I stopped here on my way up to Arcata because I needed a new half way point for this trip. I was not disappointed. I got a 4 inch Roast Beef and American Cheese on the default sourdough roll with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I added double meat which I do basically everywhere, every time now. It was solid. It's kinda silly that you have to pay $1 more for extra meat which comes out to a standard amount at most places. The total with chips, a fountain drink, and 15% tip was just under $15. This is the third time ordering a sandwich here and they just can't seem to ever get my order right. I even waited 25 minutes for two sandwiches, that is ridiculous to have only two employees handling a lunchtime rush. The wait is extraordinary. That includes pick up orders and door dash orders! The place was also dirty, tables had garbage on them, and the employees have really poor customer service skills,--here is no greeting, no thank you, no message that the wait is going to be long. I am not going back. I like the Sourdough in Santa Rosa and the sandwiches are normally really good, but this was my last purchase at Sourdough in Ukiah. read more

The downward turn that started with new ownership continues. Today, 11:30a on Sunday, I waited 20 minutes for two sandwiches. There were three other customers when we entered, two already eating. They turned out two other sandwiches besides ours during the 20 minutes. No explanations, no apology. Had to take them to go, though had planned to eat in. On ordering wanted the chicken salad, was told no, don't make those. We'd gone to this store weekly for 18 months, very happy. Then about 6 months ago the ownership changed. The only reason I am giving this place at two star review is because the food is alright . Due to the location proximity to my work, I have tried to give this place more of a chance than I typically would. So the first two times I went there, I overlooked the fact that every single person that worked there was either outright rude, or unfriendly. I didn't see one employee smile, or even greet a single customer in any way. If I were driving through a fast food place, this might not even cross my mind. But when you pay, they tell you that you can tip if you prefer. This just struck me as extremely odd for a few reasons. First, it was the first complete sentence they had said to me since entering the establishment. Second, not only do they save us to each and every customer in line as they pay, but it also says so on the card reader. Next, not only does it ask you on the card reader, if you would like to include a tip in addition to them telling you that you can simultaneously but then when you get your receipt to sign, there's also a section to give an additional tip on top of the tip they previously mentioned. As I waited for my food, I saw the same interaction with other customers. Keep in mind, this was an odd hour of the day so it's not like there was a lunch rush, or it was busy in anyway. I like grabbed my food, I said thank you and was met with silence. If I'm going to awkwardly be put on the spot to tip as I pick up my mediocre food, I would at least appreciate friendly service. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried the establishment three different times. Each of these times were different times of day, but none were during any kind of rush. Really good sandwiches (when they make them right) I've been in multiple times, can never get my order right and they take FOREVER to make one 4 inch sandwich. They have no urgency to get things done, I get it, it can be busy, but you should have staff working that can handle busy environments and be on their feet, quick to get things done. No hate or disrespect to the staff now, but when you say it's going to take 20 min to get my order complete and I walk in to get it and it's not even started yet, after waiting for 40 min to an HOUR! That's kind of insane. It makes me infuriated, especially when it happens every time I order food here. Also, if i need to be back at work and I'm waiting on my sandwich the whole time i have to take a lunch, it's absurd. Also the inside just seems dirty, food on the floor, barely wiped tables, the cleaning is just not kept up... I don't know what's going on, but they need to figure it out. The one in Santa Rosa is 10x better and can make a sandwich correct and in a timely manner. read more
