Highly Recommended! I visited Looma Spa yesterday morning for a pedicure. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. A soothing clean environment welcomes you as you step through the door. The receptionist graciously greets you and promptly advises your service professional of your arrival. I had the pleasure of being attended to by Lisa who could not be sweeter. A relaxed state of being immediately overtakes you as you sit quietly back and have the professional commence the service. Unlike so many salons who feel they must use brutal force in massaging the clients' legs, here they do so by using gentle yet firm strokes. I had a massage with Hima for the 2nd time and it was great. She worked on my trouble areas in my upper back and neck and got out so many knots. I felt amazing when I left. Not a bad place for mani-pedi. Expensive. Just don't book 6 pm on Friday...hardly relaxing. Employees seem anxious to go home and in fact while I was left under nail dryer the whole kit and Kaboodle of them slid out the back door. I was left alone in the salon with nobody else except the cashier in the front of the building. read more

Firstly I would like to start off by saying I have had quite good experiences at Looma Spa. The reason I am giving up just review a one star is because of the worst experience that I've had today. My friend went for a massage and wanted to relieve some stress from her body. She came back to me and complaining like crazy. I can very much agree with her about what she said. She receive a massage from Jennifer and she said that Jennifer might be better off just doing the facials then the back and upper body massages. My friend told me that he fell as if Jennifer I fell asleep a few times and zoned out during the massage. Won't go back. When I was told the cost of a gel manicure was $40 I almost did not make the appointment but I thought perhaps there was something special about this place that would warrant me paying an extra $12 more than the typical place charges. I was extremely disappointed. The only thing I enjoyed was the vanilla tea however I was unable to drink most of it since I was getting a manicure. The manicurist scraped off my old polish with her own fingernails instead of a tool and she kept scraping my fingers. The UV light was dirty from other people's fingerprints. Thumbs down! read more

Very strange atmosphere. I went on a week day, mid afternoon and the entire place was empty. They made me make an appointment even though I was the only customer there. The entire staff was unfriendly and made it seem like I was an inconvenience. I got a basic manicure that turned out uneven. The nail artist rushed through and I was done in less than ten minutes. Their prices aren't cheap and I could have done a better job myself. I don't recommend this spa. read more

I was very disappointed with this place. I suppose I should've tailored my expectations before coming, as I expected a lot more. This is not a 'spa' by any means. There is no relaxing waiting area for clients about to get a massage & there are no locker rooms for belongings. It was not a relaxing or luxurious experience like you'd expect when going to a spa. My massage was one of the worst I've ever gotten. My masseuse was Jennifer, who was very nice, but did not impress me at all. First of all, I paid for a 90 min massage; she spent over 45 min on just my neck & shoulders and maybe only 30 min on my back. My arms & legs were rubbed haphazardly for less than 2 min each. She was not relaxing or gentle in any way - she practically manhandled me (and I'm not talking about pressure of the massage). She slammed things on the counters, she moved my neck and arms around like I was a rag doll, and put way too much pressure on my bones instead of my muscles. In addition, she was entirely inconsistent. Her techniques were different on each side and left me feeling lopsided. Then to top it all off, I'm 90% sure she literally FELL ASLEEP while massaging me. She was sitting in a stool as she was doing my neck & shoulders and more than once she suddenly stopped rubbing and I could feel her head slump over, then her body would jerk her awake and she'd start vigorously rubbing again, going far too fast, not realizing her pace was way off from 2 seconds ago... This cost me $130 and I left with my neck feeling more stiff than when I got there. I don't think I'll be coming back here again. read more

Looma Spa is amazing! I have jumped around nail salon to nail salon in the area and was very unhappy . All of the women at Looma Spa make you feel so welcome and provide a relaxing experience. The front desk ladies are great and always answer every question professionally. The nail technicians are extremely friendly and precise. I have been going to Stella the past couple of months and have never been happier with my nails. I will never get my nails done anywhere else, and can not wait to try out their spa services. I saw Baiju for the sugar Brazilian wax- She was amazing! So nice, made me feel very comfortable throughout the process, and kept a great conversation which helped distract me from the pain. I believe she is the only one here who does sugaring, but I was able to make an appointment easily online. Calming atmosphere and very nice people. Tried to get a pedicure and pick up some Naturopathica eye serum today. I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist and then it all fell to pieces. Right after saying hello to me the phone rang. She answered it but instead of asking them to hold and find out what I needed she proceeded to take what ended up being a very long call. "no, so and so is on vacation...i don't know I think she'll be back some time in June...but blah blah is here and she's very good...then never-ending comparison of calendars. All while not even looking up at me. Hello- I'm right here. Finally after about 3 minutes she looks up and whispers to me, "name?" Told her I didn't have an appointment and she went right back to her phone call. After 5 minutes I gave up and walked out. Seriously? Customer service 101. Put the call on hold and deal with the person right in front of you. Incredibly irritating. It's not like she was a kid either. She was old enough to know better and treat customers with respect. So no Looma for me and I'll be ordering my product online right from Naturopathica. read more

