For a takeout order, we got: Pad kee mao: It came with American-style broccoli (which we could have anticipated), and the noodles were pretty ripped up (likely had been fresh noodles bought out of town, but refrigerated overnight or longer)--but it was tasty--and quite spicy! Thai Street Favorite: worst thing I can say is that the egg was fried HARD. One of the joys of this dish is enjoying a runny yolk seeping into the meat. But it did otherwise taste good, and was actually much spicier than anticipated (ordered this dish mild, was afraid that would mean bland). Definitely worth another go if I'm in town at dinnertime.

It's the kind of place that makes you want to keep coming back and support a local business. The only reason my visit took an emotional turn was unexpectedly seeing the owner of a nearby construction business. Knowing what I know, I instantly felt uneasy and uncomfortable. In a small town filled with so many families and children, that feeling hit even harder. I immediately knew I would never support that business again. Thankfully, that experience doesn't reflect this construction business at all. The business itself was wonderful, and the employees made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I truly hope this business continues to thrive because it deserves the support of the community.

Fantastic Experience at Loose Caboose Restaurant! My family and I yesterday visited the Loose Caboose Restaurant, and we had an absolutely delightful experience! We ordered two sandwiches , cheesecake blueberry and a hot dog, and each bite was bursting with flavor. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, especially for my son who adores trains. The walls adorned with vibrant train paintings and photos of trains everywhere made the atmosphere truly special. It felt like dining in a cozy train-themed paradise! The food exceeded our expectations, and the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Loose Caboose Restaurant is definitely the best place to eat, especially for families with kids who love trains. We can't wait to visit again soon! Highly recommended. read more

The food was amazing. The staff very nice. Had the Pesto Chicken Sandwich. BUT... Why cash or check only? Not a good thing to find out when you don't carry cash and are traveling. Conveniently they had a ATM Machine at the counter for you. The $2.95 fee to get your cash was unexpected. There's this thing called Square that might help this place take cards. Weird to see any business for cash only. And only 3 parking spots!! read more

The diner itself is clean, neat, and well maintained, and right away we noticed how friendly the staff was. Our server, May, was a total sweetheart--very kind, accommodating, and attentive. She truly stood out and made us feel welcome. Honestly, she would be a great manager if she isn't already. Unfortunately, there were a few issues. The first thing we noticed was that there was no hot water in the bathroom, which isn't ideal--especially on a cold night and from a hygiene perspective. Ray ordered the ribeye steak and was pretty disappointed. While it was $28, it lacked flavor and didn't have a proper sear or crust--it was gray and just not enjoyable. I ordered the vintage burger on toasted sourdough, and that was actually very good. I enjoyed it and thought it was well done. I really like to give full stars when they're deserved, but this experience just didn't quite add up. Great service and a clean space, but the food inconsistency and no hot water made it hard to rate higher. Hopefully these are things that can be improved because the staff--especially May--was excellent.

Szechuan is way too spicy for me, but they had a lot of items on the menu that were not spicy at all. I decided to go with a sizzling rice, soup, and the mu shu chicken. The restaurant was only a few minutes away, so I called my order in, and they told me it would be ready in just a few minutes. I go down to pick up my food, and it was a very nice restaurant. The people who ran the place were very friendly, and when they brought out my food, dear Lord... It was in a large box. I couldn't believe how much food I got. I brought it back to my room, and it was amazing. The soup had chicken, beef, and shrimp. The broth had a great flavor, and between the meat and the veggies, which were not mushy at all, there were a lot of "goodies" inside. It also came with a very decent sized portion of crispy rice to put in the soup. The moo shu was also very good. The chicken was tender and moist, and the veggies played very well with it. The "pancakes" actually reminded me of tortillas, but they were very good, and there were *5*of them. The order came with what I believe was a hoisin sauce on the side, and I put some of that in the moo shu, and some of that in the soup, and it just completely added to the flavor. I had enough for dinner, a snack later on, and breakfast in the morning. It was an amazing meal. The only reason I'm taking off half of a star, was because they didn't give me any silverware or napkins. I didn't think about looking when I got the meal, because I figured they would be there. Fortunately, I keep a set of travel silverware with me, and so I didn't have to go back to the restaurant to get the silverware. I don't know if they normally don't give the silverware or if they just forgot, but it was a very small glitch. Next time, I will double check. And yes, there will be a next time. Thanks!

We've only been here for breakfast, so I can't just the non-breakfast item. The restaurant is attached to a bar, that also has tables to eat in. I think this place a popular hang out for a drinking breakfast. Decor is 70's - 80's ish and not fancy. It is reasonably clean. It has one of the last salad bars on earth. Coffee was not fancy and felt like it came out of my mom's old percolator. The breakfast menu seems expensive. A few things to note - good luck on any kind of a healthy breakfast. You can't get egg white omelettes. They "don't do that". They also did not have juice? (Even though they are attached to a full bar?) The only substitutions for hash browns are pancakes or a biscuit and gravy. They don't do poached eggs, not even on the benedicts. Over a couple of visits, the other things noticed - bacon requested crispy comes out not nearly cooked enough and flaccid. The sausage felt a little raw in the middle. The hash browns looked homecut and home made, but were burnt on the edges, without being nice and crispy, and the potatoes were undercooked. which was disappointing. Eggs, though, were cooked perfectly, which were really good. The pancakes were the absolute star of the show, though. They were huge and very fluffy and the best pancakes I've seen anywhere, except maybe Du Pars in Los Angeles. What killed it is they give you the square plastic Sysco containers of syrup which are not very good. They give you beautiful fluffy butter, but no real maple syrup? Good syrup or at least syrup you could pour yourself would have upped their pancake game up considerably. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy tasted of flour, but was seasoned well. The biscuit was very tender. I couldn't eat but a bite. Looking at other tables, the omelettes did look good, I just hate cooked egg yolks. Over all, it was mid, but everyone was nice and there was plenty of food.
