I'm so thankful I found Diane, she has challenged me, made me stronger and I never get bored her workouts, they are always different! You are in a small group setting but Diane modifies each persons weight amount, intensity or a modified version for any injury you are rehabbing. She watches everyone intently corrects form, or adds weight to push you if she sees you are ready. Once I got pregnant she completely modified a version of the group workout for me each session. She ensures I am avoiding movements that are dangerous, that I wear a heart rate monitor to watch my HR and she also adds in things that will help prep me for delivery. I have been able to keep working out into 3rd trimester and hope she can keep me getting healthy movement in as long as possible!

I am of a particular age where ppl say " oh you cant lose weight nor get fit". I changed food habits completely = to a " clean food plan". The next decision changed my life completely. I found Diane Carpenter's DC Fitness! My journey will continue, as I get stronger and healthier day by day. Diane is a dedicated trainer, who tailors the fitness routine- to the needs and ability of her clients. She is no nonsense hands-on trainer; demonstrating then observing and correcting as the workout progresses. Every session is a new experience but is always balanced with both cardio and resistance. No workout is the same-old-thing. She has state of the art fitness machines combined with many other fitness tools : bands, dumbells, bosu, weight balls, TRX, blocks.... and more. At DC Fitness you dont waste time walking a tredmill; you dig right in and do reps and sets and move from routine to routine. I love this place and the vibe. I love my personal challenges. I love my progress. I am including 2 pictures. One is at the start of my fitness journey and the other is me as I am now. And one more thing: everyone that works out here is welcoming and courteous. I think when you like yourself, you become a nicer person. Thanks to Diane, I feel my self worth improving.

"It never gets easier -- you just get stronger."…read more I love how this adage can apply to not only lagree but life in general. With that said, I came across Stronger on a Yelp search late one night as I was suffering from insomnia and thinking about going from zero (i.e., couch potato) to... a number greater than zero. I had heard about lagree from a friend a while ago, and she seemed to really enjoy it, so I thought it'd be worth checking out. The intro deal (2 classes within a week for $20) was reasonable, so I scheduled my first class ASAP. As someone who is relatively shy, especially in gym-related environments, I showed up to class feeling incredibly nervous. Fortunately, the instructor (Jamie) was super sweet and welcoming, and she made me feel at ease. When class started, we warmed up with a plank, and I fully appreciated how physically unfit I was, as I started to immediately sweat, breathe heavily, and tremble. While transitioning into other moves, I struggled so hard, but Jamie was always patient and encouraging. She'd often say words of affirmation in a truly genuine way about how we're strong and able to get through each exercise ("Yes, you can!"). At one point, she also said, "You're allowed to take up space," which is such an important and powerful reminder, no matter the context. I especially appreciated how she had no problem being hands-on when correcting my form even though I was a sweaty mess (and she did this for everyone, too). At other fitness studios, the instructors are a bit squeamish about touching people to correct them (and I don't blame them), but that's not the case at Stronger. Class was over before I knew it, and I was absolutely exhausted and dripping in sweat (at one point, it probably looked like I was crying from all the sweat pouring from my forehead like that Jordan Peele GIF). I remember feeling a bit disappointed in myself for not being able to properly keep up and straight-up pausing sometimes to catch my breath. But Jamie and the other members were very kind and reassured me that I did a great job, especially as a first-timer. At my second class (also with Jamie), I struggled again and was overly apologetic, but Jamie was supportive and gracious, saying, "As women, we apologize a lot for every little thing, but we don't have to do that." She also reminded me to breathe throughout class, which clued me into my bad habit of holding my breath when I'm doing something challenging. That gentle nudge helped me stay more present in my body, and I started noticing how often I tense up without realizing it. And I've also taken a class with Maggie, who's so knowledgeable and upbeat. She somehow makes even the toughest moves feel fun. At Stronger, there are people of all ages and fitness levels just doing their thing, and that makes it way less intimidating. Some folks are lifting heavy, others are modifying moves, and it's all good. Bottom line: Stronger and its community definitely live up to the name!

My Temple of Strength !!!!! This is Khushi Prahlladh…read morebulchandani from India and we trained at KILO for a month in June 2017. Ah ... even thinking about it gives me ... nostalgia ... I already wana go back !!!!! Well keeping my excitement aside ... lets get to what is this place and why would I recommend it so strongly !!! If your looking for STRENGTH , If your looking for technique , If your looking for years of experiential knowledge , then here it is ... Alex , Stephan and Kelsey are one hell of a trio!!! I did the prime eight classes for a month . I personally have been training for 2 years and love strength . But I am always looking for that little zing in my training . I always knew I was missing something and there it was ... these guys taught me , guided me and showed me just what I was missing in my training ... I am sure each of us ... find certain lifts are our very favourites and certain lifts are just like " really do I have to do this " and I thought this was because of personal preference , but not really ... its how they say in school your favourite subject is the one whose teacher is excellent ... who teaches you well . It's like I disliked barbel back squat the BIG. Lift for so many years because my back would hurt every time I would finish my training ... and so I would stick to only front squats most of the time . I waited for my front squat days . After I reached KILO there it was .. they guided me with form , with tempo , with the rest periods and boom !!! 10 pounds more than I ever lifted ( I weigh 110 pounds and now I lift 110 pounds) with no back pain !!!!!!!!!! Or discomfort !!! I slowly began to LOVE BARBELL BACK SQUAT ! The same thing with so many exercises ; pull ups , lat pull downs , my traps would be injured practically every 3rd week of my training ... now I am more confident with these as well ... I can do 2 full pull ups !!! Which for me is a huge thrill !!! At KILO ; They focus on the SCIENCE OF TRAINING . It's not a number game ...its not how much do I lift .. It's did I feel the MUscle in every REP... Which made such a difference. Even if one of my reps were not ok in terms of tempo or form ... Alex and Stephane would make me stop immediately , drop the weight or change the exercise ... . THERE ARE NO CHEAT CURLS ! That's when you find the difference when you train with them .. the soreness is so much more !! And that too at the right places hehehe ;) ( what I mean is your quads are busted the next morning but your back feels great ) Now that's what you call a session ! Thank you guys !!! Another element which was my biggest take back was the humbleness.Stephane and Alex have so many years of experience but little or no airs about being trainers ; they are your friends ... they are your family and they are ready to share all the knowledge they have ; there is no holding back of knowledge about anything concerning fitness or nutrition. Attitude towards training .. I don't know if any of you guys out there have sensed aggression as the base attitude in training ; that's the attitude I always have seen and myself brought to the gym like I am here to lift more ; and kill it .while at KILO the attitude is very focussed ; very tempo driven and very concentrated; there is not anger ... there is FEELING ALIVE after every set ; every rep !! Which was such a good take back .... Lastly talking about the paraphernalia stuff like price of training ; GOD they are priceless ; so 500$ for a month is really value for money . Hygiene of the place ; excellently CLEAN !!! Whether it's the floor , the restrooms or the equipment .. eye for detail . All credits to Kelsey ; she is the admin ; on her toes always there !!! Equipment : is fabulous all ATLANTIS . Technology: They have a fabulous apps to log in for your sessions ; to track your attendance . Payments etc. There is no compromise !!! In anyway !!!! So guys ; if you want strength ! If you want to train hard and train smart !!! THIS IS IT !
