We had been ordering online via the Gocery app. Super easy to use and we use it like a grocery shopping list. In the beginning of the pandemic, you didn't need to tip for delivery. Customer service is wonderful as well. If Centra doesn't have certain items, they might call and ask if you'd like a refund or exchange for another. The rep mentioned that it's cheaper to order through their website and delivery is free (over $99). Tipping wasn't necessary either. I've only had issues once out of the numerous we've ordered. They had forgotten something and ended up re-delivering an item to me. Everything was always fresh. We especially love their salmon filets. I did notice sometimes we had due dates that were a bit close to expiry though (yogurt, milk). But if you have an extra freezer it probably won't matter. We'll be getting our groceries here for a long while.

It's not just the products, it's also the customer service in my opinion. Cashiers are happy and will actually smile at you when checking out. Parking situation is a tad annoying since it's at First Markham Place, and it's always busy here. Overall, worth the hectic parking lot and the amount of people. It's the best Asian supermarket in Markham, hands down!

When the store is busy and there are lots of people, nobody does stuff like that. So our options are; deal with horrible parking lot on the weekends or deal with power tripping low intelligence security guards during the week. One time, he asked me to go in while my son would wait at the door. What?!? What kind of policy is that? I'm sure there's no such policy but the man didn't understand the instructions.

I decided to drop by one Saturday. I parked in the lot. It was odd that there was a concrete island that separated a single row of spots on one side and a ton of spots that you'd expect on the other. It was different. I was just pleased to park somewhere. I love this store. It's nicely organized. The fruits and vegetables section looks inviting and healthy. I particularly liked the natural source section. It has a ton of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan food options. I don't know much about cauliflower pizza, but I was happy with the varieties available. This place has empanadas! I love them so much. Yum! You can grab a number of take-and-eat items if you are either hungry and need nourishment fast, or want to bring something for lunch to work the following day and not make your meal. I also enjoyed all the pepperoni products from Noah Martin in St. Jacobs. I bought a pepperoni stick to try out and chomp on as I drove home. It was delicious. I need to come back and get more. Customer service was friendly. I didn't have to wait. I put my items on the conveyor belt, paid, and left with my groceries. Don't forget to swipe your Air Miles card here. The cashier let me know how much I could redeem, which was nice. Prices seem about the same as what you'd expect at Longo's. Some items are even cheaper. The new Sobeys 'extra' concept is a total revamp, with a focus on specialty items and giving each item or genre of food on your grocery list it's own spot in the sun. This ain't your florescent lit-aisle after aisle- "discount on fish fingers in aisle 3"- grocery store anymore, it's a living breathing market filled with warm colours, soft lighting, expert displays and specialty EVERYTHING! Every aspect of the store has a tactile market feel that brings you in, gets you interacting with the store, it's shelves, displays and various specialty counters. Like the market your grandparents would have gone to, you'd interact and inspect each item before you purchase it. It's no different here. Except, Sobeys wants you to interact with the store itself. For example, sectioning off the dairy items into individual glass door-ed refrigerators which look slick and well polished - asking to be opened so you can grab your pick from behind it. The flow of the store begs to be shopped, there is no more walking up and down aisles, in Sobeys 'extra' you're led to the next item on your list in a natural flow as you would at a Sunday farmers market. Why have one counter for all deli when you can break it down into specialty counters, one for cheese and gourmet crackers, and one for deli meats. You can say goodbye to Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds in stores because at S.e. they're roasting their own beans in store in front of your eyes before they make you your cup of coffee! Amazing! I also eluded earlier that Jamie Oliver has his stamp all over this place as Sobeys new spokesperson. This year I received a text notice to say my plants were being shipped and to look out for them! This is why you need to order a minimum number of plants. When I had a large yard I would get dizzy trying to keep my order under $150. This year for my balcony I ordered the kitchen herb garden. Thirteen plants ( I think) for an unbeatable price. I have ordered essential oils for my laundry spritz water and they always arrive safe and sound. My only wish is that they would print a few uses on the back of the plant ID plastic identifiers, or on the invoice. This is the best nursery ever and the plants are clean, no little travellers! We still come back every so often as they still offer fair prices without corporate markup. Walking in, the familiar arrangement is in place with produce section in front right with a good variety of Asian vegetables & fruits. This is followed by packaged meats, butcher counter, frozen products, seafood section in the back with nowadays standard prices. The dairy, bakery, sushi and hot food sections round out the left side with some weekly specials. Between this is the usual set of narrow Asian grocery aisles. This isn't the most polished or busy supermarket but browsing here is pleasant with the relative calm that you don't always feel at congested places. From hot food specials, we tried their stir-fry eggplant ($5.98), sweet & sour fish fillet ($9.98) and Cantonese chow mein ($4.98) in good takeout portions. The eggplant and fish were both flavourful while the noodles tasted less authentic. There's a small seating area upfront. Skip it or hit it? When we're occasionally in the area, it's our preferred grocer for old times sake.

So it is only fitting that the first review I write in 2022 is on a grocery store. Ranch Fresh is good - the store is spacious, brightly lit, clean, well organized, well ventilated, cheerfully decorated. The fresh meat is really fresh. Just like other Asian supermarkets, most fresh meat items are sold by weight behind a butcher counter. There is some prepackaged meat if you prefer to grab and go. There is a big produce section with great varieties. Pricing is higher than its sibling store Field Fresh (Scarborough) and just about the same as Full Fresh (Markham). I cannot comment on services, because I didn't require any assistance. There aren't many Asian grocery stores in Newmarket. I trust Ranch Fresh is a good addition to the neighbourhood, providing diversity, variety and convenience.
