a view of the city lights from the top of a mountain

The Aerial Tram ride is great. A 2.5 something miles up the mountain. You can hike starting at the bottom or the top. Depending on the time of year you'll see and will be able to play in snow. There is so much parking available at the bottom, but be sure you pay for your parking ahead of time. The Lookout Lounge is a bar at the top along with a restaurant and another two smaller places for food. The restaurant is only open for lunch so we got stuck with the smaller food place and it wasn't that good at all. The bartender was nice and the drinks were good though, but left there starving.

Great spot to enjoy spectacular views while having a drink. Lookout Lounge is located inside the mountain station of Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. As soon as you depart the tram, Lookout Lounge is right around the corner on the same level as the restaurants. They have a nice selection of cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers. If you are not able to get a seat at the bar, there are nearby tables you can sit at with your drink. Hours are 11:00 am - 8:30 pm daily. It was nice to stop here for a beverage after doing a hike in nearby San Jacinto State Park.

Located on the second floor once you enter at the top of the mountain, the lounge offers a variety of spirits, as well as beers both on the tap and in the fridge. The prices are LA prices, averaging $10 a drink. Inside there's plenty of seating with nice views.

Second time here, this time brought some family from the UK. Nice ride on the gondola up as it wasn't to bumpy. First thing first, stop off at the bar for a cold pint of beer. This time, service was way better than the first. The bartender was actually there, 2 of them. Last time, we had to flag someone down just to get something to drink. We ordered 2 pint of beer and took it out to the lookout point. The view was amazing, weather was great. Just sitting there and enjoying the view of the desert was spectacular. It's amazing what you can see from a top. There's also a restaurant inside that has Ana amazing view itself. That's more of an intimate sit down place. As also, a cafeteria style restaurant that you order and take your food to any seating that's available inside or outside. Haven't had any of the food so no comment on that. As for the overall rating of the place. Highly recommend venturing up the gondola to the top for an amazing day of scenery, hiking, lounging or whatever floats your boat. There's hiking available year round. Put on some comfy shoes and enjoy the day.

At the Lookout Lounge, you will definitely get a breathtaking view of the mountains. You are literally above the clouds! There is really no service off the bar seats. We were sitting in our seats for over 15 minutes without any service. We ended up just walking up to the bar order. The bartender, I think Vanessa was her name or the blonde bartender, was not very nice. When my boyfriend was trying to order, she didn't even give him attention. He literally had to keep talking out loud just to put in an order. When we ordered a hot chocolate, she said we could order that else where, but she did have some. We ended up ordering the alcoholic hot chocolate because she wouldn't give it otherwise. We also ordered the bread pudding which was actually good. The alcoholic hot chocolate was gross, because it was watery and not really hot. I ended up not finishing it.

Leigh Anna was our bartender and she was so wonderful. We ordered a Babes Blackfin Lager ($9.75) and a Mango Rita($15.00). Both were fantastic. The Mango Rita reminded me of my favorite chili mango candies. If you head up on the tram definitely stop and get a drink and enjoy the view for a few before heading back down.

My wife and I are season pass holders for the tram, and as much as we love hiking (really -- we got snow shoes last year so we could come up here in the winter), this place is always the highlight of our excursion. While there is nothing quite like unwinding with a gin & tonic after a 4-mile stroll through the woods, the head guy here, Frank, makes the experience even better. We came up here for the Christmas tree lighting a couple of days ago, and the moment they flipped the switch on the tree, we ran inside to the Lookout Lounge to make sure we secured our spots at the bar. Frank made the wife a special Irish Coffee (which she loved), while I got my standby gin/tonic. We also shared an avocado/bacon burger, which was delicious, and came with a new style of fries they have come up with, which can best be described as "curly wedges." We were both glad they didn't put more of those potatoes on the plate, because we would have devoured them if they had. In a place that is filled with tourists, it is really, really nice to have the barkeep recognize you, and remember your beverage of choice. I am made to feel like a VIP here.

This is a lounge bar area up the stairs. They have your average drinks. Lots of wood all around. The weather is a bit cooler up here which was nice.

