Interesting interior and patio layout. It both looks big, yet doesn't fit that many people. Parking can be a nightmare in this area, but it's a walkable neighborhood, so I didn't mind parking a few blocks away. Prices are okay. Portion sizes are slightly large. Staff are friendly, but this place is more of a takeout place, so there wasn't a lot of service when I was here. Food tasted great. I would come here again with some friends or just by myself. A friend recommended I check this restaurant out for lunch so I did. It's located in the heart of the Art District and parking sucks per usual. The restaurant is small and clean with a cute vintage water fountain for self service. I personally don't like that there isn't a menu on the wall. There's one menu on green paper on a stand on a counter away from the cashier. I decided to order the Birria bowl which comes with whole pinto beans, steamed rice, guacamole and pickled onions. The concept is very much like Chipotle minus the items not being visible when you order. For my taste, the Birria lacked flavor and there wasn't much consome in the bowl so it seemed a little dry. It wasn't horrible, it was different from what I'm used to. I may come back one day to try other items and I'd encourage you to check them out. Amazing tacos. My favorite was the shrimp taco on a flour tortilla. Birria taco was good, especially that they add a non-spicy pepper. Good place to go after lunch hours, and a good place to go eat something light. My only complaints are, I asked for the salsa on the side, so everything was a little spicy, and their rice was undercooked. Guacamole, beans and chips were yummy. I came here for the Fallout promotion and I have to say, what a deal! 33 cents for a taco?! And a really tasty one at that. Parking was easy, service was fast. This place is a little tucked away down an alley but I love the patio. It's feels like open, upscale modern Mexican but not fancy, very simplistic. The regular taco prices are a bit much but when you get one for 33 cents we thought it was a deal to order more. Since this is near my gym, I would come back. But be weary, in the hotter months the patio is only half shaded and those metal stools heat up fast. It's also dog friendly and they have a few vegetarian options but I'd love to see more! read more
