Until we went on a highly anticipated 2 week cruise / land vacation to Hawaii to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary during the winter of February 2025.. We had a PROFESSIONAL SNOW PLOW SERVICE scheduled to clear our driveway.. Marlene, the business owner called us while we were in port at one of the islands preparing to leave for dinner.. and informed us that our driveway was not clear enough & if the snow wasn't appropriately cleared, she would not have her workers stop by, & our dogs wouldn't be fed!!! I was frantically trying to call our professional snow plowing service in Ohio before our ship left port & we would lose cell service. My niece was staying at our house at night during our trip, & she took pics of our driveway, & the snow was adequately cleared. When we arrived home from our trip, the FRONT DOOR was NOT LOCKED, & there was 40 pieces of UNCOLLECTED MAIL IN OUR MAILBOX. There was also dog vomit on the pillows on our living room couch.. When I let Marlene know of the situation we came home to..she was very rude & unprofessional & accused my 30 year old niece of leaving the door unlocked, & not cleaning up the dog mess in the living room! Then she told me I was exaggerating about the mail. One of Marlene's duties was to collect the mail daily.. Our mail was nearly falling out of the mailbox into the ditch! As far as my niece leaving the dog vomit & the front door unlocked, (which she would never do), our niece left our house at 7:00 am in the morning, & Marlene's "helpers" were the last people at our home before we arrived home later that afternoon after a 20 hour flight home from Hawaii. Marlene caused what should have been a wonderful cruise & vacation to Hawaii to be stressful for my husband & I, as we were concerned our dogs would not be attended to properly.. She was rude & cold & uncaring towards me when I tried to converse with her about the condition our home was in when we returned from our trip. I am writing this review now, a year later, because I want to spare anyone else Marlene's unprofessional & rude treatment. If you plan to use Marlene's service during Spring, Summer, Fall.. it will be fine. DO NOT USE HER SERVICE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, as she is unreliable in the event of snow..

I fell in love with this beautiful, strong, loyal, working-dog breed. I have loved each and every one of them with my WHOLE heart. But as a self-described"mushy, touchy-feely marshmello type " person, I've never been able to handle them in the way I wanted. OR handle them in the way they needed to be handled. I wanted it to be different this time when we got Tuco ( our now 11 month old Rottie). He's very smart but very STRONG WILLED to say the least. As I was told " he was playing me like a Fiddle" (thanks Brian). So I called Elite K911 for help. Our dogs in the past were wonderful too but I had a hard time handling them..........I realized the common denominator was ME! We started out with both private and group lessons and the classes helped IMMENSELY! TUCO learned HOW to follow all the simple commands but I just couldn't get his respect and attention to follow through......I was getting so frustrated to the point of tears sometimes. So Chuck, the owner of the school suggested that we try the Board and Train.....the best dog care decision we've ever made. Not just because they taught Tuco to behave , but because they taught US how to behave around him. During the 3 weeks he was there they had us come in several times to interact and learn how to READ him and GUIDE him. Let's face, it's great that they are professionals and know how to do this with your dog but WE are the ones who are gonna live with them. Elite's specialized training lays down the foundation and blueprint for success. Then they taught us step by step how to maintain and solidify those behaviors. Those multiple private one on one lessons while he was boarding were priceless. We loved the team approach they provide. Brian is a master at teaching you about how your dog's brain works, and how we, as Tuco's parents, need to read that and interact with him . Andrea always gave us the solid and steady guidance we needed (especially when I was so frustrated with myself). She is so patient ! They both encouraged me and told me that I could do this, and that was important. I actually have some confidence that I can give him what he needs. They tell you from Day 1, it's "leadership" that our dogs need, not a million treats a day! Thank you Brian and Andrea!! And we really want to thank the entire school . Utmost professionalism! You walk in and everyone is "on your team" to support you. Devon, the office manager is so friendly and accommodating. Lexi and Angelique who work at the front desk give you their undivided attention with your concerns. Even though Heather was not our main trainer she worked with Tuco a lot and offered us her valuable "big-breed dog" wisdom . Every time I see Chuck at the school or at pack walk, he's always there to offer support to anyone. All the assistant handlers make you feel like your dog is cared for and loved. Since Tuco's come home he is more confident and calm than ever.......and now we are too!. We no longer have to "negotiate" or feel so much frustration. Learning to communicate with Tuco has been a life saver. I know that the only way he will maintain all that he's learned is if WE stay the course.With the board and train package we will get 2 follow ups just to make sure we're all on track.
