What a cool opening party! I got to talk with the artist Takafumi Hori from NY, which was one of the best moments there. Some unique art works, art lovers, a glass of wine, ... Fantastic! Variety: Wow! Price: Wow! Venue: It used to be a parking lot. Maybe still sometimes? I heard someone had a wedding party here. So this place is for multiple purposes. Parking lot: Street parking. I parked 2 blocks away. Free after 6:00pm there. Location: Great for drinking and eating out!

Long View Gallery is becoming the go-to event space for the urban creatives in the District. It's located just a few blocks from the Mt. Vernon Metro in the historic and beautiful Blagden Alley a stone's throw from some of DC's coolest places like La Colombe, The Dabney, and The Table. The gallery itself has two large rooms to host events. The decorations/style is neo-modern chic (I may have just made that up) creating an atmosphere that will inspire you to document every minute of the event on Instagram and Snapchat. I recommend this space for an event. I'm not sure how much it costs, but from an event participant's perspective, I felt cooler after visiting Long View Gallery.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Washingtonian Rosé Soirée at the Long View Gallery (thank you Yelp Elite perk)! Upon check-in, we were handed a mini stemless wine glass. Wine vendor tables were placed near the walls of the gallery. High top tables with sequin table covers were scattered throughout. A dj was playing some tunes. We stopped at a couple of tables and tried some samples and walked to the back of the gallery where they also had a cotton candy table, hair braiding, glitter tattooing and light bites (dumplings). When we went to the back of the gallery I immediately recognized the venue (Gilt City warehouse sale in 2012). In addition to sampling rosé, my favorite tables were the calligraphy (personalized wine glass), glitter tattoo, and photo booth.

Today I was able to attend a Yelp Elite Perk event! It was the Washingtonian's Rosé Soirée at the Long View Gallery. The event was very nice. I was able to taste different types of rosé from numerous amounts of companies, mix and mingle and try good food. This event was in partnership with Washingtonian I believe. The staff was very nice. When I arrived there was a line outside the door, the staff was very efficient with getting all the guests inside. I received a small tasting wine glass upon entry and I was actually able to customize it and get my name engraved. There was a dj playing good tunes that really set the vibe. There was a very cute photo booth, where you take your picture/ create a gif on the iPad and email it to yourself. The gallery itself is a nice size and a great venue for private events. As I walked around to taste Rosé, I also admired the different paintings on the wall. The event decor was AMAZING! Very plush and every girly girls dream, super cute!

I attended a wedding/reception here not too long ago. I must say I was impressed with this buildings small exterior. It was modern, exposed and the art left on the walls was a nice touch to the decor. I loved the location and how accesible it was. Plenty of parking right out front on a Saturday evening. I'm not sure about how other parties go, or openings go but this wedding was tame, classy and respectful of the surrounding neighborhoods. To the reviewer that gave LV a one star rating, maybe you should speak with the business owner(s) and bring up your concerns with them.

Wow. I mean wow. This art space is absolutely gourgeous, and that's before the art and installations go in. I was really blown away by this gallery. I went to Long View for the Acura MDX Launch Party, and the mixture of commercial art--the car--and art for the sake of art created a venue with an air of unpretentious sophistication that I'd yet to experience in the city. I mean wow. Needless to say, I was really impressed with the quality of the artwork the gallery was able to procure. However, I'm going to reserve the fifth star of this review for a second opening, because I'll certainly be going back. It goes without saying that I didn't leave the gallery until I signed onto their mailing list.

This gallery recently moved into DC, but has had a location in Sperryville (close to Inn at Little Washington) for a few years. Long View hosts contemporary artists of all media and genres. When I went to its opening back in October there was an exhibition by a painter and a ceramics artist. The show going on right now is filled with really vibrant ink and pastel paintings. Try and hit the opening of one of the shows at Long View..the staff is friendly and it is a great space to see some original art.

A beautiful, open space with rustic detail. This art galleria is in a central DC location and metro accessible. I was highly impressed with the ambiance and entry upon arrival. I came here for an amazing yet lowkey whiskey social. The servers walking around with rich tapas and mixologists preparing refreshing cocktails. I definitely will return for an art exhibition. This would be the perfect space for an intimate wedding. I have ideas left and right for it!!

Such a beautiful space! I attended the Edible DC's Drinks Invitational event here on 2/19/15 and was blown away by how cool this space was. I had never been before, and actually I didn't even know it existed. The layout was inviting, the space was open and airy and the decor and set-up for this specific event was fantastic. Not over the top, simple, elegant and used the space wisely...making you look up at the beautiful decor above your head. The vendors were set up nicely, allowing for ease of movement/foot traffic/flow. I would enjoy attending other food/booze types of events here. Very lovely.

The building itself caught my attention before I even got to the art. The architecture is grand, and the rotunda area hit me immediately when I walked in, the kind of space that makes you slow down without even thinking about it. The collection is massive and covers a wide range of periods and styles, so depending on what I was into, there was usually something worth stopping for around every corner. The layout took some getting used to since it moves more like a maze than a straightforward path, but honestly getting a little lost here did not feel like a bad thing. The lighting throughout was handled really well and made a noticeable difference in how the paintings actually read up close. I noticed they run themed guided tours that typically start around 11 AM and carry through the afternoon. Checking the website before going is worth it, as the tours added context to what I was looking at without turning the visit into a classroom experience. The museum closes at 5 PM, so arriving earlier gave me more time, and the weekday crowds were noticeably lighter. I would budget at least a few hours. Trying to rush through this place did not really work, and the size of the collection alone made a quick walk through feel like a waste of the trip.

When you walk in the exhibit, it is an open space with a large sunflower backdrop for pictures. After you check in, you can take a more professionalized photo, chose your background and purchase it at the gift shop for $10. It was not crowded at all which is great because it gives you time (and space) to read about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. I learned a lot and saw more replicas of his artwork. Only reason why I had to deduct a star is because there were some evident errors in years posted of his work. One piece said he created a masterpiece in the 1900s and another said he did artwork in 1837 when he wasn't even born yet lol. The best parts of the immersive experience were the 360 room of theatrical lights, the 10 minute Virtual Reality ($5 p/p) and the staff I met along the way. My bonus dad and I spent about 30-40 mins in the room watching the story of Van Gogh's background. I was amazed at the different screens displaying so much I didn't know where to look because every screen was covered. The strobe lights on the floor were emulating birds and rain. The VR was well explained and made comfortable by Perry. At the end of the VR, you then walk into the gift shop and explore a few souvenirs. We met Donnie and Paige there who had wonderful, vibrant personalities. I purchased our pics from the booth earlier and he bought a flask with shot glasses. This was my 1st time at this exhibit and in this area that I saw many cool places to check out later like Metro Bar, a movies theater next door, & an indoor pickle-ball/rollerskate place.
