Came here on a Sunday night after the F1 race. We're from SoCal and spent the week in Lockhart/Martindale. After a long day of sun and racing, we found this gem. Wasn't too crowded but the waitress and staff were super inviting and welcoming. The interior vibe and old school bar made for a nice relaxing ambiance. Ordered some beers and cocktails, and service was excellent. Asked for pizza recommendations and she nailed it with the Smokehouse and Save the Brock. Excellent thin crust that still held firm and chewy, and the toppings were excellent and well paired. Perfect stop in a cool old TX downtown, and the people are so welcoming! Good eats! read more

Went here after a day of walking around the state park, and we were starving and pleasantly surprised. Granted, it did seem like they were maybe understaffed for the amount of people there on a Saturday afternoon and it did take a minute to get our orders placed, but our food came out fast. We order the cheesy bread, which was very cheesy, and the jalapeños were kicking- I did have to pull some off. Then we ordered the Mary Margaret, which had fresh basil chopped on top and we added pepperoni. It was delicious and big, with just enough crispiness to its thin crust. Everything tasted fresh and the location was nice since it was right off the square. We will definitely make this our go to spot when visiting Lockhart. read more

Not your average pizza. Service was a bit slow at first, but they were pretty busy. Quickly made up by the mouth watering taste of a hand tossed, nice meaty chunks, homemade Italian and fresh greens.... they won't disappoint. We're coming back. Wow! Great Pizza joint! I had the orchard salad with goat cheese and dried cranberries which was excellent! for the pizza, I had the old plum creek. It tasted great, was well cooked and good amount of toppings. I wish they had a pizza with a mixture of meat and veggies without building your own as it gets crazy expensive. I don't know if the other reviewers have ever eaten pizza anywhere else...but the construction and the grease on these things are an insult to food. Example. They put the tomato slices between the raw crust and thick cheese layer, causing the crust to turn to complete mush. My wife and I have been here several times, the food has always been good. The wait staff has always been very good and very friendly. My reason for only four stars is that I am a dark beer drinker and they really don't have my preferred drink which is very important when I'm out and need a perfect evening. A great place to stop by for lunch. I don't know if I was extremely hungry or if this place was that good but I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The pizza was crisp like I like it in the dough wasn't too salty. I also noticed that if you were looking for a quick lunch this is the best place because they serve you quickly and you can get out in in in less than 30 minutes. Important to remember considering a lot of the work around there is industrial like what I was there for. read more

I cannot tell you enough how much I LOVE Loop & Lil's Pizza. Service is great, food is excellent and the owners are the best. We got our son baptized and we wanted to go somewhere causal and laid back for lunch. There was 11 of us including the baby. We planned to go Saturday at lunch time so I sent them a message on Facebook to give them a heads up and see if they could reserve a place for us. I received a prompt response and it was no problem. They also suggested that we put a pre order in so that they can get our pizzas started since we were a large group. I made our reservation for between 12-12:30 pm. We got finished with the baptism way earlier than scheduled so we just headed over. They open right at 11 am and we figured if we had to wait it was no big deal. I believe Chris is the gentleman that was working the counter/bar area. He was so nice when we arrived. We all ordered beer and beverages. The owner Miranda came to greet us as well. I told her that we were early and it was no big deal. She had a note about our order and she said they would get it started right away. We started off with two salads - the Greek and Caesar. Both great, fresh and pretty ingredients, dressed perfectly. Since we were a large group we ordered a couple of different pizzas. All of them are made to order and cooked to perfection. There's a nice crunch and chew on the crust. Did I tell you that I LOVE this place? Save the Brock - This is basically you're meat lovers pizza with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Bacon and Ham. This was such a hit we ordered a second one of these. I always love it with the edges of pepperoni get crispy. There's lots of meat on this but it's not overwhelming. A perfect balance of all the meats. The Mary Margaret - This is your Margherita pizza. A classic, simple and oh so delicious pizza. One of my favorites when I'm not in the mood for all the pizza flavor combos. The Old Plum Creek - A great veggie option that has Mushrooms, Black Olives, Roma Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Red Onion, Spinach and Artichokes. All the ingredients are so fresh and this has a great variety. Smokehouse - Being that this is Lockhart home of all the BBQ that had to have a tribute to the town. This is a great version of a BBQ pizza but with little twist. This has Smoked Pork Sausage, Red Onions, Red Bell Pepper, Pickled Jalapenos and BBQ Sauce. The pickled jalapenos add a nice kick to this. I had not been here since they first open. They opened up the space a bit more and added more murals on the wall. The space is so nice, cozy and casual. In a town of BBQ this is a nice addition and switch up to San Marcos. The food never disappoints. You can really tell that the owners Richard and Miranda have put their heart into the place and really care about what they are doing. read more

Ok. So here's my take. I don't want to be an arrogant NYer but after 26 years in the city, I have an informed opinion on the topic of pizza. When you order a pie with extras in practically any pizzeria in the boros, there's a ton of extras on it. In my case tonight, I asked for spinach, mushroom, and red onion. Man, there was hardly any of that on there, I was really disappointed by that. Little bit here and there, but by no means covering the pie. To be fair they only charge I think a buck per item. So next time I'll know to ask for triple of everything. Tasted good tho, good sauce good crust. But just so weak with the toppings. read more

I adore this place! So glad I randomly found it while driving through Lockhart, definitely going to come back at some point. First, it's cute, it certainly doesn't look like much from the outside. It's in a strip building, but the windows are large for a clear view to the inside. It's interesting once you get in. The place is clean with a long counter and plenty of seating. There's like a stage area inside too? I'm not sure, and I didn't ask about it. Either way you're not prepared for the deliciousness you're going to get. Service was friendly and fast. And the price point is definitely affordable. The restaurant was almost full and more people were coming in when we ordered. Good sign. Our food came out so quickly, we were caught off guard. I was actually worried for a bit that maybe it wasn't our order. Thankfully it was; we were all hungry. The pizza is so good. According the other people I was with, so are the calzones. They pizza was not too greasy with a crisp crust. Plenty left over too. If I'm in the area again for any reason, I'll be making a stop here. read more

One of the cutest places I've eaten in Lockhart. Very modern and reasonably priced for their fantastic pizza. If you're coming in for something quick at lunch the pizza and a salad is your best bet. Fabulous homemade dressing with the salad. Sometimes they get a little slammed, but it's worth it. You won't find regular coke brands on their machine. They have all the natural sugar sodas. I've been quite pleased with their pepperoni, zedler mill, the Brock, and whatever the one with goat cheese and olive oil is...can't remember the name. I've also had their margarita pizza and loved it. All great and lovely friendly people. Bathroom is a one staller for both men and woman so sometimes you might have to wait to use the facilities. Have great friends who live in ATX, so we often roll down to Lockhart for some shopping and chill space. Its a great town! We were there a bit late when we found ourselves hungry for something other than Black's. We popped in Loop & Lil's and were not disappointed. We ordered: 1 custom pizza (chicken, mushrooms and spinach), 1 of the Mary Margaret, 1 greek salad, 1 chocolate pecan pie and 1 calzone. WE had enough to feed an army!
