I arrived there were 4 people just sitting behind the desk. They apologized for not calling and said someone called in sick. This was 3 hours into the appointment!! When I picked up the dogs. I could tell they did a rush job and the haircuts were not good. It seems they lack the staff and capacity to take the number of appointments that they do. They did not even apologize for keeping my dogs for 5 hours!!! I felt terrible for my dogs! So I will not be back. I don't want to put them through that again. read more

I boarded two dogs over 5 days and was very disappointed. First, I was not permitted to see the boarding area because it "would upset the dogs". Second, and most importantly, both of my dogs developed horrible coughs after boarding. I have 3 other dogs, and the infection affected them as well. We have been taking our dogs to Paws & Effect for 6 years now. This past Wednesday they had a 10 am appointment. Shampoo, cut and nails trimmed. We had heard from them by 1:00. My wife was out running errands and called for the status. Was on hold for 10 minutes so she decided to stop and see what the issue was. People were sitting behind the desk. My wife asked about the dogs. They said that they were short staff and it would be more time. Finally got a call at 2:38 that the dogs were completed. No apologies. They did a terrible job. Nails weren't trimmed. We just got out of there. First if they had issues they should have called us to let us know. I don't like that they sat is gages for 3 hours before getting groomed. From time we dropped them off and time they were completed was 4 and half hours. Totally unacceptable. I have noticed service has dropped off. Additionally, they are friendly like they use to be. Think it might be time to find another groomer. New place just opened right down the street from them. Going to see how there service is. read more

Thank you Jason! This is my go-to place for my Lucy. Jason and his staff always know exactly how to groom my yorkie, and let me tell you, I'm not easy to please. I love how you don't have to wait forever to get an appointment, IDK why but good groomers are in high demand. Some (who will remain unnamed) schedule 6 months in advance...WTF. Paws and Effect get Lucy in the same week, which is extremely convenient for me. The services are affordable, which is a huge plus. I pay $40 for a full groom for my small yorkie. (I've paid upwards $60-70 at other places.) They truly care about my dog, which makes me feel comfortable with leaving her with them. I don't have to worry about mistreatment or anything like that. I cannot say enough about this AMAZING place. The staff treats my dogs (owners too!!) like family. I used to worry when leaving my dog at other groomers but I am never worried here. A big "bark" goes out to Christine at Paws & Effect for doing a great job grooming my Maltese Comet. Christine was super patient with my full-of-personality Comet who was a handful to trim and groom. Comet was named after one of Santa's reindeer but he's definitely on the naughty list when it comes to staying calm for grooming. He needs a lot of TLC for his bath and cut. I brought my dog to Jason for regular groomings. I was always happy with the cut and his prices were reasonable. However, I noticed that shortly after groomings, my dog would develop ear infections, which reoccured every time he was groomed. Then one day, my dog began acting lethergic and leaking stinky, gooey blood from his anus the next day. I took him to the vet who diagnosed him with infected anal glands. I had just had him groomed no more than a week prior so I called Jason to ask if he recalled expressing him. Jason replied no- that expressing was extra and I had to request it. Are you kidding me?!? If you're not going to include a standard grooming procedure in your fee, you should disclose that to your customers! I've brought my dogs to three other groomers over the years and all of them included expressing in their fees. Looks like Jason doesn't do the "dirty work." read more

I have been taking my dogs to Paws & Effect for a few years and my son takes his dog there as well. We simply love this place. Jason really cares about his clients and the rest of the staff is friendly and very accommodating. When making an appointment I usually can get an appointment within a week of calling and sometimes the same week. The prices are very reasonable and a lot less then some of the other area groomers which makes this place all the more attractive and keeps me coming back. They own a Doggie Day care next door which is convenient if you are working and need to drop off your dog in the morning prior to work and then have them groomed and pick them up after work. The dogs in the day care have a large area to run around and always look very happy to be there. I can not say enough good things about this business. Do not hesitate to trust them with your precious fur-babies. They really do care about their customers. read more

My dog has anxiety every time she goes to the groomer and it breaks my heart when I see her sad puppy eyes. Having just moved to Cleveland it was difficult for me to choose a new groomer for her. Paws and Effects was recommended to me by a relative and the employee who took my appointment immediately put me at ease! They listened carefully to what I wanted for Annabelle (my dog) and even recommended a new vet for me! She will continue to go here because I feel comfortable leaving her in their care.
