I let them know what I was looking for and my nail stylist provided great insight and the perfect suggestion. The longer version of the story is that I go to Carla to get my monthly acrylics and she is lovely. I was there once and Jim, hairdresser and owner, said he could do what I wanted with my hair which was a very heavy blonde balayage. I came in to him and at first I was impressed because he said I had curly hair (I have extremely wavy natural hair but I wear it straight) and that he was an expert with curly hair. He recommended to give me layers but I was very hesitant and only allowed him to do a few. Well, they turned out HORRIBLE. After he attempted to color my hair and it went so wrong. For some reason he died my hair basically gray no hint of blonde in sight and gave me horrible color lines (see photos). Unless you have really curly kinky hair do not trust him when he says he will give you layers. They will only look awful. The best part of the story? I booked a emergency color correction at a different salon because of this and turns out she had a previous client that also got botched by Jim! Turns out she recognized the awful layers he gave me and said he gave someone else the same haircut and they hated it. Please take your money elsewhere and do not trust this guy with your hair...

Basically this tells me that either this place always over books and does this often or they took a walk in when they shouldn't have and not the people with appointments don't get why they wanted. They still tipped because they are nice but I would have put 0% do better and give priority to those that have appointments and not take walk in to cut in with their time. if you're booked throughout the day with appointments then don't take walk in.

Best decision! I walked in with no appointment, midday on a Saturday and stated that we "just need a trim and polish for my daughter's toes" since she had been snubbed at the last place just minutes before where I had mine done (crappy). She happily said she'd be with us in 5 minutes... And she WAS! She took great care and precision in trimming and polishing my very young daughter's toes. She is quick but careful and has an eye for every detail. I couldn't have been more thrilled! She said that I didn't need to pay her for such a tiny job, but I insisted and left her with cash and many many many thanks to her for her kindness and professionalism, along with her quality of work! She really went above and beyond, leaving me and my daughter happy, and saving our mommy/daughter day! The facility was clean and simple, with all the (new&seasonal too) OPI colors, and it seemed to have great ventilation since the smell wasn't overpowering, as I've experienced in other nail salons. I don't care if the decor and facility aren't super fancy and professionally designed, because the cleanliness and level of service provided at Happy nails puts other places to shame. My daughter is really happy and has been showing her perfectly painted and sparkly toes to everyone all day long, so they definitely earned themselves a return customer! Since my hair was left unfinished, I booked a color correction listed as $180, but she charged me again for everything, including another trim. After $900 spent, my hair was still uneven, patchy, and had visible red chunks and orange roots, yet she refused to fix my roots. When I confronted her about the total price, she suddenly claimed she charges $100/hr, which was never disclosed upfront. I have texts proving her original quote. She also blocked out her availability when I tried to book a fix, forcing me to schedule under a fake trim appointment just to be seen. Her mother is the owner and completely dismissed and ignored me. No one apologized. I would never go here again let alone book with Brynn.