The drinks were strong and well-made, and even though the place was packed, our waitress stayed attentive and checked in with us consistently. It's clear they specialize in more elaborate cocktails, so a bit of a wait is understandable. The ambiance is also a highlight--dark, intimate, and really leans into the tiki vibe. **Night two** was the complete opposite. We accidentally mixed up our reservation time, but since the place was nearly empty, we were seated right away, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We had a different waitress, and despite being one of only a few parties there when we arrived, we waited **45 minutes** without seeing our drinks--while other groups seated after us were already being served (and even getting second rounds). We eventually had to flag down our waitress, who had hardly checked on us at all. When we asked about the delay, she said they were "very busy,". After mentioning how long we'd been waiting, there wasn't any real apology--just visible annoyance. She told us our drinks were "up next," but after another 20 minutes passed with nothing, we decided to leave after over an hour of waiting. It was disappointing, especially after such a positive first experience. A simple apology or some communication would have gone a long way. Sadly, the inconsistency makes it hard to know which version of this place you're going to get.

The two-top table near the bar, with mustard-fabric lounge chairs on low spindled "moon-lander" inspired supports seem to have jumped right out of a 60's time machine, matching the retro vibe in the whole place. Our server was delightful, regaling us with her informative descriptions of her favorite dishes... it's fabulous when a server knows the menu so well that they can describe not only what's in the dish, but why it's so good. Cocktails were an obvious strength, and after my first choice, the pear-inspired Akita was regrettably "out of stock" (she informed us that they had run out of the fresh pear syrup they make by hand each day), I was steered to the It's Giving Julius. This boozy take on the classic Orange Julius, with a mouth-watering egg-white-textured foam floating on rum-infused a citrus blast. For Gayle, it was a moment to savor the non-alcoholic "Clutch Your Pearls," complete with boba pearls atop an icy lime-green concoction. The entire restaurant is themed on "American comfort food with an Asian twist." And let me say, they nailed it in every aspect. My bowl of Tteokbokk was a brilliant spin on a classic Rigatoni bowl, subbing Korean rice cakes for pasta and gochujang spiked tomato sauce for marinara, but keeping the rich parmesan/mozzerella cheese. At the server's suggestion, I topped it with fried pork belly, well executed and delicious, the entire bowl was light with an arrabiatta-like kick. My wife had the Garlic Noodles... imagine a creamy bowl of chicken noodle casserole straight out of the 60's, but without a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken in sight. Velvety sauce glazed perfectly cooked Ramen noodles with vegetables and chicken... took her right back to her mother's kitchen where the same dish was the perfect remedy for the flu - comforting and scrumptuous without being too heavy. And finally having not overstuffed ourselves on this trip, we opted for the "poor life choice" of dessert. And after asking for the "simple plate of milk and cookies," the server corrected me and stated - rightly so - that this was anything but simple. Three stuffed cookies: Red Velvet with cheesecake cream, S'mores with marshmellow, and cinnamon filled Churro - nuggets from Heaven's bakery, with a glass of cold milk. We managed to finish it and roll on out full of some of the best food we've had this year. The only minor hiccup was when trying to buy merch on our way out, the front stand didn't have a terminal to let us pay, so we had to seek out a bartender to run our credit card (and they were super busy). A minor complaint in the grand scheme... get those hosts a card reader! Note: We didn't see a single dog in the place... but they clearly are welcome to 4-legged clientele. Such a fun spot.

I would say that my dish was pretty good (smashburger with fries), but my other friends (who happen to be Pinay) who ordered things like the Spam grilled cheese sandwich, the longanisa hash, and the Manila bowl - which were all disappointing. The matcha latte was subpar and we wish we could've tried the oversized cinnamon roll with Ube cream cheese and matcha powder, but they're fresh baked and once they're gone - they're gone! I would say that this is a cute brunch spot for the aesthetic and vibes, but not the best for Asian fusion brunch.

Checked in with the hostess which we mentioned that we just wanted a drink and if we could sit along the hi top counter along the front. Her reaction was quite cute and sweet and seated us there. I believe our waitress Brenda or Brandee (I could be wrong). The sweetest and friendliest. We happened to make it right before happy hour was over from 3-5. The menu was quite small both for the main and happy hour. Main consist of some starters, a handful of entrees and some desserts. HH had some drinks special, a couple dollars off drinks and some dollars off shareable plates. We just had one of the beer on tap which was on happy hour for 6.00. Also one of the flatbread pizza which came up to 12.00 on happy hour. A recommendation from the waitress which was great. It didn't take long for drinks to arrive and then the food right after. Flatbread was quite nice and cheesy. A good combination for a meal. We were having dinner later so something lite to share was great. During the time we were there, the live entertainment was setting up with live music. A nice treat to have while dining. The location is excellent. Right in the heart of town and on the main strip where people watching is amazing. There's a full bar right in the middle so that was nice.