I went to my first appointment here today for a brow wax and manicure. Staff was friendly and I was seen on time. I was surprised while I waited in between services there wasn't much of a sitting area by the receptionist desk, so instead me and another customer just walked around looking at their displays of product. My nail tech, Mimi did a great job, but sadly only hours after getting home the polish smudged and chipped. As a first time customer I was a bit disappointed to learn after paying that this spa doesn't accept tips on cards, only cash. Since I rarely carry cash, I only had a few dollars to leave and would have loved to leave more. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to Looma Spa, having received high recommendations from a friend. To be clear - I walked in without an appointment and asked there was any time for a pedicure. I was set up with an appointment at 11 am, and it was clear I was a new customer because they had to set me up in the computer. There are 4 pedicure chairs - 2 across from each other and the other three customers were clearly receiving different amenities with their pedicures and I could see the technician doing my pedicure was going faster than the others around me. In short, the entire pedicure lasted a half hour. I do want to say that I think the pedicure I received was decent - not great, as I think there could have been better trimming around my nails, but it was okay. So afterwards I requested to speak with the manager about the fact that I was not offered anything other than the standard pedicure. There is no signage that explains that there are several choices when it comes to pedicures. Once I was able to speak with the manager, she consulted a brochure that was lying on a side table and explained that there were other choices and those were the pedicures the other customers were receiving and that I was probably not offered those because the receptionist was new. I very much did not want to get the new staff member in trouble, so I just commented that the new receptionist needed to be trained better so she could properly inform the customer as to the choices. However, what really bothers me about the fact that I took the time to communicate my overall displeasure with the experience is that the manager not once said I'm sorry that you were not made aware of the choices. She just seemed more concerned with defending why I was not told. I'm a firm believer that you should communicate if you have a good or bad experience, and I'm most interested in how it's handled. In this case, I don't think it was handled appropriately so that I was encouraged to revisit. That alone makes me think they don't really value attracting new customers - which is sad because you need new customers always. While I felt the pedicure itself was adequate, I will likely not be returning because of the overall experience. read more

Was in need of a good massage and was hoping for the best when I tried Looma Spa. I found it online and read reviews. I was not disappointed. It is located off Route 10 between the Petco and the Planet Fitness. Upon entering it was very pleasant, staff was wonderful. Barbara was my massage therapist and she was beyond everything I expected. The pricing was reasonable and they offered a membership similar to those of Massage Envy and Hand and Stone. The membership was a little pricey but if you are a regular massage client, it would be well worth the investment. Can't wait to go back. read more

I have always had a stellar experience at Looms Spa. The customer service is top notch and all of the estheticians and nail technicians are highly-skilled and professional. I have to say though Baiju is absolutely phenomenal and in a class of her own. I have never had a better facial. My skin has never looked better. She also has a very healing touch and demeanor. I always feel relaxed and refreshed with a healthy glow when I leave. I recommend her to everyone I speak to about facial services and always speak highly of Looma Spa in general. Every member of the staff from the receptionists, the nail technicians, the spa personnel and the owner is accommodating and lovely. I have been going to Looma for years. Most recently, I have been seeing Hima every few months for massages. She has been amazing. The last two massages I have received, I have been less than pleased with. Although she is an amazing massage therapist, it seems as if she is texting during my massage. (Only using one hand for several minutes and then putting something down on the bed and continuing). Last time, it was for a good portion of the hour I had booked. I haven't been back because of it, but I decided to try again with a shorter massage. It happened again. For the money I am paying, I shouldn't have to be concerned that I'm not being paid attention to or something is more important. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back. read more

Soothing/relaxing atmosphere and the staff is very friendly and welcoming! As I was picking out a color my manicurist came over to help me. I told her I wanted something neutral and she immediately picked out a color that was exactly what I was looking for. The manicure was very thorough, probably the best gel manicure I've ever gotten! I have had two massages here. First one was good until about an hour after I left. She hit a nerve in my back and I couldn't move for three days. I received a gift card after that so I tried again. This time it was a different women at my request and I told her of this previous problem. She was great. So this is a hit or miss place. Also a bit pricey for what it is. I have to find another place to get my nails done. The first couple of times I went, when they were new, everything was great. The last few times, not so much. I once had a older lady, I guess she and English were not on speaking terms. When she wanted me to move, I didn't quite understand what she wanted, she eventually gave me a couple of punches on the leg. Apparently, that means, move. Then I had Angela, she's wonderful, friendly and gentle. This time I asked for a particular lady, I got a lady named Sara. I said "hello"...crickets. She never said another word to me. I'm not trying to have any in depth conversation, but, it's awkward if your pedicure is silent. I tried to ask some questions, I guess she wasn't in the mood. I didn't get the lady I wanted, she was there not with a client so I don't know why I didn't get her. No explanation was forthcoming. This place is hit or miss. I think I'll miss it from now on, there are plenty of "spas" in New Jersey. Pass this one up. read more
