I absolutely love my trainer Rob! Being an athlete most of my life, I was used to being very active on a daily basis. However, as I age and work consumes my life, I have a hard time making it into the gym. Luckily, I have Rob :) not only is he very flexible and works around my schedule to make sure I get in, he is constantly pushing me to my limits despite my whining. He knows what I am capable of and makes sure every workout is not only challenging but diverse. I leave every time hating him lol but it really is all worth it. Trust me! This is my kind of gym! It has all the amenities needed for a great training session. It has, not only awesome cardio & weight equipment, plus all the cool toys for an overall effective workout. There's also a group fitness room, towels, changing rooms & locker area. I train here with Sean Soto (FB Zumba Sean Training), my personal trainer who has helped me shed a total of 73 lbs to date. I was introduced to this gym via my trainer, Vaughn Crawford, that's where he trains. I'd driven by here so many times and thought It was a weight loss "clinic". To my surprise this place is great. I reached out to the owner Brad via Yelp and was surprised at how quickly he responded. He was excited to help me find a personal trainer who was right for me, and I am currently training twice a week with Lisa. Lisa is wonderful -- she's very supportive and encouraging, and challenges me to do my best each session. I appreciate how focused she is with her clients and takes time to make sure I'm breathing correctly and am holding the correct position. I met AJ this morning and she's super friendly! I hope to take some of her yoga classes once my fitness level has improved. The people here are genuinely friendly and that makes me feel comfortable and happy to come back. I attended Evolve gym about 3 yrs ago and trained with Remi for 1.5 yrs and he brought out the best in me making me feel strong and improving my stamina etc. Best investment I ever made. I relocated for school and recently graduated and decided to return because Thats how much I missed this specific environment. The staff is professional all the time and the establishment truly feels like family. Everyone tends to know one another and gets greated as if you're in someone's home. Been doing the Monday/Wednesday 8pm boot camp for the last 3months. It kicks your butt but a fun workout. Men and women of all ages do this class. They also have a Funday Sunday 930 am boot camp which is good. The gym itself has lots of space and great equipment. Great gym smack in the middle of fountain valley. read more

Evolve Gym has really affordable options for getting fit. That's been a big obstacle in my pursuit of fitness. Many gyms charge several hundreds of dollars per month to use their classes or facilities. At Evolve, I can spend $40 a month for their ass-kicking TBG class (Thighs, Butts & Gutts) which meets several times a week. This is perfect since I'm on a tight budget and I can't do as much upper body workouts due to a shoulder injury so I really like that the class focuses on core workouts and doesn't break my bank. If TBG doesn't appeal to you, they also host Bootcamp classes at the beach across the street and yoga classes which are also very affordably priced. I haven't met Joe but my interactions with Remi have been very positive. He's very encouraging, engaging, patient, knowledgeable and was able to give me modifications to accommodate my injury. The class offers a good mix of workouts that pair and isolate various muscle groups and the burn afterwards lets me know I'm doing something that produces results. Tip: This facility is small so, while they have a restroom, I recommend showing up dressed and ready to go. They have cubicles to store small belongings and parking is plentiful. read more

So this past week I did 3 TBG classes in a row. I did one class right after another, then another class the following day. I wasn't as sore the first day, but was super sore the next day. Especially in the legs. I usually am not sore either since I workout at the gym by my house. So I definitely got a really good workout and I loved the burn. Remi is a cool, down to earth guy. Whatever you have a problem on, he is straight foward. He will tell you how to improve yourself and what you're doing wrong. Guess you can call it constructive criticism. One time we worked on the abs mostly, then during another session we did more arms/abs since I sucked at it . Next day we did arms and a bunch of other activities using the bench, pullup bar, cones, weights, machines. I Loved it! If you like being told what to do and get bored of the gym, then this class is definitely for you. read more

I take circuit classes with Brad every Monday Wednesday and Friday and it's always something new. I'm always glad I went after it's done and he's always challenging me. I recommend this class to everyone I know. They have so many different class too! If circuit isn't for you, they have Zumba and yoga as well as strength training. When I came across Evolve gym I was in dire need of some fitness coaching. My situation is: I am getting married in 3 weeks and have a beautiful size 2/3 wedding dress to look good in. I e-mailed and talked with Joe, who explained the various fitness/nutritional options I could go with regarding Evolve gym. The prices were reasonable and Joe has been working with me to create a customized program to get me into my dress. My first workout was yesterday and it was a boot-camp style workout, which totally kicked my butt. It felt like I lost 10 pounds in a single workout! Brad and Joe both did the workout with me and are excellent trainers and are in amazing shape. I have no doubt that I will be able to fit into my dress in 3 weeks under their training. This gym is awesome. It's very clean, has tons of equipment, and lots of space. I go to the bootcamps on weekdays and Sundays, and they're always different and fun. You go at whatever pace you're comfortable with, so it never feels like you're competing with anyone. There's a range of ages and everybody's really nice and encouraging. To give my background, I came into this gym with serious injury. I was concerned they couldn't accommodate my injuries and still provide a great workout. I was introduced to Krissy via Brad who had been AMAZING!! She has a background in PT in addition to personal training. Every session she makes me step it up but also watches to make sure I'm not injuring myself. I plan on keeping this up as even in six weeks, I can do far more. I LOVE this gym! I started going here with my husband when I saw they had a 6 week fitness challenge. I got my parents to come too and they love it as well. They have never been great about going to a gym consistently, but now they go multiple times a week. There are great group fitness classes that feel like personal training. It is in a great location with plenty of parking and I haven't had a problem waiting for gym equipment. During the 6 week challenge, I lost 12 pounds and 7% body fat. This gym gave me back my hope. Not for weight loss, but for something else. There was a special event Zumba class on Saturday and I had misread the advertising email, as frantically busy moms sometimes do. I thought this was an event designed specifically for teens on the spectrum. We have a daughter who has been diagnosed with high-functioning Autism and are DESPERATE for events in which she can participate. I brought her to a Zumba class thinking she would be among those who are familiar and "of the family" so imagine my terror of walking in and finding it wasn't for spectrum kiddos but a fundraiser. (And I'm wearing shorty shorts, double yikes!) In the past we've had negative experiences in these situations but I have to tell you that these people, not just the staff but EVERYBODY THERE was upbeat, kind & fun. Also, they celebrated each other - including my daughter! Instructors Gina Rathan and Angela Serrano were so entertaining and wonderful! My daughter and I had an amazingly fun time. We did leave slightly early, but that was my fault. I realized this Zumba class was the first time EVER that both my daughter and I could be ourselves AND participate in a group of "regulars" since...ever. I started to cry because I was so happy so we left. I just want to say thank you to everyone who was there. You gave us a funky fun workout but you also gave me back something more that I had been missing - hope! read more

This has been one of my favorite gyms so far. I joined their lean down challenge and was able to lose the 20 lbs in the 6 weeks. It was a great experience. I like that it's a private gym so it doesn't get too crowded. I did my workouts with Brad and it was a lot of fun. He definitely kicked my butt but all the while it was still fun.
