I specifically came for some zinnia flower seeds, and they had a great selection of Renee's Garden seeds. I picked up 5 packets and then headed out into the garden section to see what else might pique my interest. I saw some colorful plastic and durable pots in various sizes. I couldn't figure out the gallon sizes of the pots even when looking at the price labels. Instead of gallon sizes, it gave inch measurements. Oh well, I guess I'll have to eyeball it. At the register I reminded the cashier about my senior discount, and he asked for my phone number. None of the numbers worked (even though they have in the past), so we resorted to using my husband's number. The store was festively decorated for Christmas, and I might come back for some cute lawn decorations, when they are discounted after the holidays! LOL Can't wait to sow my zinnia seeds for next year's summer blooms!

They've really honored the tradition of the former Orchard Supply Hardware. I try to make this my first stop when looking for hardware items and avoid the big box stores. (At least as my first stop, more on that..) The challenge I have is that about a third of the time, I won't find what I'm looking for here and have to look elsewhere anyway. I love, though, how there are knowledgeable people working here who are genuinely interested in and available to help me. Their stores are a nice, manageable size (I don't feel like I need a roadmap to get around them, like the big box guys.) Plus there are often liquidation deals and sales that make things enticing. If you support local retail, as I do, I recommend popping into your local Outdoor Supply Hardware next time you need a hardware item!

The main reason why I love shopping at Lowe's is for their clearance rack of plants. These plants don't look dead or dried up; they are priced low in order to be moved out for new inventory. Other nurseries offer 50% off for crappy plants. Go to Lowe's, you'll find quality plants to choose from. Today I found some $4.98 mums in various colors for only $2 a pot. Sameeh was the nursery's front-end cashier. I appreciated that he began our transaction by asking if we qualified for a military discount. We did not, but it was good that he asked. I made sure that he knew my plants were on clearance for $2, and he quickly processed the discount. Sameeh was very friendly in our interaction. He is a great asset to the company. Our first reason to shop at Lowe's today was to do an exchange of a propane tank. While my husband went inside to facilitate that, I waited outside with our empty tank in a cart (since these are not allowed inside the store). A kind gentleman named Oscar, who walked from the parking lot, asked if I needed help and I explained that I was just waiting for my husband to finish up the exchange transaction. Oscar then proceeded to open one of the propane cages, put my empty one in, and then opened another propane cage to get a refilled one! This is another example of great customer service. I didn't know that Oscar was a Lowe's employee at first, but I was impressed that he saw a customer in need and took care of it! Get thee to Lowe's, you won't regret it!

This was perfect for me as I've been wanting to purchase a specific plant for a friend and hoped it would be available during this fall season. Found the plant and took it to the nursery register. I was warmly and genuinely greeted by Jackie, who showed me the prettiest orange poinsettia plant! I wasn't in the market for it, but now I wanted it! However, my main purpose was to buy the Tecoma bush at 50% off. I showed Jackie my phone with the email ad. Since there was no barcode scan on the email, she had to try another way to mark my purchase at 50% off. Finally, she had to ask a manager, who tried to say that not all Ace Hardware stores might be participating in this promotion... My husband explained that S. King Rd. location was printed on the email... Then the manager okayed the discount... I was surprised that they were unaware about the Black Friday promotion, but happily I eventually left satisfied. So, I was extremely disappointed today when I placed a mixed order--half pickup, half delivery--and the app failed. When I arrived to pick it up, the check-in button didn't work, so I had to call Customer Service to assist notify the staff. (Also letting them know about the bug on the mobile app) Once the staff member finally brought out my order, she treated me with complete dismissiveness; letting me know that she didn't receive any notifications. When I explained the app glitch--as if my half hour waiting in the car was some cosmic insult. Customer Service, thankfully, was fantastic--kind and responsive--so it's a shame the store experience was so dismal. I hope you fix this before your reputation--like your app--completely crashes. Why 2 stars instead of 1? Well, the customer service associate was exceptionally attentive, professional, and most importantly she did her job time 10. There's room for improvement Home Improvement.
