To be clear... I think alarm systems and alarm service contracts are one of the great scams out…read morethere. That said, I needed some work done on an older, not-in-a-service-contract system, to pass the Cambridge Fire Inspector's inspection. I was told by the big alarm companies out there that I would need to invest in a new system to get the house ready for the inspection. The price the big companies quoted? Well each detector would be 4x the cost of what I could get it for retail, PLUS they would charge me $500/hour. Not to mention, they are so behind schedule that it would take weeks to schedule the work. That would have thrown off the closing date of my house sale. So I asked my electrician if he had any suggestions on how to avoid this scam, and he gave me Mark at Empire Alarm's phone number. Mark took my call on the first ring, he made calls to do additional research, created a work around to satisfy the inspector, and had finished the job two days after I first called him. What more can I say? Avoid the big companies with those fancy vans.

Folks, you would be hard pressed to find a security system installer as good as Greg at Sprint…read moreSecurity. Attention to detail, knowledge, and perfect execution along with very fair pricing makes him a rarity in the alarm business. I have to say, he even found a serious error in our system, where the smoke detectors were not linked so an alarm on one floor did not sound on other floors. This was after an "inspection" was performed and passed as part of the closing process. Of course, Greg spotted this and fixed it, and who knows, may have possibly saved our lives if we had a fire event. Just a fabulous service and experience. Thanks Greg!

When he and his associate Rimas came by to do the install, it was a way bigger job than any of us had expected, since our previous provider had left things a mess. It took literally about twice as long as expected, and was a very demanding job. They never complained once, and didn't charge us extra. They got us up and running in no time, at a very fair price. Sprint is the best, we're so happy to be working with them!

I called Ray from City Locksmith and expected to wait cause it's Sunday. However, he said he said he would be out in 30 minutes which I doubted it and I'm fact he arrived in 30 mins. He not only fixed it but also saw the paint on the whole side of the door was scraped. Ray the locksmith also found a nail at the side of the door that was blocking the closing of the door. With my permission, Ray also removed the nail and shaved the top of the door. Additionally, he noticed the latch plate on the side of the door that was sticking out and he fixed that by receding and now my door can also be closed with just 1 finger. To say the least, I'm extremely happy with ChatGPT and Ray who came out to West Roxbury and fixed my door to my satisfaction at a reasonable price.

While I will have to replace the lock, there really weren't any options. it was an older lock and the paperwork - if I even saved it, had long since disappeared. I highly recommend this operation. What began as a positive relationship eventually turned into repeated billing issues, including double charges and unexplained fees that required me to cancel autopay and change my card information. A major concern for future customers: Alarm New England locks their Honeywell Lyric panels with installer codes that they do not provide to the customer, even after the contract is fulfilled and the equipment is fully paid for. When I asked for the installer code, I was told I "did not have access" to it. This effectively prevents you from using your own hardware with another provider. Only after I sent a certified termination letter did the company suddenly reach out, offering to reset the code, but only if I powered the old panel back on, which I had already replaced. Service quality also declined over the years. One simple sensor installation took nearly an entire day, and phone hold times were often 20 minutes or more. I was also quoted an extremely high price for a basic battery replacement, which came with pressure to sign a new multi‑year contract. I have since switched to a local company that provides full access to my system, transparent pricing, and no long‑term contracts. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to research alternatives before committing to Alarm New England.
