I prefer not to order flowers online, so I found Lord Baltimore Florist on Yelp with excellent reviews, so I placed a call to the shop. Jacque answered the phone with such a cheerful and energetic voice! She was thrilled to help me with my special order and made suggestions when I told her the occasion and colors. Then I asked her about the shop and she told me that her grandfather started the business in 1930 with its original location in the Lord Baltimore Hotel. A third generation Florist, Jacque is an award winning floral designer and I felt like I was receiving concierge service for a flower order!! Lord Baltimore is really an awesome place - they've done really well with me, an admittedly rather difficult client. I've ordered flowers from Lord Baltimore twice, and in both cases asked for relatively late delivery on relatively short notice. Both times, the flowers were not only excellently done and exactly as requested, but the delivery timing and overall speed was perfect. On top of it all, the pricing isn't greatly over other flower shops in the area, meaning that I didn't have to pay a premium for the service. I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

It was surprisingly difficult to find a florist within the vicinity of the Hyatt Regency Baltimore that is open on a Saturday afternoon. We approached Lord Baltimore about to give up, but hooray, they were open. Jackie, the owner, was very busy preparing for a floral delivery to an event that evening, but she dropped what she was doing to help us. She put together a beautiful arrangement with some exotics... it was lovely. But most of all, it was the can-do, accommodating spirit that she and her staff exhibited. They even offered us a ride back to our hotel! This is the kind of personalized service that we don't see as much anymore. If I lived here, I'd use them all the time. I ordered an arrangement hoping for same day delivery several hours before the deadline for such a request to be fulfilled. I received no notice of a delay until called into the store. I was quickly rushed off the phone and told I'd get a call back in 10 minutes. I did get a call back as promised, but the rep I spoke with made excuses about a "computer glitch" for about 5 minutes before telling me my order wasn't going to be delivered that day. I tried to talk down the price as my request was obviously not met and was quickly denied and told my only options were to cancel the order and receive a refund or to just have to arrangement delivered the next day. The lady did mention that they could "upgrade" my order but upon arrival it was clearly not any more than what I ordered originally. So in short I paid about $80 for a 36 hour late delivery. Ridiculous! My coworkers and I ordered flowers for one of our colleagues, spending $77, which included delivery. The bouquet is so tiny, and looks like something we picked up at the local grocery store for $10. Even the bow around the vase is wrinkled. We will NEVER order flowers from your shop again...GUARANTEED! So much for a 100% guarantee, we called, and all the person did was to argue with us, telling us to look at the dimensions on the website. I couldn't find an open florists for flowers for a friend's recital but came upon this gem. Don't let the small floor plan fool you - this tiny shop has more variety in it I would have thought possible. I went in thinking I would spend about 30 bucks on flowers - simple arrangement of carnations, roses, and baby's breath and walked out with a gorgeous bouquet of birds of paradise and other exotic flowers for about 37 dollars - worth the extra money because these flowers tend to last several weeks in water as opposed to two-three days. The owner Jackie is very pleasant to work with and extremely knowledgable in her business and has the two cutest dogs ever. Visit her shop. I needed to get some balloons and flowers delivered the same day to a hotel for my daughters 16th birthday. It had been a really long, tough week and added to the other drama, I was out of town (yes, I will not win father of the year for being out of town on the birthday, I get it). I searched Yelp and found Lord Baltimore. I placed a call at around 3:00 and spoke with the owner (I believe). He asked a few questions about what I was looking for and how much I could spend. Then he asked about the location for the delivery. He said that the delivery person had already left (for the last run of the day I assumed) but that he would deliver them himself. I wasn't there to see the actual display he put together but my daughter (and her sister and mom) were impressed. Once I got home I saw that he did a 5 balloon display with a very nice arrangement of flowers. It was perfect. And the service was terrific. When my wife brought the flowers home from work, I could not believe how small it was. I should've known I was in trouble when she said that she put the vase in the cupholder to transport it home. I ordered the money tree that looked like a mini zen garden. Too bad the plants that was delivered did not look the same. Far from asian inspired or zen looking..... It looked like wild plants that would have been randomly growing on the side of the road in an easter basket that looked like they would have fought the poor easter bunny over in order to send the plants. Very disappointed considering the cost of what was paid for and what was actually delivered.. they could have did a better job with substitution or better yet if you don't have that particular arrangement either list as out of stock or take the listing down!! Not wanting to use that awful 1-800 #. I google map the location where I want to send flowers and look for nearby "local" florists. Making use of street view to be sure location is indeed an actual "local" shop helps seal the deal. I picked a Winner when I choose Lord Baltimore. I ordered a plant/dish garden for my daughter. The owner, Jackie, (I hope that's correct) called to be sure I knew the online product I chose was not in stock but also in reality really small. She had other plants if I wanted to stick with that small size or she had the plant I wanted only in a larger size for pennies more. I was so happy she called. I had chosen the particular plant for the plants meaning, as my daughter had just heard she got the job she was hoping for to satisfy her Masters practicum. I love supporting local businesses and I learned that Jackie is the 3rd generation owner of the business started by her grandfather in 1930. Thank you Jackie and Lord Baltimore Florist. May you have many more generations of success. One last thing: In speaking with Jackie, she pointed out that it is far better to actually call and speak to a knowledgable florist than to order just from a picture online. I would never recommend this florist. Unfortunately their photographs on the website are exceptionally misleading. The flowers in the photographs are much smaller than displayed and the arrangements are poorly designed. Their customer service is terrible and there is no such thing as a money back guarantee. Their flower arrangements are horrible. My husband got me a bouquet for V Day and it is all carnations and daisies with 2 roses. The cost...85.00. Definitely not worth it.
