Switched to rand handy about 10 months ago and really liked their service and the company staff…read moreseemed great to deal with. However, we have 4 small children under 7 and a 1 year old born premature. for three months we dealt with one emergency after another from covid 19 having to shelter in place, going to take covid tests, it seemed each one of our kids was sick after the other and then finding out I was stuck in Maine for 15 days when going for work before I could return to Massachusetts and again stuck at a hotel before being able to go home or risk everyone having to quarantine In the midst of it we paid the oil bill late after always paying complete oversight. Rand handy called a few weeks later and said I didnt pay it and being at work unable to look it up that moment and send the information I simply paid again assuming I would get a credit toward the next delivery once straightened out. Rand handy said nothing to me that there was an issue and I said I would follow up with the receipt from the previous payment when I had a spare moment to have the account credited or learn what happened. Without a single warning or word they just didnt deliver oil again. Caught by surprised when I got a call we ran out and the house was cold I called rand handy to let them know we ran out and they had not delivered. Of course it happens when its 17 degrees out. For multiple days they claimed they were coming until I called again looking for what was going on and the secretary told me she was instructed not to deliver because we had paid the last payment late. no warning, no notice, they just let us run out and refused to deliver when it was 17 degrees and I was out of state again. We had no balance and one 280 payment late as a result of this mess with the pandemic. I requested they charge my card and fill the tank so we could have sometime to find a new company and they refused leaving us with no oil over a single late payment. Once I return in a few days I will have to look to get credited back for the double payment I have never written a review in my life but this was so egregious to do to people I had to especially with 4 small children and especially offering to pay right then and there. Totally uncalled for, I take responsibility for the single late payment but I got it done and apologized but to just fail to deliver with no warning even when offering to pay right there was just wrong. The pendemic has caused a mess for people and a reminder call may have been nice than just a no show and cut off in the freezing weather.

I do not recommend Michael Roman based on my experience…read more Last summer, I contacted him to diagnose and replace the AC in one of my rental units. He responded quickly and spent several hours diagnosing the problem, charging me $675. Afterward, he told me the AC was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. When he returned to install the new unit, he installed a different brand than the one he had originally promised and charged me $850. He also persuaded me to install an AC with a heat pump, even though I did not need that feature. Since I was not available at the property at the time, I felt I had little choice. To make matters worse, he left without testing the new AC. Later, my tenant informed me that it was not working. I had to contact him again, and he installed a temporary AC unit that had a very strong, unpleasant smell. It took a third visit before he finally installed a standard AC that worked properly. Even now, I have not received the receipt he promised, the owner's manual, or any warranty documentation for the unit. The entire process lacked transparency and caused unnecessary delays and frustration. In the end, this AC replacement cost me nearly $2000, and I was left without the documentation I should have received. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Michael Roman.

We called our oil company, of which we had been a customer for two years, and not only did they not respond to our emergency in an urgent manner but sent out a service person who clearly had no clue about how to fix a furnace! He left after fifteen minutes saying he couldn't do anything and without any explanation. We were desperate and our neighbor recommended Felix and his team to us. Lifesavers and true, honest, caring people who not only came out at soonest availability but clearly were experts in their profession. Felix assessed our situation, proposed options, and was able to explain to us what we were dealing with in a way that we could understand to make an informed decision. They did this for people who were not current customers and treated us like we were family. They went above and beyond getting our system fixed and running in less than a day. Needless to say we are customers for life. Do not look anywhere else. City Fuel should be your go-to for oil service and supply forever forward.
